This is a very important step. Then the legislature has to figure a way that they personally can benefit financially before they open any dispensaries. Massachusetts politics at it's finest.
When the casino bill passed a state representative (republican minority) proposed a bill that would not allow legislators become casino employees for 5 years, so that they couldn't work on behalf of the casinos and receive jobs as compensation. This was a good idea to restore faith in our government, since the last few consecutive state senate leaders have gone to jail for corruption. The democrats, in a closed door session changed the waiting period to just 1 year and voted it in on a weekend. It amazes me that people keep voting for these same assholes.
The polls say that mmj will pass 2 to 1. The people have spoken! And I personally have waited a long time for this. Vote yes on 3!
THIS IS A VOTERS BILL COMPILED BY PEOPLE FOR COMPASION THEY GOT ALL SIGNITURES REQUIRED TO GET IT ON THE BALLOT SO VOTE YES ON QUESTION 3 ON NOVEMBER 6TH IT OUR ONLY HOPE TO KEEP THIS OUR BILL AND NOT THE COMMONWEALTHS

As stated in my earlier post, themass dept of public health has asked for more time to impliment the mmj regulations. Apparently November to May wasn't enough time. The fuckers are going to drag their feet forever on this... And not get fired.... Current polls indicate voters are for FULL legalization in 2016!

medical is now on its way in mass! canna-med in framingham close to boston, doctors rec and 200$ and you can posses a 60 day supply. what constitutes to a 60 day supply is not reported yet, supposed to here from the state in april sometime!! but you are allowed to pick someone as your care taker and that person is also set up with a card and legal documents to cultivate for non-profit still only 60 day supply, but you will be able to take on more clients! i think its a good start. says only about 7 collectives will be able to open. with one im hearing to be for sure in northampton mass at a place called the hempist!!! i would one day like to own a collective! maybe one day! anyone else out in mass

After quickly viewing the draft of the new mmj regs in mass I didn't see any provisions for growing, info on plant count or provisions for caregiving... All dispensaries can only distribute what they produce onsite... For better oversight....And inevitable taxation. One caregiver only gets one patient.... Ftw? I don't know about you guys, but ten ounces in sixty days sounds about right...
Just when I thought we would have the freedoms to do what we want in mass, they slap the shackles back on. Fuckers. I didn't give a fuck then and I don't give a fuck now. Go green or go home. Mass goes full legal in 2016!

Just want to follow-up and let everyone know that is interested in the MA Medicinal Industry...

The preliminary DPH regulations just came out on Friday, a final draft will be decided on and voted by the DPH Council (state legislators; to the best of my knowledge).

The proposed regs are BAD, BAD, BAD for everyone (except the docs).

Without going into crazy detail, the regs essentially ban homegrown, ban caregiving and co-ops and allow the only people in MA to legally grow are as few as 13 dispensary owners of 35 dispensaries.

Patients will be able to get their cards but will be basically forced into dispensaries (who will deliver, by the way).

A "Hardship Cultivation" which would allow a patient to home grow or assign a caregiver will be based on financial hardship or a transportation hardship. Since the state is creating incentives for the those applying for dispensaries to offer delivery and free/reduced meds to those on a fixed income/ss, etc. there is such an incentive to obtain a dispensary license; all dispensaries will run both programs hence all but banning anyone actually needing a "Hardship".

From the surface: great for doctors (including pot-docs), great for patients (who don't know what really quality medicine is), good for those from out of state with very deep pockets, bad for those local or not who have experience growing, etc. and wanted their fair shot.

In the long run it will be bad for patients as well who will not be able to work with a caregiver, and will have to choose a single dispensary to obtain medicine from (can only be changed once every 120 days).

After quickly viewing the draft of the new mmj regs in mass I didn't see any provisions for growing, info on plant count or provisions for caregiving... All dispensaries can only distribute what they produce onsite... For better oversight....And inevitable taxation. One caregiver only gets one patient.... Ftw?
