Hey all just posting about my grow this year. New member here and figured I show what I’m doing rather than only ask a million questions.

Trying some new fast flowering (NOT AUTOFLOWERING) strains this year from a company called Kalashnikov seeds so from them I’m trying the following:
- Kalashnikov express
- Kabul express
- AK kush express
- white critical express
- baikal express
- white widow 47 (only one not express strain)

Also I’m growing Peyote cookies and a new strain OGKZ

Never have grown any of these so if anyone has any pointers or tips on them are appreciated! So anyways started this grow on March 18 and that puts them at about 12 weeks old now.

Sorry the photos seem like they’ve gotten a little mixed up, maybe I’ll get around to editing the post from my laptop rather than on my phone, it’s a bit of a pain in the ass.

Here is my indoor grow box for this year, nothing special but hey it worked!

Can’t eveb see through the bush of plants when they’re all in the grow box at this point. Clearly I need to make next years a bit bigger or invest in a tent:

The runt is finally starting to grow decently:

This one was never topped because I wanted to see it at it’s full height. I don’t think it will be able to get there in this climate so I’ll probably top it soon:

On May 23 daddy kicked his baby girls out of the house. On their own in the wild at 10 weeks old. There are a few pics in here where you can see what seems like light stress or dying leaves. The only reason this happened is because they were getting so big they grew into the grow lights and i couldn't have them any higher in the grow box! Will definitely plan for that next year.

I have clay soil where I live so I needed to amend some soil. Ended up digging the biggest holes I felt like digging; they probably are around 90ish gallons a hole. Filled them with half triple mix and half promix HP. The triple mix is claimed to be made from 45% sandy soil, 45% compost (mixture of horse, cow, chicken, and sheep), and 10% loamy soil. The pH isn't perfect (i think its something to do with water washing in through the clay, however i could be wrong) as its sitting at about 7.2-7.3. This here is the day of the transplant.

White Widow 47:

Some issues have arisen since the transplant. The biggest one being my big ass dog ended up stepping on the Kalashnikov Express, and i believe the roots most likely broke off at the main stem. I also had topped it the day before, and then it fucking POURED the day after he stepped on it and drowned out the roots. its still in the same spot but looks just like its hanging on to its dear life. Ill post a pic of it next. There were also two plants which suffered from a bit of root shock + heat stress since they were the only two which I happened to break the bottom of the root ball a tiny bit. First time transplanting from grow bags 😖

Next time i go to see the girls ill take updated pics of them and share them here.

Good luck on your journey and loving the passion so far and the plants are looking right on track/time ( should be happy, since this year od’s season been kinda sketchy so far )

I’m game (subscribed)
Keep it up!

Thank you !! It reallly is awesome training and watching some plants turn into monsters!

I meant to get back with a pic of the sick plant and here it is:

F64F159D 0511 465D B4AC FC1CE6274228

So story goes: my dog stepped on it, practically right on the main stem. I figure a bunch of the roots snapped off and it’s unable to uptake the amount of water/ nutes it needs to survive. The day after he steps on it, it POURS rain and frowns out the hole it’s planted in. The weather here in Ontario has been horrible and there’s not much I can do about it. I covered it with a shade blanket and only hope for it to get better but it’s been about ten days I believe and it’s looking like the picture above. I’ve had to cover it with a tarp when it does rain to stop the rain from still overwatering it.

So my ongoing dilemma is should I transplant this plant into a pot until its recovered and MAYBE transplant it back into the ground sometime near but before flowering time? Or does it still seem like it'll overcome the amount of stress its experienced?

Also its supposed to pour again tomorrow and chances of rain are called for the next 4-5 days in a row. SHIT! 😖

take clones?

Im not necessarily a big cloning guy, the thought definitely has crossed my mind but I have never really gotten into taking clones off a plant.
Just curious, whats the reasoning behind you suggesting to take clones? Just cause its dying and might as well try to get something living out of it?
Would I have a better chance to getting a yield out of the plant rather than hope it survives or even transplanting it?

I just think it looks like you might lose it and never get to harvest, so take a few clones in case...insurance. Your plants all looked very good before that stomp though 😁

Ugh tell me about it. Id say that one was even one of the prettiest at the time.
I guess there really is nothing to lose at this point so cloning is an option.

Looking for some insight on whether or not transplanting the whole plant into a pot is worth it as well. Anyone have any opinions on that?

I'd take clones. One thing I wouldn't do is try to mover her again. The shock in her current state most likely will kill her. Take as many clones as you can. You can replace her if she doesn't make it.

I’ll take some clones later today. Ground seems to be drying up but still calling for so much rain here. Figure I’ll leave the clones in some pots to grow since they won’t get as big as these girls

Finally put up their cages. There’s also the fucker who stepped on my plant lol. This pic is right before a little bit of pruning (topping and defoliating)

Most of the bottoms of my plants that have 16+ colas look like this. Isn’t it beautiful? Lots of airflow and all the branches are quite strong

AK kush express: this one was a slower grower but is loving its new home now. 8 main colas here but did some topping after this pic to slow down the upper growth

OGKZ: wanted to see it become the monster it’s supposed to be. Haven’t topped it yet and it’s about waist height

Peyote cookies:
Topped for 16 colas but also topped and defoliate a bit of undergrowth after the pic. Also starting to bend through its cage.

Not even the largest of leaves but they’re getting HUGE!

Baikal express:
This one was started about 5 weeks after the others. Smaller and it went through a lot of heat stress on its first days outside. Stunted the growth for a while but now she’s thriving

CAE3F63C 301D 4855 9EDB CEF5C416F951

White widow 47:
Topped for 18 nodes but then also went through some heat stress. Now she’s also thriving. Haven’t really pruned much since the heat stress as I’ve been waiting for more foliage to grow. Taking out the dead/ dying ones over time though

34BFFBBA 52F6 4C84 8D89 0C83743B9EC2

Pics are from yesterday. I’ll probably end up cloning that plant that’s dying as well as some side branches of other plants tonight. Also going to water that dying plant in the post above with water + hydrogen Peroxide. Hopefully the extra oxygen helps the roots.

👏 very good !

Thank you very much!!

These are the most beautiful plants I’ve seen maybe ever! trying not to have plant envy! 😜 We need you to document every damn thing...right here! So I can copy you.

Haha thanks! Im really happy with how they turned out. Ive tried mainlining/manifolding before but this time around I figured I would give my try at a new experiment.
The main structure of the plants was done by first letting the seedling grow to about 5 nodes. I use T5HO lamps and had them as close as possible to the tops to allow the nodes to be pretty close together. Once you get 5 nodes I topped them. It doesn't really matter which node you top at but I knew I wanted to keep TWO nodes, so chose the ones which were closest together. Topped them and began just training the branches so they grew out horizontally and not up. At this point we have four branches growing like North, East, south, west kinda deal.

Let each of those branches grow to at least 3 nodes. I then top at the third node at each branch, strip the second node, and kept the first node on each branch. From this you now have 16 colas. From there on in its simply just dying down the new growths every few days or so just to make sure no cola becomes more dominant than the others. Look up nebula's manifold. They do a similar thing but only with two main branches, not four.

After the 16 nodes is achieved I also strip all new growth tips until I know that the plant has grown wide enough so it does not become crowded in the centre. Ive now gotten to the point where I can leave some growth tips if I know they won't end up being suckers stealing the energy from where it should be.

Never heard of this breeder or express flowering is he breeding auto flower with photoperiod strains or is it just a marketing catchphrase.

Never heard of this breeder or express flowering is he breeding auto flower with photoperiod strains or is it just a marketing catchphrase.

I just found them this year so I could not tell you for sure if they actually will complete their flower cycle a little earlier than other "regular feminized" types. I will let you know come october though! :D

However, taken right from their website:

"Apart from autoflowering and feminized seeds, after years of experiments, we have achieved a line of "Express" strains. Theу are characterized by shorter period of flowering than their feminized counterparts. Attention! Express are NOT autoflowering. Please do net expect lowering in june! Express need shorter day to get flowers, exactly as feminized plant."

And if you read through their different express strains, its achieved through crossing different strains with their "secret hybrid" which achieves the express flowering characteristics. This is all still quite subjective. One might not agree that they will flower faster, but the only true way to tell would be to grow some plants which are express, and their same strain counterpart (i.e. AK Kush Express and AK Kush). I am not even doing this since I can only grow so many plants.

Only time will tell how these strains mature.
