Hi yall, I just wanted to introduce myself. I am growing for the first time 1 single strawberry cough strain (from clone). I have a few questions about pruning my baby. She has already been topped on her main stock about 4 nodes up. She is grown outdoors. My question is should I trim her up and start topping all the tops. I feel like she could use some grooming, but I want to do it right! Any advice is welcome. Thank you!

Looks nice man from what I can see in the pictures there you are rite in track with your assumption there are many many different ways to pruning and topping your plants and it all depends on your growing style, time frame and available space and or desired size of plant if you want to keep it really basic for your first grow just go ahead and top all the canopy tips at this point and leter go feeding and watering on a regular schedule and don't forget to transplant her after a while they need lots of root space to get best results however if you want to get a little more detailed you could go with an LST or a caged grow with this girl with ease but again this is dependent on what you want as an end result (Without knowing what you want and having an end plan no one can help you much) good luck and happy farming I'll help ya where I can just ask

what size pot? looks kinda small imo
try and transplant to the biggest pot you can get your hands on
if you want low profile bushy plant I'd try and top once more
if height won't matter much let it go as is
once it starts getting bigger you can trim some of those inner branches off(make clones outta them;))
Seriously though think about getting at least a 65 gallon smart pot
you won't regret it

Welcome to the farm! How long has it been in that pot, and what kind of soil are you using? If it's been in that pot for more than a few weeks then I'd up pot it to a large pot like @rubthe nub was suggesting. With the topping its more a preference situation depending on if you want a wide bushy shrub or a tall x mas tree type plant

I'm using 100% organic potting soil with perlite. It's in a 5 gallon pot. It's been in that pot for about 4 weeks.

Trust me, you'll have more problems if you leave it alone then if you repot

it will out grow that 5 VERY soon.
it's only mid June, it's going to be in that pot until early to mid Oct.
that's at LEAST another 10-12 weeks of active growth plus 8-10 weeks in flower.
65 gallon smart pot should cost ya less than $20.
you need about 7 cubic feet of soil, not sure what will run maybe $80? idk depends on your shop or what you buy
the yield will be well worth the investment:D

Try Fox Farm oceanic forest it's all organic and feeds your plant with everything it needs all you'll have to do is Alittle LST and water it. Good luck I've grown mostly outdoors but I've switched to indoor and am currently working on my first op, this is an Alien OG I'm experimentIng with I started it as a seed about a month ago it's got nothing but the fox farm ocean forest soil and water and it's super healthy, just transplanted it today. This website is the best once you figure it all out.

to clarify i wasnt suggesting not repotting but as to the original question of tiping and cleaning . However im not sure she needs to go to a 65 gal pot eithier . I wouldthink a 20 gal would suffice unless you want to grow a monster tree

@JayJr814 that is completely un true and uninformed advice yes it has micorize vermeculite and fish bone meal but that is in no way complete nutrients

Welcome to farm and you could top to keep her short n bushy or leave her its a preference and you could opened her up by lst'ing (bending) and you can trim lowers that are close to dirt but no need to trim any leaves above thats her solar panels and where she stores her energy. I also agree about getting a bigger pot if your growing her outdoors or she will get rootbound i also would say go with a geo or smart or super air pot will help stop her from getting bound and allows you to grow in a much smaller plant outdoors say a 25 gallon would be amazing and a nice 1st run for you to learn. Any help dnt hesitate to ask. If you want meet a great group of growers come hang out on the Tnelz thread about whatever thread.

Also i agree with @Ned Kelly about pot size & @KiLoEleMeNt about fox farm ocean forrest is by no means a super soil it is however it is semi amended but in no way will get you through a whole grow with out adding additional nutrients and micro nutrients, benificial bacteria and fungi etc.

I am growing a bunch of other flowers and vegetables and I used this for them. So I just used it for miss Mary as well.
