One more comment, so what is their plan, for all disp to carry the same factory grown meds? So in sacramento we have maybe 30 disp, and all 30 will in the future carry the same boring strains, same shitty quality? What sets disp's apart now is there selection and quality, I really cant see disp's using only oakland meds...

Bad move for any disp in my opinion. Hell I drive 60 miles to get meds from fruitridge and northstar, there certainly are closer disp, be no reason to make the drive anymore. I am sure many places will loose business operating like that.

Maybe Ridge or Nstar can chime in and give their opinion.

soley reading the first post, my little opinion on this matter is this: They seemed to be referencing this post in junction with the possibility of legalization in CA come Nov. So with that possible legalization, in would come the 4 factories.

I read a post that said they would grow 8 X strains, and all we'd have to do is supply the 9th X strain, that is def the approach we'd have to go down if it never gets legalized or these factories go up.

The only good thing with the legalization would be that it would give us 'real' jobs, and pissing clean, with massive levels of THC, and it be perfectly legal.

Because in my head the world is a general utopia based on 2 options:

Its legal, and we all get to grow, sell, and smoke our own...basically like we've been doing, just with giant profit decreases. And they get their factories or w/e and we can all get actual jobs that can pay actually.

OR

It will remain illegal and things will stay they same, bc it seems like the politicians will put this on the fiscal teeter-totter. Wether making these factories for CA is ok, or keeping it illegal and taxing our asses hard when ppl get busted, not to mention the millions of dollars in assets and bank accounts also seized under federal law.

To me it makes more sense and $$$ for the Gov. to keep it just as it is...

Sorry sir... but you are wrong. I am not sure if you have heard but one of the lead doctors for the VA has recomended the use of MMJ for veterans within their mmj legal states. Guess what... you can use this medical marijuana rec in federal court. Which in turn could be used for civilians eventually.

Sorry but prop19 is a farce and only serves the persons who drafted it as it does nothing to further the legalization cause.

Also... with prop 19 more people will end up in jail than ever.... turns a simple infraction into possibly a 6month stay in the state pen all with a 1000.00 fine.

It sure will run a few marginal shops out of business but it will strengthen most that run tight ships. There is no way that a facility that produces 21,000P's can produce the same level of quality that a dedicated pro can. no way. we have to look at this as a thinning of the flock, and a neccessary step to legalization. Prohibition ending put alot of stillers out of business but look at all the microbreweries. I know I will pay a bit more for something different and on the next level of quality.

i hate it when people use this comparison. how many microbreweries you think there are? not very many compared to the amount of growers. how much more is a microbrewery making per 6 pack as apposed to generic big name beer? maybe 5-10 bucks tops. whip-ty-fuckin doo. at least you can compare it to the wine industry which kind of makes sense. but the whole beer comparison is ridiculous. either way, prop 19 is not a good move for the cannabis scene what so ever. if you think it is then your ignorant. point blank.


my point is if they drive the price down to a point so low, it doesnt matter if you have the best herb in the world, it still wont be worth anywhere near what it is today. and it wont be worth it to grow indoors when your not making shit per pound. you would still have to produce 100's of pounds, which in turn, kills small/medium growers. basic economics.

If the DEA lets this stand then I am seriously considering starting a Union of growers from Socal and Norcal. It would be one huge Cooperative Like Sunkist Oranges or REI the Sporting goods company. I've been looking into it for several months now and I really think we need to make a move. Its going to wind down to us being competitive or not . We have to get organized! Please PM me if you would be willing to possiblly meet with an Attorney I know or If you have a good Union lawyer that has allready worked in the Cannabis industry and maybe a Union Rep.We need to have a general conference of small , mid and large growers. yes, but you have to remember that the majority of patients want the best deal, and will sacrifice quality for it. ask any club owner, their top sellers are the mid-low grade meds, not the top shelf. the folks looking for premium meds will most likely boycott, but that only represents a small portion of the entire medical community.

we just need to get out and vote no on prop 19.
