Thanks for sharing your thoughts and grow on the under current system.

Just wondered on your last grow if you had any issue with the roots getting too big and blocking the pipes or if that was a non issue for you?

I am on the fence about getting one of these systems, but I am truly getting mixed input about them. Your input would be much appreciated.

Thanks for your time

yeah I had the roots grow all the way into the return line and clogged it up thank god there was a filter. Solution was to pruin the roots at the ends a few days before the flip I haven't had that problem again thank god. Honestly I am having good results on this system I would definitely recommend getting one. Some people say it's all hype and what not but I like it... The ease of use is the best part and other then the ph swings I can't bitch too much... I say go for it if you have the money to set it up properly (chiller ect.) it's bad ass and the plants go crazy in this thing. I have done rdwc too and you have a better chance of a clog in that then you do in this.

Just to be all the way with the advice part I would definitely advise that you keep it clean meaning no kelp products in the system or anything thick that would leave a film as these are hard to keep clean if you do. My ph hasn't been swinging as much but I do experience some with hg fortunately I use it to my advantage now cuz I believe it's helping my plants uptake nutes better. I like it though... Get one that's my final answer :)

You must have a huge clone machine. That is a big Cut! Lol! Looking very nice though. The plants of course. ;)

Roflmao hell yeah that one is gonna have to get the cube treatment... Does anybody got a giant clear dome I can borrow? That would be a hell of a clone if I could get it to root... Talk about a head start :)

Thanks for your reply. I am positive I will be getting one. Just looks so fun.

Can you comment on how big the root mass was. I am sure it was taking up the bucket? I saw a little root porn as well.

Do you think if your system was the 13 gal instead of the 8 gal would you think the roots would still block or clog the pipes if you were to veg and do everything exactly as you did before? You flow me on that question. You are using the 8gal system right LOL Im baked. Shit I feel lost. confused. Hope you follow my train of thought.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge. And your bubba looks of da hook!

At the size I grow mine and if I would have did everything the same the answer would be yes there would have still been a clog in the 13's the roots grew retardedly and the root mass took up the whole bucket at the end of the grow.

This time around though because I pruned the roots in the 2 end buckets closest to the return and it has not been a problem since. Also my roots are like silky white ropes throughout the whole grow even at the chop they weren't really discolored like that.

My plants love the uc they grow so fast it's ridiculous if you get one you will love it I promise... This grow is going great... So great there is another 8 or 12xl that's about to be in my future in another month or so...

Thanks for that info.

I honestly feel the cc system is bad ace. Works really well thats why the roots explode.

I am sure to get one. It is a matter of me figuring out how to get everything in place. Chiller, RO water, etc. I am sure you know the details.

Thanks for your time my friend. I got this thread tagged and I got my popcorn ready.

Wait till you see these next pics I'm bout to rock this shit on this run just stay tuned...

Of course I love to help out that's why we are all here :)... I veg and flower in my uc all I do is a flush/nutrient change when I go from veg to flower and switch out my mh to hps. IMO a separate veg setup is pointless unless your running perpetual bloom rooms because your veg time in the uc if dialed in properly is like nothing especially with co2 as I found out on this run... My one piece of advice if you are gonna veg in the uc like I do is that you wanna use whatever the clone seedling dose is on your feeding chart almost all the way through veg... Maybe a little bump over that once they get bigger but less is really more in this system... UCHQ can probably fill you in on the science of why better then I can but to my understanding it's less salt clutter + ease of water uptake= plants that are constantly eating with extremely fast metabolism or in other words extremely fast growing plants. Pruin the roots in the 2 end buckets close to the return also before you flip to flower to avoid clogs... Dont go crazy or nothing but just snip all the ones that are longer then the rest cuz those are the ones that are gonna clog your return line...

Update... It's one day before week 4 and my uc just got done flushing over night... I just filled it back up with 40 gallons of aqua a+b at normal strength with part a cut back 20%, 2ml calmag, drip clean, bud xl, and exel lg. I magic greened yesterday and I got about 5 min left before my top off is complete. I dropped my co2 ppm to 800 and lowered my day temps to probably between 74-76 we will see if I have to adjust some or not. Night temps are now between about 64-67. And water temp as of right now is 65. Rh has been between 40 and 50 % in the day and 40-45% at night. Ph is at 5.5 and ppm is 980.... My plants are now about 5 ft. And the bottom half of every one of them is chopped... Get your popcorn out cuz it's about to go down from here on out... I'm so ready for this shit pics are coming after lights on stay tuned...

beautiful looking gurls...

just wanted to add that i agree, plants in the UC need support no matter what but especially with the way you stressed out the plant structure...

Man it's been super hot lately and with the addition of this co2 burner my 8000btu wasn't cutting it... My temp today wouldn't go down under 79 so I pulled out my dick and fucked the heat right in the ass... $150 later I now have 6000 more btu of cooling for that shit... That's 13000btu total for 2 air-cooled 1000w and a co2 gen and a 40pt dehumidifier and a chiller... Can you say my temp dropped to 74-75 within about 5 min of #2 being plugged in? I sure can lol I definitely see 72 degrees in the final 2 weeks in my immediate future... Rh is also in the high 30's as of right now. That will also be dropping shortly...

Super sick update QBM! You can also drop the chiller temps during the final flush before harvest... :cool

P.S. It's just me thinking out loud, but I wouldn't drop the RH below 30... :thinking
