Thanks fam! Yeah I’m really liking it, it came together nice went around And was sweeping the dirt off the plastic so nice no weeds at all can just hose off the plastic, the 4-5 hours of rain did great the soil is all moist under the plastic and super warm, the plants are growing at an awesome rate already it’s nutsYour garden came together really nice!!! Still working on my strawberry patch ;) gotta love a free watering : )
Those should make some damn fine baba..Might throw some of the watermelons in one of the blank spaces. Deciding what to do still, out with the fam and the mother in law took 100mg starburst and ripped a joint of Frostette our yards along and gunna walk the beach then back to cut lawns and I’ll decide what I wanna do, gotta get beans in too
I like that! I try and keep as much of my grass green through the garden for dirt/mud control but thats time consuming and in some areas promotes to much bug habitat for my liking ( already battling the little munchers!!!). Sorry if I missed it earlier, what mill plastic are you using?it came together nice went around And was sweeping the dirt off the plastic so nice no weeds at all can just hose off the plastic,
Its super heavy, had a roll from the construction days out behind the parents house, was a 600’x20’ roll, I cut 6’ off the roll last year then another chunk so this was about 12’ wide now by probably 400’ probabot 8mil woven Heavy, water penetrates well thoughI like that! This stuff isint that thin film, it’s guaranteed up to 7-10 years can’t remember then they just say it could begin to fall apart eventually I plan to leave it on for a few years as I slowly build raised beds in the current planting hole areas over the years possibly I’ll make long beds maybe 8-10” tall the legnth of the tellsies for each sectionThat plastic you use, is that a seasonal thing or does it last a couple years?
I did this string method for my tomatos last year and very badly misjudged the weight I was going to be dealing with. It was a disaster by september when this was taken.Long day in the garden started off raining then cleared up and got some plants in
That’s the goal haha if it ant handle the weight I’m growin that variety again and I’m bulkin up its all about the hunt I did another beefsteak last year with a huge trellis net and it was on the ground, complete disaster as well that’s what I’m switching up this year. I’ll be including vertical strings as well I have the clips already as wel, I document everything I plant, especially here that’s why I update garden pics so much it’s. A reference for next year I’ll use to plant my seeds etc again hahaI did this string method for my tomatos last year and very badly misjudged the weight I was going to be dealing with.
