Thanks for the heads up on that.
I really don't need to choke it down. Only did that because I filled the res to full and was slowing the flow to empty a little bit by hand.
What I plan on doing is getting another female garden hose fitting. Screw that on to the male fitting that has the hose on currently.
Make a 90° bend pointing it straight back to the res.
This way I can remove it and put the hose on to empty the reservoir.
I also picked up a 10' PVC rain gutter.
These are shaped different than what they were a few years back. Flimsy.
I picked up a few of the support bracket hanger thingies. With those in place it seems more rigid.
I just need to figure out how I'm going to attach it.

I run my 10' gutters one upside down on top and one on the bottom and sit on 2x4's this allows for quick clean up.
I tried tubes but found it hard to clean out at the end. and the jets are on the out side so I can clean them out if needed.
Make sure to put a filter around the sump pump does not take must to to stop a jet from spraying.

here is a link to my whole set up in detail might give you some ideals ?

I was going to use the same gutters you have.
Only issue is they don't have them anymore.
The new pvc rain gutters have a curve to where it won't work.
That's why I went with the fence posts.
What I'm going to do is make the inside pvc pipes with the jets removable.
I can still access the jets perfectly fine where they're located.
I just slide the pvc pipe and lift it up where the net pots go.
I used a tap and die set so the jets screw in like butter.
I already had one clog from junk left inside from drilling the holes.
I forgot which size socket fits the ez clone jets. Believe it's 3/8ths socket fits over the jet so I can unscrew it.
I do still need a filter for the pump. That is still on my checklist.

Here is what I'm talking about with the new style gutters they have at home depot.

They had the same style at both here where I live.
They no longer carry the regular half round gutter or any fittings for them.
They're called K style. That's all they have out here.

^ shipping be brutal on that Yo!

You guys might find this interesting...especially vid #2...Buddy takes his hydroponics hobby serious! Probably doesn't pay retail for fittings either is my guess...hahaha

Totally legal here, all I have to worry about are messed up plants.:D

Couple things I do now, add a scoop of PondZyme to every res change, it keeps the water clear instead of cloudy, and also use Hygrozyme, an expensive root health additive. I have heard that once you get root rot it is hard to clean it up, so keeping the system healthy with nute changes every couple weeks is a good idea. Cool with the Jack's is that the stuff is super cheap, making the nute changes even easier.:D

finally starting to see new roots heading out of the net pots.
Not much to report otherwise.
I'm just using what I have on hand.
GH nutes. Going with the 8 16 lucas formula.

Just cut these today, Harlequin and Bodhi's Good Medicine. This is an 8 netpot version of an NFT rack. Maybe your plants will be inspired by the bud porn.:D

Roots are blowing up nice.
Plants are just starting to grow now.
I still need to hook up the gutter.
Magically how the next day the leaks stopped. That's why it's just sitting.

Look great! Why are you using hydroton instead of foam netpot collars? I like the foams because of the gnat problems in this region, the bugs like any wet surface so I try not to give them any. How much vertical clearance do you have? Anything higher than 12" in veg and mine will hit the lights. Some strains like Blue Dream just stretch up to the light even if they start flowering at 4". :D

Honestly I didn't think the neoprene would work. Didn't look into using them either.
From my experience the stocks of the plant get really wide in a NFT system. Then again, this is my first Aero/NFT grow.

I have 9' ceilings in my garage. Lots of height available.
Most plants are 12" tall and really starting to take off.
I'm going to switch the light cycle tonight to flower.
I never grown the Gorilla Glue. Figure they are going to stretch like crazy.

I use hydroton because my stalks gets up to 2" wide and neoprene would not be able to support the plant that well. plus its cheap and easy to use . Now if they make a Rock wool insert that will fit into the round cups thats the way I would roll.
