Browns are predators of the highest level,Ive seen them loaded with mice like that in streams and lakes, they will take snakes, mice, ducklings etc. Here in cali up at twin lakes in the sierra they troll trout imitating lures 10'' long, sometimes more, sizes you would use in the ocean and they whack the shit out of them.

I think the record here is 28lbs or so but they get alot bigger in new zealand, this is what your after there,

I would not even fish any small flies/lures,Big browns wont expend the energy on little meals.Im not a flyguy(yet, lol)but IME Big baits=Big fish. You get bit alot less but the fish you get are worth the wait.

You would be surprised on what goes on under water
It's amazing that trout can see bugs as small as Ants and eat thousands daily
Their eye sight is incredible

Off we go to Winton to visit long time friends 33 years since last visit
Will see my friend John who myself and him once had a drinking completion on the pub
The challenge was guzzling beer and gin
I slammed down 15 pints of beer in about 45 mins to his 15 double shots of gin
Was so full could not drink any more
Suddenly The bar man said quick Cedrick grab the chunder bucket the yanks gonna spew
I spewed up all that beer and the crowd went wild
Contacted him a few years ago and he has been sober for 20 years
Also meeting Lofty another good mate
Meeting these folks is very dear to me
Wow what a life
I'm the luckiest man on the world

Wonderful folks
As real and down to earth as it can be
Both lofty and I cried
He is 79 years old doing well
He found this mower. At the rubbish tip the dump where he also met his wife
Amazing and wonderful day

Here is a little Maori for ya @chickenman Mā te Atua me te wāhi ngaro tātou e tiaki e manaaki

Translation is : May God and the origins of which all things come from, bless and keep us.

Ko taku reo taku ohooho, ko taku reo taku mapihi mauria

My language is my awakening, my language is the window to my soul
