BBD!
was a windy day in the sw corner of the state, and tomorrow will be even worse with 60+ mph winds. mother nature forced me to cancel two wounded warrior hunts that had been set to go this weekend. the shooters actually cancelled. we will try again next weekend. hoping to get at least one in during the week. special needs hunts can be tricky, and a lot of things can happen in the course of just hours. theres no lack of compassion here. we are patient. we will prevail...
so you want bucks eh? this is the Michigan buck pole, and I won't disappoint you. I stalked this 10 point wall hanger this morning in an open grassy field. i had one shot using a scoped cva optima inline 50 cal muzzleloader. i took the shot at 162 yards as viewed on my digital distance view finder. i had to shoot him on the move. he was walking away. i needed him to turn, to allow me a kill shot. i had a 30 second window, then he would had went over a hill, and retreated across a roadway to safety, (or another hunter). i blew on a referee whistle as loud as i could, and he turned. the wind was howling a brisk, cool, 26 mph. I'm an experienced, long range shooter. it wasn't my ideal shot, but i quickly calculated what i know, and felt 100% confident. i touched one off, (only one i would get), and stayed on the scope. he layed straight down. i watched my sabot slug hit my hard target. BBD went out in texts to my hunting buddies, along with a pic of the distance on the view finder. nuff said. Big Buck Down.:)
I've had a slew of buddies here in and out all day to see my kill. this will be my newest mount at deer camp. were just getting started.
