Shhhhhhhhhhh.....at this point in life nothing is more fun than watching the ice melt and go away 🖖.... I want a sunburn dammit... I'm not asking for much Damn it ....after this winter it would only take about 20 minutes in the sun to achieve my goal

Sounds like I'll have to get you guys into bonsai moms too. I keep mothers going for years in a 1x1 box in the garage in case of emergency too..

Hey big , how long do you keep a bonsai in a cup like that ? How do you feed , flush it ? Its in coco ?
How many days could you leave it un attended ?
You can pull a clone off that ?

Keep it in that cup its entire life. I usually make a new mom and flower the old one about once a year.

I feed it like a house plant. Give it a shot of full strength nutrients, then just water till the leaves start to show signs of lightening up. Then I nute it again.

When its potbound (at it's full size) it can go 3 or 4 days between waterings. If you trimm it heavy and its regrowing, or it's still young and growing, it can need watering every day.

It's in promix HPCC, perlite, sphagnum moss and coco coir chunks. With mycorrhizae and ph buffers and all that. No nutes in it though.

Dude....you the man , gotta have a pair to keep that rig going without worries...

Thanks for the detailed description , i was going to get one going like that , but figured it only be good for 6 months tops....

Oh shit , there , right there ,learned something new after almost 30 years growing...

You can keep them for years, you just have to keep trimming them so new growth can come back. If you leave them potbound for too long without taking cuttings off it, you will get random die off and what looks like nutrient issues. So it gets ratty looking after a while, but a new trim and shes right as rain.

Keeping a small mother plant.

So, I always like to keep a mother of my favorite strain. Right now it's the white widow, but soon it will be changing. Anyways, though I would go through what I do to keep a small potbound mother plant. This plant is about 4 months old, it was made from a weird cutting off of another white...
