Had some nute burn happening so tested soil and had salt build up (over 2500ppm)
Flushed both plants and got that under control.
Then noticed I had some mite issues so sprayed lightly with 50/50 iso/water.
That knocked the bugs back .
Now in week 9 and seeing just a few amber trichs but the smell is gone.

Do these look ok?
2nd grow. Just trying to figure out if this is a problem or just don't worry about it?
Stuff looks ok otherwise ??

Rh and temps steady. Around 50% and temps +/-10° 16-25C

It's SR-71 pk

For all the troubles you had they look superb! Smell comes and goes based on maturity, humidity, and time of day. You’ll know what you got when you chop and get them hanging.

Thanks 👍
Used a loupe with my phone but can't hold it steady enough to see trichs.

Was thinking of coming down in a few days.
I'm at day 63 from flip right now.

Or should I wait longer?
My first grow went to seed late in flower so I REALLY would love to have some decent stuff for myself finally!

I think you are really close. I always do what makes sense to me. For example, taking into account if the next grow is ready to utilize the space. Or what the temperature and humidity for the next two weeks will be like for drying/curing.

I'm thinking 2 days, as those mites are going to come back and I don't wanna spray again.

Btw light is 640watt Think-Grow model H

Open room (4x8 mud room)
Mega-crop 1 part only, with molasses at 1tsp per gallon through flower.

That explains the super dense colas 🤣 Nice work!

when it looks ready give it two weeks is the old saying

It’s rare to be ready before 70 days
Don’t spray close to harvest

Zooming in the mites had a real good feast
You can wash there poop of with baking soda & lemon juice with no ill effects outdoor gardens do it all the time as outside buds get very dirty

You could of dealt with mites with predator mites btw

And the light was a gift!
It's used, but still throwing around 800ppfd at 12"

THis made a big difference from the $50 Amazon box lights I used during my first grow, for sure.

I'll update this after I take it down and see what's there.
Thanks 👍

If you ever get them again you can use

The eggs btw can go dormant & be hard to clean up

Hence the predatory mites being a good choice as they will clean out the room once they eat all the mites & larva on the plants

Either that or clean up the room real well afterwards & my advice would be to bug bomb as well once it’s empty before putting a new source of food in

Good luck & happy harvesting
The buds look good 👍 🙂

I didn't defoliate enough so that's something to remember next time with this strain.

It's "fast flower" sr-71 photoperiod.

Says 50 days to harvest but I'm way beyond that now.

Will look into baking soda and lemon juice thanks!
Do you think those little assholes are responsible for the loss of smell? (Or my spray)

I’d factor the genetics into your decision whether to harvest. Those fast flowers are legit. Crossed with auto’s to be several weeks faster. I have never grown one. Maybe others can chime in. But I believe you are risking her seeding herself because of the stress and age.

baking soda & lemon juice
Good for washing vegetables and making volcanoes. Baking soda alone is effective, and a small amount of lemon juice makes it even more so.

That crossed my mind as well.
Everything was great until 2 weeks ago or so, then flushing excess nutes and dealing with bugs right at the end. Can't make the plants very happy.

Checking trichomes daily but at day 63 now with these issues... and I did see some (maybe 5%?) amber trichs on the top buds... So hence my thinking of chopping in the next few days.

probably the spray damaged the terpenes

When buds have no smell, it means they lack terpenes to embolden their aroma.

I'm a lot more concerned about what this does to the trichomes at this point .

A thousand comments about using iso mix on flower and the consensus is 50% say it's amazing and 50% say it destroys your flower.

I'm lightly misting 50/50 iso (99% stuff) with water. Then dabbing off any bits of webbing and bugs with a gloved hand. (Trying to get under leaves as I can)
Cleaned between each bud so I don't spread them.

I have zero smell from these two plants now. You can stand right in front of them and not smell a thing .

Trichomes don't look great under my loupe. All gangly and warped looking.

I'm chopping them down when I get home. It's just going to get worse if I don't. So frustrating.
I'm doing this to SAVE money! ...

Yeah I getcha

ISO you don’t want to be spraying on your plants especially the flowers

You’d be better off just spraying water being so near harvest still it is what it is

Spider mites destroy everything
The bud should be ok however I’d definitely wash it especially after using iso

Do know how you got them would be my concern so it doesn’t happen next time.
Pets in the grow room
Letting someone else visit
was in the outside garden & didn’t change clothes
Rooms to near a outside door
Infected clones

I appreciate everyone's input.
Hard not to get upset about this after so much effort goes into it.

Electricity isn't cheap up here either.
Not when you're a scrub making minimum wage in a country run by tax fiends and commies.

This is just for personal use.
My first crop had 1 male which I took outside, but some pollen must have landed on me then ruined that whole crop.

I did make salve out of it though ... But after 8+ months it's be nice to have something other than distro weed to smoke ... I don't trust any of that stuff anymore.

I just read something about using Milk (??) as some kind of pest spray.
Has anyone tried that?
My goal is to use absolutely zero chemicals on any weed I grow.

I have access to nasty stuff like floramite but after a seal not working on a respirator I was using to spray a friend's grow 2 years ago I got sick and ended up with a rash on my chest that actually scarred over.

It's insane what gets sprayed on this stuff and people smoke it?!

It smells like perfume as I'm cutting it?
Almost like ...chemically floral.
Weird. Have never smelled that before.

It's sticky as hell though.

I had a scrog set up but let them get too tall. Tops look a lot more done than the lowers...

Hoping for the best

Just one 12" oscillating fan in there, not blowing directly on buds.

7-14 days then I get to play Parker Schnabel and do my weigh out 😁

273 grams = 0.6 lbs

That's a half gram per watt.
Not sure what I'd have to change to get that closer to 1g/watt, but it'll have to wait a few months .

Time to start on veggies for the garden now...
Carry on!
