When you ordered your buckets for global was there a minimum order number? Was the shipping cost outrageous?

Medical, the only minimum is you have to buy 3 things at a time. 3 buckets or 3 lids... that's how it comes packaged/shipped. I ordered 6 tubs and 6 lids (not included with tubs) and it came out to around $151.50 and shipping was less than $30. Comes out to around $30 a piece for a heavy duty bin that I haven't been able to find in any local store. These are really solid bins, folks.

Thanks EZ, Can you buy those fittings (black rubber rings) you use for you over flow drains at the home depot?

The depot doesn't carry the Uniseal brand and the ones they have are small. I'm diggin the uniseals :) For the size drains I was using, it was a bit cheaper than big bulkheads and you can have a little flex without it leaking. I found sink drains at the depot but I didn't like how they were not completely flat on the inside. I still use it in my veg setup and it doesn't leak but I didn't wanna take a chance on having to redo all my mpbs

You can get just about everything you need at aqauticeco.com. That site has a lot of goodies! .

Thanks bro...I originally was just gonna cover the bins with the panda like everyone else. I had some leftover barrier and decided to mess around with a bin...next thing you know i'm back at lowes getting more barrier and foil tape. I actually had to make a couple trips to get foil tape as you run through it quick when you get all crazy about covering everything lol.

Get the stuff that has the bubble in between two sheets of aluminum. It's much easier to work with and I think the added space adds a slight R factor as far as insulation goes...not much but every bit counts. It's like $50 for a 4'x25' roll at Lowes. It was over $100 at my local hydro store for the same thing. I think I spent more on foil tape lol!

I'm finally finished with all the plumbing and it's up and running. I'm gonna let the system run for a day to make sure everything is good to go. In the meantime, i'll hang the lights and vacuum the mini-split lines...yes, i've been putting this off till last. I kinda dread tackling it cause it's a little nerve racking lol.

Found out an 80L isn't really enough for the five 8" round airstones. It will work for now but down the road i'll probably get a 120L and add air valves for each line.

I'm glad I used 1.5" drain lines. There's about 3000 gph that's flowing through 5 buckets and the water level is over half way up the drains!

Those with a big res and need to circulate your water, you might consider picking up a Tunze (or equivalent) stream pump. These are used in aquariums to simulate currents. These things push a TON of water!

13 dawgs baby!! Gotta thank my homie True Grit for the reminder :)

Hey lolli, it's a 70 gallon res. I was hoping to only use 70 gallons in the system but that's not happening. There's probably 40-45 gallons in the 5 bins and there's a lot of water in the drain lines. I need around 40 gallons in the res just so all my pumps are fully underwater and functioning right. I'm gonna end up with 100 gallons in the system when running. Good luck with getting all your gear!

Thanks for the link, mc. I'll check them out at the hydro shop to see how loud and hot they are. The outlet looks really small for such a large pump. I'm adding a ton of DO through all the water movement (drains, waterfalls, stream pumps, air stones, etc.) that I think I can get away with what i'm using for now. I don't think I can truly take advantage of it all till I have more light anyways. There's a balance somewhere in there lol.

13 Dawgs are gonna be germed soon :) In 6-7 months I should be ready to run them in the mpbs...gotta find moms first. That should give me 2-3 runs with the mpbs to get familiar with how it all works and to get things more dialed in. I'm really glad I built the mini-mpb system for veg cause it's basically the same thing and was very helpful in getting me ready for the big step up...both in construction and growing. I would recommend anyone to experiment a little first before going all out! A lot can go wrong if you're not on top of it.

Yeah To be honest most of that ecoplus gear isnt very good....Thats the pump I use to power all 15 buckets...Definitely upgrading next time...

Most hydro shops dont have these in stock...Special order...Green Coast does have the comm 5

The air pump is probably very loud and hot thats why its so cheap...Ha Ha

You live in so cal...Love to shoot a porn in that room..

Lost, thanks for the information on the 1500's, really appreciate it.

Easy, yes, were looking to do more of a barebone's run the first couple to get some experience before hitting it hard. We are gonna make sure all the key components are up to par though, just not as many fancy controllers at first. ;-)
That makes complete sense about not worrying about the reflective material under the plant since they'll be grown over it in no time. Thanks for all the info!

Thanks guys :) Welcome to the space lounge :)

Ok, so i've decided to start over with new clones. The girls in veg got way too big since I didn't finish the flower room in time. Word of advice: get your room done before you start vegging lol. They had hit the glass and were growing around the outsides of the hood...inches from the ceiling. I only have around 5ft of vert space in the flower room and these girls were 4.5 ft. tall and 4 ft. wide! No room for growth so i'm starting over. It gave me a chance to get familiar with the system and what to expect so the next veg run should be better. This buys me some time to finish all the little things that need to be done.

Sorry bro, no pics of the craziness in it's entirety. I was still trying to salvage a run with them so I had cut about 1.5ft off all the tops. In a matter of a couple days, they were already back up at the glass! I had to tie a rope around them all to keep them from falling over. The room is 8 ft. wide and they cover it end to end. Way overcrowded and that caused them to stretch like a mofo. I would have a very difficult time moving them by myself. Good chance they would have gotten seriously damaged in the process as they are way bigger than my 24" doorway. Something I didn't think about till it was too late lol. Also, trying to put the cage around them would have been a real bitch!

I'm running a 1k hortilux blue in a Magnum XXXL hood. I was using a light mover but had to take it out to get more height...didn't help much lol

I'll take pics of them before I take them down tonight. Gonna be really sad :( I'll finally get to see what the roots look like. They all have a lot of roots that have come out of the drains and are growing in the tray!
