Terrence Mckenna once decided to ask the "mushrooms" during a trip if he was doing the right thing with his life..
The answer he got back was, what kind of a chicken shit question is that to ask someone like me?

It’s like a rocket ship going into outer space.............
Or a ice cream cone with all of the sprinkles.........
Or a rainbow ride on a unicorn..........
Or ?
Seriously though if you’ve ever done LSD
Take it down 5 notches,
Shroom high = 5-8 hrs of containment
LSD high= 8-12 hours of madness
Just remember to come back when your done for the day:)
In addition to what was said above I feel like it highlights the separation of mind and body while also distorting your perception of time. You may only trip for six hours but it will feel a lot longer. To me it kinda feels like a reboot, any baggage you have is set aside while tripping and you see and experience things in a new light, mostly untainted by past thoughts or feelings.

If you want you can choose to look into your personal issues and will likely find some helpful insights or you can ignore them and completely lose yourself in a movie and experience it more deeply than you thought possible. Live music can become an elevated experience too but I recommend this only once you are confident that you can comfortably handle yourself on mushrooms in public.
This is why I love tripping. I'm well overdue a reset. Helps separate you from your ego. Almost like it's a new chapter in a book.
Mushrooms for me.. I find they lower the veil of bullshit in the world and let me see things for what they truely are.

Nothing can make you abandon feelings of blind patriotism faster than a strong dose. I quickly stopped giving 2 fucks about politics, wars, bullshit news media...

A profound sense of understanding the connections all around us, the symbiosis and interplay between all living things. Trees and plants almost become as alive and interactive as a human being, breathing, growing, communicating in their own way. You see that everything, EVERYTHING is connected and means something.

Its so incredibly hard to put into words. Ive always felt that the world would be a far better place if every human did at least one heroic dose in their life. Ego is whats holding us back as a species.

I'd feel bad subjecting you guys to the novella of jabberwocky that I would go into about the intro/perspective realizations that I've gotten over the years from hallucinogens, namely my beloved cubensis.
But you're all hitting the nail on the head... you know, that nice three-swing, 'ping, ping, pong!', hammering when you're in a stride.

best place to take schrooms for me was on the cliffs above the ocean
nocal area(from the gun turrets of the presidio up to gold beach in Oregon). with a group of friends playing some wierd games,(nobody died luckily)got too paranoid in pubic places around a bunch of people
They were readily available on cowpatties in pastures. Strongest ones were dryed and made into a powder, which some people smoked

You should feel bad, no more distractions until you start your "grow along" thread we are all waiting for. That's an order! 😜

In my memory, it was as though someone turned up the volume, bass and treble on everything you can sense. In my personal experience, if you don’t know how they will affect you, have someone you trust to look out for you with you if possible. That’s just me.

Inexperienced folks should have a trip sitter if possible, for sure. Especially if youre gonna push the dose up into hallucination territory.

Absolutely. I'd say just someone to be in another room.
'Sober' people generally don't like tripping people and tripping people can feel very uncomfortable around 'sober' people... which could really send them into an uncomfortable experience.
Almost like being a DD. It's generally not fun for the person not drinking and the people that get lit feel like total shit heads once they've recovered.

Stuff it, all in or not at all, tried to get a truffle kit that flushes in one day , but the weight doesnt allow it to this country, so 50g of Shakti Twins, supposedly enough for 5 to 10 people to get a trip out of each 25g dose, oops. best find some friends asap, ,, how to socially distance while on magic truffles ,, hmmmm I can see this being a PROBLEM

Wanted to post a thanks to the group for all the information bout shrooms. My first experience with hallucinogens was while attending my senior skip day (1969), where someone now long past dropped two hits of blotter acid in a beer I was drinking... Suffice to say the rest of that day and next was “colorful and interesting”, but I did survive.
As I was driving home from the party, it at first felt like the steering wheel was being pulled forward out of my grasp, and my arms had to elongate in order to keep steering... Two female passengers in the car, pissed themselves due I guess to my errant driving, and my wildest friend was cautioning me on many things that even he felt was a little over the top, I was doing, that was one of the only times I received his admonishment for anything.
After reading this how to on growing mushrooms, it got me mentally reliving some of that...wished that I had known what was going on, and that I hadn’t seemingly stepped into the twilight zone , as I felt during the experience.

It took the passage of eleven or twelve years before I ventured to try mushrooms, it was a much better, experience but still one that I wished I hadn’t been driving...being the unwitting DD isn’t that much fun.

Yeah... I have mixed feelings about their recreational use. I started using them around 13 or 14 years of age. Obviously reckless. But... it definitely helped to mold my view on life and to not get so down on myself and the world around me.
I think it's a total crap shoot inevitable of age, gender, body composition, mental stability, etc. I think the best thing is to test the waters in a responsible way and use them as a tool for enlightenment, spiritual well-being, and mental therapy. And definitely responsible fun... when you know how you react to them.
But... I've had some crazy fun times driving cars, climbing mountains, riding waves, etc. Wouldn't trade my experience with them for anything. But I was fortunate to never hurt myself or others and I don't really think it's something you can assure unless you take them responsibly. Like.. y'know... alcohol... that's available en masse to everyone.

Oh man, don't get me started with how I feel cannabis might be an even more irresponsible recreational substance to use than psilocybin mushrooms... might get the boot from the community...😯
Just the cultural acceptance of its free-for-all use alone... pretty dangerous stuff especially when dealing with neurochemical imbalances that might not present themselves on the surface. Mushrooms at least have a certain air of caution in their reputation.

Dude, so much the same.
I had my fair share of close calls from dumb decisions but i wouldnt trade them for the world.
One time ill never ever forget, we were about 18y/o and had travelled to Pictou which was a town nearby that you had to cross a long causway to get to. We were going to grab acid for the incoming hurricane we were expecting to hit us that night. We always made a habit of dropping acid or mushrooms during hurricanes. Because come on...

So i was driving and we had about 6 people in the car, we grab a sheet of windowpane and each of us drop our first hit immediately, go to grab the last buddy before heading home, and hes not ready. Im like, hurry up dude.. we need to get home lickity split!

20 min later we finally get heading back and its getting dark. The Acid hits me like a sledgehammer. My first time with windowpane.. We pull onto the causway and they had resurfaced it so there was just those little temporary markers. Its dark, im tripping balls, and then the hurricane force winds start blowing across the causeway! The car is getting nailed with raindrops that looked the size of eggs splattering on the windshield... couldnt see a damn thing. Oncoming cars are streaking by with the most insane tracers... Felt like we were doing 100mph but i was actually going like 10, creeping along.. getting passed lol.

I just remember this fucking song blasting on the stereo, and it being the absolute most perfect soundtrack for the adventure. This whole album was my favourite for tripping with back then honestly still is one of my favourites.
But this song on that causeway, tripping balls in the middle of a hurricane was one of the most memorable experiences ive ever had in my life.

I have one memory of driving while tripping because I tried to never do it. But I was heading home from a friend’s summer place out in the woods/back country of that town. And there were lots of twists and turns and little hills and valleys, and it just created this cartoonish imagery in my mind of my drive while I was driving, bopping along to this.

Thats awesome! Its wild how much the music you listen to dictates the experience.

Soundgarden or Alice in Chains were always in my top shelf back in those crazy days. But we used to really trip ourselves out sometimes with shit like Ozric tentacles or other prog shit.

What is it with natural disasters and dosing...?
I heard about the pandemic and my first thought was, 'welp... let's watch this shit burn in super HD...'

Awesome stories. It's amazing, and I guess kind of expected... given the intense sensory experience, how hard those situations implant themselves on in your memory... especially the music.
