Last grow I mainlined 2 plants of the same strain. They didn't get very big and I didn't like the added time from extra topping. Seemed like I vegged for a long time. Now I am growing 4.

This will be a fairly simple grow. I have a 4x4 ft tent and 2 ~180 W LED boards. A newbie can follow this because I tend to write in detail and don't do too much crazy. I am still experimenting myself and will adjust this grow with input I get here.

To germinate I just soaked in water overnight to soften the shell then put directly in soil. This is new FF ocean forest with nothing added. I will add things later.

Today is about day 17 from sprouting (a guess). Look to be behind user growsince79's parallel Victory Gardens LSD plants at the same point. It's ok.

They seemed to stretch pretty tall when they sprouted, but then again the last ones did that. I am growing in a basement in winter but it's not a frigid room, air temp maybe 63 degF, 43 pct humidity.

To increase humidity I throw a Ziploc over the plants overnight and various parts of the day. Without bags lights are 20%, when I put the bags over I turn the light up a little. This light here is an SF2000. They are sitting on an electric heating mat.

I labeled them in order of how big they look ABCD with A being the current biggest. Some of the stems started growing sideways so I propped them up with wires, straightened right up.

I only water a couple squirts from a dispenser bottle at a time. Otherwise I'll add water to the bottom of the drain tray while the bags are on. Have been using either distilled or tap water indiscriminately.

I will move them to the tent with a humidifier as soon as it's available. Currently drying the first batch.

Things I learned from last time and am going to do differently:
  • Going into 3 gal soft pots instead of 5 gal. This is so that I can water more often so they get more """nutes""" bro.
  • Last time I added garden lime to new soil, I think resulted in some imbalance. I'm still gonna add shit this time but not that.
  • Not going to pH feed water what are you gonna do about it
  • Will add some epsom salt to the water, apparently LED lights need more. Added it last time with no problems.

Here are 2 freshly dry-trimmed buds from the first run of these same seeds. For some reason mine never look as pretty IMO as most of the others posted here. What's your opinion?

Soon I will move the seedlings into the tent so I can get better atmospheric control.

I have set a humidifier next to the seedlings above. Current air temps around 63 degF and humidity closer to 63%. No longer using greenhouse bags.

No strong flavor right now but my senses are whacked currently. Need to give them time to cure and myself time for a tolerance break.

I will say, I cut the last ones in week 10 and it was probably too early.

3rd day of 4th week of life. I moved the plants into the tent along with a humidifier and oil heater, both set to turn on with lights. I have a very small slit open to the outside of the tent (in picture) and no exhaust yet. This keeps temps at about 72 and RH about 76. It's like a jungle in there (compared to the rest of the basement).

I watered thoroughly yesterday and the pots are still heavy. I'm watchful whether the high humidity will allow the soil to dry. I've added an oscillating fan pointed at the corner of the tent for some air movement.

I eyeballed the height of the lights as usual. The PPFD at the canopy according to some cell phone app is just shy of 300. The lights in the tent are SF2000 knock-offs from a company called Mixjoy.

All of my electrical is through one extension cord. My next project is to distribute the load better, and time the heater and humidifier to come on before the lights.

Things I learned from trimming the last batch:
  • Trimming is a royal PITA if you're doing it alone
  • Dry trimming is hard but I'll continue to do it
  • This time I'm going to focus more on removing bud sites toward the bottom, and extend my definition of what I consider the bottom

These are lsd plants?

This is my lsd plant on day 43 from seed pop. I started everything on a 12 12 cycle by accident. 3 and a half weeks I ran it like that.

I changed it to 18 6 but recently switched it to 20 4. I just trained them yesterday (day 50) yours are much taller than mine.

This is the start of my lst. I won't top it until next week or so. Depends on how the sides reach out.

Nice start. Considering getting a journal op for it? I got some LSD going too, may start one myself. For now let's smoke some lsd ? 30 years ago, it may not have been 'smoking' lsd ;)

Yeah these are getting pretty tall.

I have a cheap tripod LED with movable lenses, it does red blue or white. Last run the plants were under the same quantum board, PLUS this extra dinky light on blue. They were much more squatty plants at this point (link).

Can't make a concrete judgment as other factors are different here.

I kind of question these genetics from ILGM, got some funky looking leaves on these. But, again, don't take my word for it and still to early for me to tell.

I may up-pot later today.

My VG lsd is kinda tall but not too bad. Only 22 days in and getting very frosty sugar leaves. Smell is minty. I have high hopes.

@E9noxis ,

Is what you are doing called monster cropping? I have no experience but maybe read up. I'd keep the lights on a constant schedule for a while...

Does not have outstanding bag appeal, that everybody loves today. But quality smoke! Easy cloner, easy grow, turn on the light let her go.
I have her in my sun room in a tent, open during the day it’s winter by me, getting great air.
seems to really dig the air.
seems to really dig the fresh air. The tent keeps her warmer at night.

What I did was a mistake. If there is a technique that starts this way, that was not my intention.

Placed into intermediate pots

The soil is maybe 4:1 FFOF and vermiculite, and just a hint of gypsum.

Enhance!

Got some bullshit on 1 one-finger leaf. Whatever!

The tent:

Deformed leaves and bullshit on one plant:

This one on the bottom looks almost buggy. I suppose I'll bring a magnifier in there next.

Similar thing on very lowest baby leaf of other plant:

All my soil and everything is new. This started already in the starter pots before being transplanted yesterday. I'm not really worried about it at this point. Any ideas?

I've been watering with a lot of distilled water. I'll switch to tap water to make sure enough Ca. That was the idea behind gypsum in the fresh soil in the first place -- the roots probably haven't gotten that far yet.
Will top soon.

Here we are 6 days after last photo, now in latter part of 5th week:

Here is the problem plant, C:

Crusty!!

Here is A:

Lame!!

Using only new soil now and have not fed previously. Today I watered all 4 with a very light 0.5 tsp/gal FF Grow Big 6-4-4. I am guessing this is P deficiency.

The other 2 plants not nearly as bad so far, but today I notice slight dark shading between veins on the widest leaves.

The 2 crusty plants A & C started with black-grey spots on lower leaves, near the veins. The spots widened and turned brownish. Next, leaf ends turn brittle and crack, and start to curl.

I topped (FIM) all 4 plants in the previous week.

I've had some problems with the environment, but the symptoms above were happening already (I don't think these blips were the cause). The atmosphere is very dry outside, in the 30 percents at the worst. And chilly; 66 F day, maybe 60 min at night (?).

The heater and humidifier are completely off at night. Generally during the day in the tent it's 72 F 74 pct range.

A couple times the humidifier has run dry for unknown hours, so there's heat and no sweat. But it's not so hot. There is a non-ideal stand fan in there now.

I recently turned on filter exhaust to help buffer things. I avoided doing so because it's really quite humid in there. Exhaust fan is inside tent as well, basically all my electrical.

At the same time, the differential between the tent atmospheres causes actual drops to form on the ceiling. Luckily not on top of anything live, but still, way too much standing water.

The tent is barely wedged into it's space, and I might not have room to lay a blanket on top for insulation, that's my next thing.

In fact, and I consider this now, I think I will move the heater outside the tent, crank it up, and give it the light schedule but advanced a couple hours. Okay then. I'll let you know how it goes.

The next day. The 2 plants that were bullshit-free now have bullshit. Observe:

In addition, there is a habit of the lower branches of deeply affected plants to bend downward.

I'm starting to see root tips poking from the drain holes on the bottom of these plastic pots. Don't know the size, 1, 1.5 L? Considering transplanting to final 3 gal fabric pots, but require more soil.

I'm hoping that the addition of veg nutes will help. Any insight is appreciated. I have not removed any leaves yet, even the crusty ones.
