Day 52

First tap out. It took almost 30 hours.
I guessed right the small seed was most healthy or rather least bad.
Maybe one more is about to crack. It looks like the shell is a little open.
In this case i won't wait for the other two to get root because i'm unsure if they even can.
I'll pot it now tap down in a 10 cm 4 inch pot with pre fertilized store bought soil that i flush for fast nutes, because i don't have soil without fertilizer.

Rule of thumb with seeds. Soil cover about 1 - 2 x size of seed.

DSCI0576

The plants got some tea water today and i think i managed the dry spots. I was ready with water when light went on.

Miklyway F1 got some nice little frost but pinky size buds. Looks good apart from size.

Northern light x big bud on the other hand not so frosty. It never really got to settle after up potting and have this dark green shiny leaves. Starting to get a little brighter in the top though.

Quick update

Second seed tap out 37 hours from start.
Last seed open and probably tap out in few hours. So 3 out of 3. I was almost sure one of them were empty but ok
I'll pot them later today when the last tap is out.

Good thing they are better than they look.
That made the day better. 3 chances for a female. Got 2 females out of 2 last time, so probably some males this time. If all is males then i got 8 seeds more so np there

By the way, you guys ever heard about the guy that woke up wit a frog on his head??
Well he decided to go to the doctor and doctor asked - "what happened?"
"Well it started with a small pain in the ass" the frog said
Have a good saturday

They're so cute at that age😘

Day 53

Good news.
Turned out that the soil i bought last time is better. The PH range in it is as good as it can get, 6.2 - 6.8
It was only because it was on sale i decided to try it. 2/3 of price. Didn't even bother to read on the bag other than it was 100% organic because i couldn't remember correct PH range anyway.

So i quickly planted the last two seeds with tap root, in it. Too quick. Forgot to ad drainage in the two
DSCI0579

To recap the first step in germination.
All 3 seeds cracked and had tap root within 48 hour'ish. Fastest the small seed 30 hours. So the seeds was good enough.
Now the first one can break ground today. I still got some hours of light to check. Time will tell.
Oh btw next time i prepare the pots beforehand because the dirt was cold from flushing and it will give the root a small shock.

Here is my dark green Nothern light x big bud auto freebie compared to milkyway
DSCI0581

Getting a bit less dark but still too dark and not much tricomes.

My afghan kush ryder auto (not freebie)on the other hand looks good getting a bit more frost. Maybe because i give it a bit less light now? It is normally an early finisher 60 days i think they say. It is still very small though
DSCI0582

This one on the other hand is not small. 70 cm. Gorilla zkittles auto Freebie
DSCI0583

Starting to put on some weight slowly. I'm really excited for this one.
There gonna be lots of small buds i guess but hope for some big ones too. Probably an 85+ day'er
I like the "airy" look. I havn't removed any leaves other than dead + lower buds.
You can see that i left the two first branches and i shouldn't have. Too short. We learning we learning

The Milkkyway F1 auto freebie
DSCI0584

Looking really good. Very small buds like pinky size, but gonna be nice smoke.
Only thing i'm not a fan of with this one is the flowers dry too soon. It did that all the way from start. Probably my fault but it kinda stop the fattening of the buds.

But all considered things looks very good.

Day 54

First seed broke soil this morning and 2nd one half a day later and can be seen in my other tread.

Bud compare
DSCI0587

Milkyway left, afghan kush ryder in middle and last one is gorilla zkittles.
The photo don't show it clearly. It looks like there is some perspective going on because the afghan bud is ca. 3 x width of the clipper lighter.
Milkywas about same size as clipper and gorilla zkittles a bit smaller. The northern light x big bud (not in photo) is nearly the same as the afghan

Right now i'm trying to tune in feeding and watering the gorilla zkittles but i think i'm on the right track. I only found one dry flower on it so it has a long way to go.

Quick correction it was not 3 x size of the clipper but 2 x after i double checked sorry

Day Fiddywife

Ok i think the gorilla zkittles is ok now. I think the buds swell a bit more normal for this type now

Again today i gave it water and doubled the nutes.
A little against advice but the yellowing was to much for my liking and also because i think it is only half way through flower.
I also didn't make it clear that i hardly feed i mean it got only 3 tsp in nearly two months so i took that into consideration too.

But take a look at this branch
DSCI0588

I call that an even split. Havn't seen that one before.

The other three also looks fine.
Milkyway also getting yellow fan leaves fast now and got feed.

Afghan beautiful fall colors + the blackening is getting more and more. The buds can sometimes go all black but for now only the leaves.
I'll post a photo tomorrow

Northern light x big bud is also ok. I think it starting to ramp up a bit. Still dark green and shiny though. I gave it some plain water because i suppose the dirt has a lot more nutes in it as it sit in the most soil of them all.

Day 56

All looks good. Lots of yellowing on three of the plants.

Got some growt in the gnat population. I suspect the neem oil mix i made this time is bad. Doesn't seem to work very well. Oil looked darker and with debris in it.
4% with a little dishwash in it.
I did read somewhere that it should be stored out of light and not to hot and i kinda ignored that with a leftover i had.
I'll see if next mix is normal

I checked web site for finish time but it looks like they don't write it anymore, but i wrote it down and my notes say 70 days. Two weeks more.

I havn't tried this model but i tried the purple version, and that is a favorit.
This one don't have the citrus smell as the purple tend to have.

THC 18%. Hight 40 - 80 cm. Not this one. It's 30 cm and i average 50 g on them. This is probably little less because of the small size.
Relative easy plant to grow from world of seeds.

Tricomes not so dense on the upper/outer side of the plant and i think i was to close to the light. I moved it furter from light.

My neighbor asked about the smell so i consider pushing forward the ventilation to the outside project.

Day 57

Nearing harvest for some
DSCI0598

Breeder info:

Gorilla zkittles auto in the back corner: Around 70 days from seed

Northern light x big bud auto to the right: around 50 - 60 days from seed

Milkyway F1 auto in middle: around 70 - 75 days from seed

Afghan kush ryder auto to the left: around 60 days from seed

I could say early on that 70 days for the Gorilla zkittlez would not cut it.
It's supposed to be indica dominant but from the looks, my plant is a little more sativa than normal.
Both leafs and flowering tells me that.

Milkyway is the only one that have a chance to finish around the estimated time.

Tomorrow we maybe gonna look at some tricomes close up.

DSCI0592

Here is a teaser from the afghan

My neighbor asked about the smell so i consider pushing forward the ventilation to the outside project.
Not sure of your situation but for me I prefer to use the AC Infinity 6" exhaust fan and carbon filter vented into my lung room. I feel if I vented outside then I would have to "re-condition" all the new air taking its place (the dry air during flower and the humidified air during seedling and early veg as well as your climate controled space). It looks like you may be in a closet or small room where as I am in a 4x4 tent. If so I wonder if you could also use the 6" exhaust fan and carbon filter. Possibly letting the exhaust fan pull air through the carbon filter and keeping the door closed but still venting into the lung room/ grow room.

Just a thought.

Thanks @MercDod

Yeah it's a home build closet 1.4 m x 1 m - 2.2 m high, gypsum plates.

I don't have any thing to control my closet per say.
Thats also why i will try grow sativa this summer when humidity being high.
And because i never had any fungus on my plants other than one plant that got mold in the buds (That made me change my air circulation in the closet a bit), i'm not gonna change much.
So the vent to the outside is only to remove smell when they smell too much and to get humidity out in summer when late flowering.
It won't be running other vice.
The plants is not going to experience much more than if it was out side kinda, thinking temps and humidity.

The thing about organic vs synthetic is the pest resist. Thats also why they use so much toxins in modern farming.

That being said, once i get fungus or mold i will adjust again but i don't like fan noise, so if i can avoid it i'll take the less harvest.

Day 58

Just for show. The microscope i used had a bad color.

Here is with a more normal camera.

The milkyway F1
DSCI0601

Looks good irl but small.

And the afghan kush ryder
DSCI0602

More normal size buds but plant is only 30 cm high. Gonna give good for its size.
I'm working on minimizing the hairs glued to the buds a bit more.

My northern light x big bud
DSCI0603

The yellowing has slowed drastic down after better watering and even more nutes. I keep most of the fan leafs to look at. It looks a bit messy.
I use them to get better at growing.

So the one with big bud in the name has smallest buds.
They are swelling very slowly but the plant can still be a good yielder. Is that a word?

Day 59

DSCI0605

Going very good.

Yes i know it doesn't look like that for most of you. Thats ok

The small adjustments seems to be working very well.

What i have done:

Lovering the light amount, mainly on the indicas.
Reason: overside of the buds had a lot fewer tricomes.
Result: overside now looks notIsably better with more tricomes

Much more watering.
Reason: slow grow between watering. Hydrophobic soil. Nute uptake prolems. Dry spots in soil.
Result: Steady grow. Easy watering. Better nute uptake. Yellowing slowing down. And the very green one looking a bit more pale now.

More fertilizer.
Reason: I hardly havn't given any. And now my soil works, i think because of being wet or moist all the time.
Result: slower yellowing.

3 of them are at the point where i'm gonna start checking tricomes.

Day 60

Milkyway flowering off
DSCI0614

This grow i'm breaking new records.

I'm gonna have the smallest plants so far.

This one is 32.5 cm. Biggest of the 3 small ones. The others got topped. This one is in a much smaller pot than i normal use though.
The positive take is i had more room for the plants.

Anyway it's getting out of flower and i think i saw the first orange trichomes yesterday. Maybe because the trichomes got damaged? We'll see.
35 g incoming

Going very good.

Yes i know it doesn't look like that for most of you. Thats ok
Anybody judging any of it can get bent! : ) you are rocking and rolling it dude! Of course there are those pristine grows with farmers who have been doing this a very long time. Getting a run from start to finish is huge, and to have a harvest worth something at the end is even more impressive! keep up the awesome work! 💪✌️

Yeah @BearWater so true.
I try not to compare me to other. I compare more to what i learn.
And as long i have an idea on how to make them look better, i'm happy.
Two of these plants is gonna be good anyway. The two others is gonna be smoked too. One is just too green and the other very fluffy.
If not by me, then i know some who don't smoke much. I just give it to them and they tell me it is strong LoL✌️

Just to clarify i wasnt trying to say you are judging and you should get bent! : ) ✌️ I get what you are saying also about you judging yourself to others : ) i do the same thing “oh man look at those nugs, wish i could do that!” kind of thing.

thats awesome you have some folks to share with! the few people i know who smoke at all quit recently🤣 so im my own critic, so i just pat myself on the back LOL! ✌️

Well for what its worth.... Fluffy buds, when almost dry, can be placed into a ziploc bag and try to suck out as much air as possible. Let sit for an hour and repeat. After the second time, let em sit for 24hrs....... Buds will be nice and tight now 😉
