MC`s Forest Adventure

Plants that are slow to show sex are almost always males in my experience, just FYI. I would definitely have a back up ready.

I did have back ups ready, about 90 of them. But I `m still down to 91 plants and many of the back up plants were smaller in size do to being in pots. I wanted to end up with my limit of 99. I even made some clones up from some of the females to have as many as I do. They of course are also smaller. I should still do ok, but not as well as I had planned. With being down by 8 plants and having taken so much time on the beds and soil It will take a chunk out of the end results this year but I should have more than twice as much as last years crop anyway.

Always next year! Lot of stuff I`ve done will be stuff that won`t have to be re-done next year. Pumps, beds ,soil (except to amend) water tanks ,barb wire, all can be used next year with little expense, or trouble. If I get my frame done and dry shed done that to will be knocked off next years work load. Still always something to improve on. I`ll need amendments, ferts, and will need to improve water availability even better. Bigger tank for the truck or if possible a water truck. Maybe some more water storage as well if I end up using a larger tank in my truck.

The big thing will be having sexed out clones for next year! Big ones if possible and getting them in the beds earlier! Don`t want to work on a bunch of plants only to have half of them turn male. I still want to start from my own seed because I know what I have that way. It`s a crap shoot to get clones from other people and you stand the chance of bringing something unwanted into your garden. I don`t have any mites this year to contend with because I started everything from my own seeds. I`m ready for caterpillars as I had just a few last year. Going to use Monterey B.t. and Monterey insect spray with Spinosad. Worked well last year and they are organic and help with Thrips and other leaf miners. I haven`t had to much fungus even with the early rains around here but I could spray with Neem oil and/or use sulfur burners if I need to.

Today was interesting. I started out by heading for the creek for a few loads of water when the truck broke down. It doesn`t seem to be getting any fuel from ether of the gas tanks. As it has two tanks with two fuel pumps I can only gess it is a wire or the electric fuel cell switch. I`ll have to get it towed to town and checked out. I`ve had a few people near by offer to help me with water and rides if needed.

I spent the rest of the day with a friend of a friend who is buying my Honda Shadow. We ate pizza and had keys made as I`d lost them. Then took a look at a bout a dozen MMJ gardens and co-ops from the foot hills to half way to Sacramento. I was dropped off at my RV and told that I should expect a visit soon with a few friends who want to buy seeds from me.

I have enough water stored for a day or maybe two but will need help getting water. I supply water from my creek to three other grows and they are going to make sure I get water until my truck can get fixed ,maybe Monday or so. I can then start getting supplies for the tunnels and some of the supplies for the dry shed. It will be a delay and maybe a little more work But nothing I can do about that. Things happen.

Mark did you say in another thread that you originally created AK47? What's the story with that? Seems like you have had your hands in many projects that nobody has a clue about, that is super cool!

Where did you make it, what were the original parent plants? How did it get into the Amsterdam scene and become so popular after you created it?

AK was made a very long time ago. Parent plants have never been reveled, and I won`t likely do so. I will say it is a 60/40 cross. I gave some of the seeds to a friend named `Steve`, others were sold in the Berkley Barb and in other underground papers. They were soon being distributed through Sacred Seeds by Steve. Then they were everywhere. I made very little out of that strain but learned some about seed vending. Sunshine Seeds never made much money because I was way to young and was only interested in enough money to party on for the next week or two. I just liked growing, breeding and collecting seeds.

That's cool, you go wayyy back in the seed scene. Im hoping one day soon your seed vaults will open and you'll drop some new beans on the Farm.

Oh you can bet on it! Just Want a to work on the property before I get to involved. I do have a few strains that I`m running now and will be sending a few packs to the farm to test the waters. Haven`t tried to sell seeds in awhile, last attempt went south. Site manager ripped all the venders off as well as most of the customers. I was warned by Logic but by that time it was to late. I hung around hoping he would do the right thing but it never happened.

I feel good. Got the garden soaked and will get my truck towed in to the shop tomorrow. Then I can get caught up on water again and start getting some stuff done around here. Hate having break downs when I`m have so much to get done! I have done some cleaning up around camp and now have a trip to go to the dump. Then there`s getting work on the frame over the beds, the dry shed, and will need to get ready to get my son boxes and pack up to move. All while watering and refilling all the water tanks.

Any afgani or northern lights in that girl? Any relation to the AK47 or did you do just the AK?

truck is fixed, for now. It had a bad wire and caused an inline fuse to burn out. I didn`t see the fuse when I looked. It may have an other bad wire but they couldn`t get to that area to check it, well not without pulling it apart a lot. I picked up extra fuses just in case. Did get to go to the movies and did some shopping. It may rain tonight I`m hoping. Bud is well under developed to hurt it and it`s so dry and dusty. Long as we have no dry lightning!!! Next stop catch up the water tanks and get back to work!

Took all day but water tanks are full ! I even made 45 gal of tea, mostly from Bat Guano. Got to water in the morning and use that tea, then top off the tanks so I can get back to work on the dry shed and frames.

I just woke up, dam set the alarm to 6am ,what happened? Only one cup of Joe for me this morning I guess ! I like to water earlier than this. Oh well must have needed the sleep. Thinking it`s about time to take some more pics of the garden and post em. Maybe tomorrow when they wake up to the sun all praying with there leaves stretched for the first light. Some may be drooping as they need watering today. Putting some extra 10-1-1 bat Guano tea on them today to make them stretch nice as many are just starting into bud. Almost time to change up the ferts for flowering. I don`t think I`ll be putting up lights to keep them in veg this year as that too is a little late. I`m not going to have the largest plants this year as I`ve been late on so many levels, but I should have some great quality bud anyway and I`m, getting set up for early planting next year!
