Hey everyone. New to indoor grows.. maybe 3 months now. I'm focused on CBD rich strains.. my wife is pretty sick with really severe Crohns... had to put our careers on the back burner and moved from SoCal to US Northeast. Anyway, I have some background in genetics and am interested in the Alien strains and some breeding projects. Its been a steep learning curve but I know there's some mad skills here and just a ton of information. So far I've been learning and doing in realime which is a little painful and I'm seriously out of my league here but I'm happy to learn as much I can. Shout out to SoCal and 818. All my best..

Thanks Caregiverken.. very cool of you and genuinely appreciated! Its an Ayahuasca vine... have a much smaller version climbing around our sunroom at home :) I'm hoping if I'm conscientious about what I'm doing, my grows will help her out... that's the plan anyway. I will post as I can along the way. Thanks again.

Hi Chobble! Right now I'm growing out some Cannatonic. Its the only CBD strain I have experience with to be honest. I'm just using the Resin Seeds growguide and some recommendations from friends who have been growing for years. Do you have any favorite CBD strains? I'm trying to target pain relief and stress reducers... my wife internalizes stress quite a bit and that causes the Crohn's to manifest more aggressively, so if I can help to keep her headspace mellow, that's a plus. Thanks again for the welcome! Take good care.

Hope the CBD helps out your wife. Anything that helps with feeling upbeat and positive while dealing with gastrointestinal problems. Do you know about juicing? Really cool video "leaf" on youtube. Juicing may be a big help. Hope you share you're cannatonic grow with some photos. How many seeds of cannatonic did you sprout?

Thanks Leadsled. I'll check out 'Leaf' sometime this weekend. I sprouted 3 of 5.. kept two and have more seeds on their way.. mixed and femmed. I did get one pack that none germinated... that was a little frustrating. Not sure what happened there. I am starting a new grow under the new Inda-Gro 420 induction lights here in a week or so and can share the whole process if anyone is interested. I may hold off for a few extra days and start a few Cannatonics and some Alien seeds together. I'd like to cross it with Alien Tahoe F2. I have a 10 megapixel Pentax camera that should do ok. On the juicing side, we do have a pretty badass Breville stainless juicer.. it would have to be juice since some of the raw veggies tear her up. Thank you for the juice vid tip. All my best man!

So, we've been down the western medicine road for a while now.. gene therapy, pre-approval drug trials, blood boosting chemo, immunosuppressants, white diets, surgery, interventional radiology.. specialists in both SoCal and the Northeast. I'm not dissing western medicine but we want explore alternative & natural treatments at this point. We saw the Shona Banda video and all the oil info out there...I've been learning extraction techniques and working on a home CBD colorimetry testing methodology. We're new to all this but are motivated. I'm happy to contribute what I can with all the work I'm doing. I don't think it can compete with what I'm seeing here but its cool to have some extra support with this. I used to smoke quite a bit of herb back in the day but didn't keep up over the years. Given our location I'm kinda on my own since CBD rich strains aren't readily available. Anyway, that's pretty much it. Thanks again!

My goal is to get a 12+% CBD strain with heavy leaf oil production since I do oil extraction concentrates from the whole plant... Alien Napalm x Cannatonic sounds like a winner down the road.. at least in my head that's where I'm headed at this point.

Here is the video to make sure you can find it. Excellent video imho:

Mind sharing the different spots you got cannatonic seeds? If you do not feel safe sharing here,we can have a conversation once you have more posts.

Looking forward to the grow log.

If you can get your hand on Soma's Lavender, give that one a try. A Crohn's patient I have swears by it. Some clubs out there should have it

Thanks NaturalTherapy! I remember Soma's stuff from back in the day.. I grew out Free Tibet a few times and will pick some Lavender up. I don't have a huge grow space but I can squeeze one or two in. I appreciate the info. Take good care.

Testing image post... pic of my Ayahuasca vine for those who were interested in it. Small Chakruna plant in bloom on the sill next to it. Have a few small coca seedlings too that I recently started.. very touchy sprouts..

Excellent article.. thank you Leadsled. There's a lot of data that indicates that cannabis not only abates many of the symptoms but also that CBD is a regulator of the immune system (as well as neurological and metabolic systems). Some friends sent us lab produced oil from Cali and its working...it did kick my honey's butt for a few days but the TetraLabs GoldCaps have made a difference and will hold us over until I can produce larger quantities of oil myself with significant CBD in it. Thanks again Leadsled... that was cool of you.

I read that post in the CBD thread regarding CBD being genetically determined. At one point one of the contributors to the early Cannatonic testing; the woman that grew the plant that popped the first 13%CBD Cannatonic was indicating that environment variables were also at play: "I am focused on the effect of the changing light spectrum and active plant pigments influencing CBD," she adds, "and other antioxidant properties of marijuana." ( from: ) I've also heard comments about alternating between light sources and wavelengths also effect RNA replication which can effect cannabinoid & terpene production etc (i.e. switching from HPS to plasma induction). If there was some way to effect the CBDa to CBD conversion function in the plant, that would be very cool, although environment may end up playing little part in this process. I have no idea where to even post a question or topic like this but it may eventually come into play on this forum imo. Anyway, thanks again leadsled!

Happy to share, That is a horrible disease and I understand how anything that helps is worth a shot. I originally saw the article on michelle rainey dot com. Each person is different so need to find what works best for them. What works for one person may not work for another. Michelle Rainey had crohns disease and reported afgani bullrider worked well for her.

Ya, its a brutal disease in its later and terminal stages. This is the video we saw that pointed us in this direction. People take their loved ones all over the world for the best treatments available... I came to this site because you guys are the best in the world at what you do. Whatever it takes man... I'll pay my dues. My wife is at the later stages of Crohn's as well. Take good care brother.
