No the lights are extremely close I wasn't expecting them to stretch as much as they did... Oh well 4 more weeks to go! Next time I'm not using hortilux hps and I'm bout to get the night and day temp the same during the flip and first 3 weeks fallowing the flip.

the light distance is a double edge sword, if your too far they stretch, if your too close they stretch from heat and light stress. i find the further away method is more forgiving, think about big swiss set ups where they have unbelieveable vigor and bushyness yet they're lights are like 4 or sometimes more feet above the canopy. U probably knew all this but hopefully someone will read it and up they're game

IMO the UC doesnt produce any more weed then any other system or grow style - then figure in all the shit that can go wrong and fuck you - air pump dies or you lose power - inline pumps that clog/die - tubs that break spilling 60 gals on your floor - uniseals that leak - manifolds that fall apart - root rot - I can really go on and on

then you have to consider - extra electricity to run the pump and air 24/7 - extra electricity to run a chiller - and yes you NEED one

then the cost of the kit + plus the cost of the chiller and it really is not worth it in the long run

I got a xl8 Id sell pretty cheap at this point - Im still pissed at myself for falling prey to the HYPE

im on the same loop
found a ucxl12 on craigs list, used once
got it for 1100. Normally 1700.
then i bought that 1 hp chiller sitting in my garage unwrapped at this point.
800 delivered.
So basically 2000 sitting in my garage...
I've heard great results on uc.
I've heard more about continuous problems, etc.
Lastly,,, im doing an addition at my house for twins on the way,, so im gona tear the g room down and rebuild new walls, all new slab up and trying to figure how to design it. Dont want to do it 3 times

I have been thinking about sell my system and make a simple DWC as I have height and space limit.

I feel you motherlode... I am having ph fluctuation problems still its not as bad as the last time but I definitely feel you... I am also starting to think I can probably do better with rdwc and 5 gal buckets even though the UC is good don't get me wrong I have made it work for me so far but I got that 5 gal bucket rdwc system nailed... I'm setting a new room up to run along side this one right now and I think I am going to roll regular old rdwc vs uc and see which one comes out on top.

nah it was one and done for me - if I have to run a chiller that means losing a 600 for my veg area

I got a lb a light with white fire - I have got as much as 1.5 a light with that cut and never less then 1.25 before

I know I could hit that mark with the uc if I went with the 2 top lids - but just not worth the risk to me

I wonder what happened to Ben, he hasn't posted up here since last year, but he logged in numerous times since his last post, I have seen him online as well, but yah he never posted anything for a long time.
I have heard from a few sources Ben was getting paid to post up his grow in here to generate business, so if thats true then if he had problems it seems doubtful he would share them with us. and if thats true I doubt asking ben would produce an honest answer

What is your system of choice? Been running rock wool and thought I'd take the plunge. Just doing 4 lights with the UC just in case it dosent work as planned. Hope to fire it up next week. That was a pain to slide those PVC pipes through those tight donut holes.

This is my Bubba Kush run #1 with hg aquaflakes all suppliments and calmag+ from botanicare... gh ph up and down and a merlin ro unit under 2 1000w hps in raptor hoods with a perfect environment just incase your wondering... anyway enough talking here are some pics.... Oh and NO co2 was used on this run.

This shit also smelled so funky I literally for the first time in life I started feeling sick from how overwhelming the smell was when it was hang drying I mean it was too much almost and I been smoking this particular bubba since 08... it was some killer shit real talk...
