My butter taste like Sh*t

But it was strong AF.

I decarbed 72g at 240 for about 45-50min (I was using some nuggets, popcorn buds and trim all lower grade stuff and didn’t grind so I gave it longer, stirred and rotated pans every 15min to try to keep things even).

Then I divided the 72g and put 36g into two sous vide bags and added 2 cups of unsalted butter to each bag and sealed.

They went into a 195degree water bath for 3hrs (I’m assuming this is where I fucked up probably could have stopped around 60-90min).

Strained everything out and as it cooled I periodically whipped it up so everything was mixed evenly.

Ended up with a heavy 3 cups of green butter that smells like hay And taste like weed.

Put into a sugar cookie recipe that made 62 cookies. 1/3rd of a cookie had me in a perfect state of euphoria

It was a first try processing weed to make anything. Hopefully with less time and maybe a lower heat I can achieve less taste while keeping the same high?…..

I've not done butter I use Coconut oil. 1 cup decarbed bud - 1 cup coconut oil. put both in a double boiler for 2-3 hrs strain and you're done. Add it to what ever you want. Gummy's, Chocolates, Cookies.......That unsalted butter taste like shit from the start to me and butter easily burns or can go off smelling.......I hear people use butter and I guess it can be done right but the Coconut oil making is pretty easy and it too taste like weedy oily coconut and needs to be used ......in......something

You started with 2 cups of butter and ended up with 3 cups of infused butter at the end. What did I miss?

2 cups to each bag he said. So 4 cups to start 3 on finish :)

Everyone begs me for my brownies or cookies, 1/4 oz lightly grind, fill a big pot with water and bring to simmer, in a smaller pot put the ground flower and 3 sticks butter in smaller pot, put small pot in large pot and let it simmer for 2 or 3 hours do not let boil, after double strain with a fine mesh strainer, add 1 tea spoon of vanilla stir and let butter cool, you can put in fridge and it will harden, this will make 1 batch of brownies or cookies. A different high last much longer as your still high next day, this ALLSO depends on quality of weed you use.

I can't make brownies, I make them I eat them and the infused coconut oil is for my wife for a sleep aid. 2 -3 gummy's or 1small brownie....The gummy's will last 2 -3 weeks. The same size batch of brownies last 2-3 days.....I'd go through too much weed keeping that up.

Coconut oil is good stuff but I don't like the smell or taste of coconuts! Get refined coconut oil it doesn't smell, naturally refined or unrefined stinks,

Use kief and it won't taste as bad.

I can always smell the cannabis in my butter. Never have I noticed the taste of it in my cookies.

I've used the MCT oil as well but was more expensive and the gummy's stayed at room temperature better with the Coconut I probably fked up but they finished okay then melted slowly even in the fridge with the MCT oil.

Vanilla seems to be good at hiding it. I used to double the vanilla in toll house cookies. It worked so well that we had some we forgot about in the freezer. I found them, many months later and thought they had to be regular cookies, as I would NEVER have forgotten about cannabis cookies! Not in a million y...

Fast forward to about an hour later, after eating about 4 of them --

LouAna Coconut oil has ZERO coconut smell/taste even says it on the label. Give it a try. I make edibles from vaped weed so basically when you vape the weed it decarbs it. So you get two highs for the price of one. I fucking love it.

It's a great way to make your vaped weed go further.

I make a potent 'space cream' with my ABV dope, one shot of it in some hot chocolate will get you where you want to go pretty quick

Thanks y’all, I’ve got one more batch of less desirable stuff to try out with some of the above ideas but A LOT of better product to work with so we’ll get this sorted out….probably gonna try to do a batch of QWET also and see how that infuses with butter or oil also, been reading a lot of GNick55 stuff and got the itch

I know he smokes it but I’m not at that level yet we’ll try and eat first

Anything you make with plant material is gonna have some hint of chlorophyll flavor, the longer you cook it, the stronger it is. I just make chocolate fudge if I don't want to taste it at all. Peanut butter also masks strong butter well. Caramels work well too, but they can be a pain to get perfect.
