Transplanted outdoor Chemdog into 20gal cloth pots. Likely will wrap in plastic to hold some moisture in as it's pretty dry here.

Pulled a few clones as well for the next indoor run. Not stoked on the autos above but they're also not done yet so who knows.

Clone method, fwiw: snipped a sucker, put in water so i can go eat dinner, then did 3-4 light stem scrapes, dipped in clonex and placed into pre-poked holes in soil blocks. Don't even know what soil mix was in the bucket, but we will see. Sitting on a heat mat, in a tray with a done, vents closed for now.

Mars hydro TSL2000 shorted out, melted the plug a bit. I'll not be buying again, i feel like i avoided a potential fire. Will update with Mars Hydro customer service response, if and when i get one.

Note the melted plastic inside the hole:

Glad I had a spider farmer sf2000pro ready to pop in there. Gonna go buy some fire extinguisher balls shortly. Sheesh.

I bought a couple of different brands of extinguisher balls/boxes. They're good for other places besides above lights. You hever know when you might need them, and you don't even have to be home. Worth every penny.

So, the indoor bed with Muchacha autos is still chugging along. Cannabis barely hanging in there bu, that cover crop! Oh my!

All in all, a fun run so far, though I'm left with questions about those muchacha autos...

The soil-blocked clones have roots! Have had for a few days. At least two that i can see, one fatty in the back left of the pic.

PXL 20230603 010424648

And oh, my! That cover crop is flowering!!

The cannabis looks like trash, smells like gas. I hope I'm right that the mix was maybe too hot w/ compost, and that letting all this go wild will use up some of that nitrogen that i think caused these twenty20 Muchacha autos to get funky. The Chemdog clone in the center of bottom picture is looking great, so I'm really not sure, but i think I'm happy!

Well, the soil blocks i used for my clones worked great! Probably good to practice on some veggies first, they can fall apart if too wet or too dry. Mine were too wet going in but held together well enough.

All had fat white roots poking out the bottom and sides. Looked ready to me (17is days?) so it was time i guess.

(Spot the clones! 3 of 4 are visible here.)

My main question at this point is: do i just let this cover crop go mad? Obviously trimming as needed, but should I ever do a full mow?

So, current status of the plants in the 2x4, Coots mix is below. Note the watering hose, giving 3 gal with microbes and black strap molasses.

Well, after filling my bed with soil i noticed that i forgot the tent liner on the bottom for catching runoff. The choice not to put it in afterwards has finally caught up with me:

PXL 20230621 023317017

PXL 20230621 023323640

But, some fans and we are good. Just need to be careful with watering. I had been giving 3gal every 3 days but figured flowering plants might benefit from 3gal every 2 days. Oops.

On a different note, trichome shots! Your opinions on readiness are welcome, they should be done by now but look unripe.

As my first autos, should i need to adjust lighting to get them to finish off and amber up? Or just wait it out?

Guessing a whopping 1-2 ounces from this muchacha auto from 20twenty. Her even more runty and scraggly sibling (back, right in the below photo) is going to get another week and then the Chemdog Fem clones can take over this tent and bed. I plan to flip to 12/12 tomorrow and get them flowering!

Light upgrade! Went from a 200w spider farmer, which replaced a burnt-cord mars hydro tsl-2000, to a current HLG 320 Rspec FR.

Started them for a day at about 38%, then up to 50% today. At 50% on the dimmer I'm reading about 525ppfd at canopy level with an uncalibrated photone app. I didn't measure the distance, it's at the top of the tent using provided straps, with room to pin it higher if needed. Just looking at baselines, so I can adjust as the plants show signs of needing more or less light. Or something?

I'm thinking it's water stains. There is some on the back of a few lower leaves, and I was perhaps incautious with my watering wand.

The spots :

And a shot of the bed, stretch over and starting to stack. I think.

Ok, so this has just got chopped! Pics below include trichomes pics from today and last night, and some harvest and pre-harvest shots. Currently drying at 60-65rh, about 60-65*. Shooting for ten-plus days of dry. I'm concerned there may be seeds, see if you can spot'em.

Flipped on 6/27 or so, so just under 9 weeks (62 says) of flower. NASC white label Chemdog, listed at 63 days flower.

Well, indoor ended up producing 238 grams!!

...of seeded cannabis. Found the herm too, cute little nanners.

No too disappointed. I mean... a little I guess. But only about 10 mature seeds, mostly near the bud I found nanners on. I'm guessing stressed from too much nitrogen, and maaaaybe a pinhole light leak?

So question time: Immature seeds ok to vape?

Edit: ...because I'm probably doin' it!!

Good news is it wasn't too seeded. Really negligible number of seeds so far, though I wonder if potency suffered for it. It isn't the most hard hitting, though again, I also didn't do any hardcore amendment process. Just water, black strap molasses/microbes(Mykos or something?) occasionally and that's it.

The bed is still N heavy, though I'm planning to do soil testing for indoor and outdoor beds this fall.

Outdoor grow chugs along, with one plant ready to harvest and one looking like it has a fungal infection and needing another month, if it even makes it. I'm concerned it has fusarium.

1000004590

1000004593

You can see the fusarium wilt in the pic above, the back plant. It isn't the whole plant, just a few branches, really only one visible in this pic. Can't figure why it is presenting like this, whatever it is.

And trichome shots because I'm indecisive and can't pull the trigger. Though with the potential fusarium in this plants neighbor, and the amber trichomes I'm seeing on calyxes, I'm thinking it's time is near. Thoughts welcome as always. Outdoor is fun!!!

Oh shit, chopped one outdoor Chemdog! I'm guessing just under a pound, but time will tell. A quick budwash (3 buckets, 1 water/lemon juice, one water/baking soda, one rinse water) and when they are done drip drying they come into the dry room for their actual dry.

One more Chemdog left with some odd wilting. At this point I'm hoping it's just dramatic as i'm worried about fusarium and hemp borers due to the strange, progressive wilting of branches.
