I kinda do the same thing...I scrape the sides with a blade lightly just enough to expose the under skin and have stellar results. Its basically the same thing that the acid in the cloning solution does. Also I love your flower vase setup!

i like to get atleat 5-10% of amber before i harves my plants but that isnt always the case. i also look for the development of the trichome and try to pull when the heads are fat and swollen before they burst.

Medusa do you have a scope to check the trichs? If not you can pick one up at the hydro for under 10 bucks.

I just pulled my Eskimo Kush at 30% amber. A scope is the best way to go in most peoples opinion, but I like to pull when the plant is just not doing anymore. I consider all the signs from pistils dying, to no more swelling, and a couple other things I can't think of at the moment cuz I'm quite blasted lol.
