The bitching comes from being invested in the community. I participate in the community, on town boards, the task force writing mmj and recreational town code. I have good relations with most of the BOT and town administration, local PO and Fire, some of the Boulder Sheriffs up here.

When the town administrator tells me face to face whats coming down the line with pot growers and town. When I saw with my own eyes, the map of known grows in Ned, the map complied by town and handed over to the feds. When my kids play soccer with gilpin sheriffs and I have a chance to chat…… I pass the info on….

Never fails- the new kids on the block always talk shit about the old timers, not thinking/knowing what's come before.

The fact- FACT- that you've seen the real weedmap of what's going to be FEDerland when/if the next administration decides to crack down tells me that you know what you're talking about- and that all the 'playas come lately' are a lot closer to the edge of the cliff than they think.

It also tells me that you've made an investment in your community, and that only happens over time. Respect.

Good point. And this is at the heart of what I hear from other growers/personal experience.
Which then in turn adds to the NIMBY attitude of some areas.

At the same time, the more easy pickings around, the easier it is for the other fruits to not be eaten.

I mean, the DTF hasn't been to my house in quite some time. I think others are keeping them busy.

No offense to the old mountain folk. It is just a trait I've picked up on living here my whole life. It's really just older people in general have more to bitch about.
It sucks when your town gets overrun, but there are plenty of good places still in CO, easier for me to move around than you I'm sure.

First/Last/Security....yup...definitely easier to relocate in that situation...far easier than some of us old folks could ever pull it off with the chains we've made...but ultimately very costly for the >luxury< of being able to move when you please (aka, never owning anything/paying someone else's mortgage.) Well a lot depends on cost of ownership.
Unless you own it outright, you're paying 'rent' too. Rent on 'money' to 'own'. Soon that 400K home become a million.
Especially those that got speculative.
If you're willing/can to sell at market, then the liquidity is still there...Just a lot of 'hopeful' sellers out there, still want bubble prices.

I think wifi and kids are the big hurdles to mobility.
Otherwise it is just a question of 'how bad you want it?'

Yeah...we're all "renting". It's just that when you "rent" via a mortgage you build equity and >eventually< end up with something to show for your outlay of cash. When you merely rent and can't swing/qualify for the mortgage, you are building someone else's equity and will have nothing to show for the same outlay of cash.

Fortunately, no spec here....just wise investments at the right time that are STILL worth 4X what I have invested....even at the "bottom" (and after 30 years....I now >own< 2 of the 3 houses I >was< "renting").

So yes...yer right....the 400K is now worth about 1 mil...just like ya said! Funny how that works.

I go to my MMA gym for a work out. But I come to thcfarmer.com if I want a good fight and insults. These guys on this site must be some bad ass Men cause they sure talk a lot of shit. Almost everyone talks shit, but not you SeaMaid. But what would be the point of a chat room if we all complimented each other. that would be boring. We dont talk down and argue,,, NO no, we go for the throat, most, in Colo know who am cause of my court bullshit, but I could care less about the insults . Im talking to worlds best growers but of what importance does anyone serve me on this site, we should ignore insults or laugh em off.

Have these guys been in the same room together, if so, do they interact well together?

Lino, the cats from Colorado whom I've met and hung with were great people. We definitely do not all agree on a whole bunch of stuff, but the ones I've met are also grown-up enough to understand that's how life is.

I can Insult you if you like. I'm usually stationed in the Debates & Argument Department, though. Sometimes I cover Insult Department and customer service because I'm well-trained in all three.
(We are technically a clinic, but we have departments within the clinic. Arguments, insults, cuddling, sunshine-blown-up-ass, etc.)

My two children have fought since they were born and put into competition at 4 yrs old, wrestling, freestyle greco, sambo, MMA. We trained at my club , the Northglenn Scorpions Wrestling Club. I was elected president of the largest wrestling league this side of the Mississippi , Metro Wrestling League so if you hit mat before HS ya might know of me. I co-Author the proposal to Olympic Committee that will bring back wrestling to Olympics. My gyms are known for 2 things;my students stayed with me for usually 15 years and we're known for wgt cutting with twist. If a 50lb 8yo cut 5 lbs , Both Parents had to maintain wgt all season and drop 5 lbs 1 day before their child made wgt.... Parent who failed wgt cuts were not allowed at events. Aggressive, abusive parents were invited to Ol Timers tournaments as an option to stay on my team. MMA - My sons work and fight at Zingano's gym Broomfeild (Cat Zingano). many of my other students that I have mentored have moved on to other MMA and boxing gyms , And respect out to Grudge Gym,,..
