Gotta say I was a little disappointed in this thread as it started out in 2012 and 1 buck picture and it was started out by @qquest as a computation - man i miss hunting not really the shooting the deer part as i only had 1 shoot in the few years i went , but the week chilling with the boys in the cabin , the early morning joints as the sun was rising - were some good memories ..... come on guys let see some bucks .... hell a joint in the woods will do.... ok too high got get off ..... peace

I managed a cell phone pic but its not much to look at plus its all gutted and spread out. Med size doe already processed gonna be venison tacos real soon! Got the inners for a little steak an egg in the morning! Didnt see anything tonight so im gonna give it a few days then hit it this week. Still got 2 buck tags to fill out and all the yahoo's will be out in full force. I hit the deck today when someone in the woods unloaded his gun! Be safe friends.;)

Thought ID add that last year at my buddies we were walking out on opening day and a neighbor decided to do some target practice into an ant hill. The bullets were going right through and ripping throught the trees next to us. Had to hit the deck and yell not once but twice. My buddy almost sent a slug back at them. Fuckin scary! There was a confrontation imediatly but ended peaceful.

BBD!

was a windy day in the sw corner of the state, and tomorrow will be even worse with 60+ mph winds. mother nature forced me to cancel two wounded warrior hunts that had been set to go this weekend. the shooters actually cancelled. we will try again next weekend. hoping to get at least one in during the week. special needs hunts can be tricky, and a lot of things can happen in the course of just hours. theres no lack of compassion here. we are patient. we will prevail...

so you want bucks eh? this is the Michigan buck pole, and I won't disappoint you. I stalked this 10 point wall hanger this morning in an open grassy field. i had one shot using a scoped cva optima inline 50 cal muzzleloader. i took the shot at 162 yards as viewed on my digital distance view finder. i had to shoot him on the move. he was walking away. i needed him to turn, to allow me a kill shot. i had a 30 second window, then he would had went over a hill, and retreated across a roadway to safety, (or another hunter). i blew on a referee whistle as loud as i could, and he turned. the wind was howling a brisk, cool, 26 mph. I'm an experienced, long range shooter. it wasn't my ideal shot, but i quickly calculated what i know, and felt 100% confident. i touched one off, (only one i would get), and stayed on the scope. he layed straight down. i watched my sabot slug hit my hard target. BBD went out in texts to my hunting buddies, along with a pic of the distance on the view finder. nuff said. Big Buck Down.:)

I've had a slew of buddies here in and out all day to see my kill. this will be my newest mount at deer camp. were just getting started.

now thats what i'm talking about ... 10 pointer winner so far ... so i'm assuming the morning joint didn't effect your aim and to elaborate on BM post its never good to take meaningless shots as your setting yourself up for a traggic ending thou many of times out of boredom i wanted to blast something for the hell of it - as with security or your grow you must think before pulling that trigger - thou i did blast a big frozen ice glazier on the side of the cliff once but end of day and no open area behind it , just a rock mountain - actually have the only buck i ever shot in back room stuffed i'll toss up a picture soon its only a 6 pointer thou - my bother in law shot a albino doe one year was a real pretty animal thou it was buck season but it was kinda shot on be trampled under does as we were approaching a cliff end and up popped a good 6 doe running straight towards us ... i had to smack one with gun to redirect her but he shot ..... jackass

Little Cali Blacktail. I only shot him with my camera. Got them all over my parcel. Getting hard for me to pull my bow back. Not sure if I want to go down to a 60 lb pull or get me a crossbow? I only kill them when I am hungry for some venison. One a year max.

Very nice buck, Irish.

This year hunting has been awesome for me, no I have not taken a deer YET but I have taken my 9 year old on with me every time this year. He loves it!!
We had a does come up on us while bow hunting, sitting on the ground, the doe came in about 15 feet away from us, I looked at my son and he was shaking like a leaf (deer fever), he now has the love of deer hunting. I kept him home from school on opening day of gun, he was up and dressed before my alarm went off at 4:30 am. Needles to say I'm a very proud father raising a great deer hunting young man.
The season is far from being over so I hope he can harvest his first deer this year.

rain day today had me sitting on my back porch glassing deer in my field behind house. filled todays doe tag within first hour after daylight. shot was 142 yds high on shoulder. dropped her in her tracks. meat is already packaged in deep freeze. still on the hunt for second big buck on my combo tag. hoping to take the 14 point on my trail cam been visiting my two acre plot planted with buck forage oats. been seeing him on cam all week. he is a monster buck. lots of six and eights hanging around. been passing on those though. soon as i rattle my antlers, I've had a few of the smaller bucks come right in within 30 yds.

good luck hunters. hope to see more big bucks down in here. hunting in the morning for the elusive 14 point. suppose to be snow on ground tomorrow. can't wait for lakes to ice over, and i can get some ice fishing in. bass in the summer, gills through the ice. football on sunday! yeahh...i love Michigan...let it snow!
