the trip home

I had to drive over to Portland and get her. When I got her home and took the bag off of her pretty face I was pleased. Not a bad lady for 20.00 at 3 feet tall and bushy as fuck! No bugs and healthy for the most part. Soil was dry as a bone so first thing I did was give her a mild feed with some Earth juice tea I had brewed up. I let her acclimate and drink and get light for about 4 hrs. Then I transplanted her into a 5 gal. pot with a mixture of sunshine pro mix & FFOF. She was root bound to the hilt in her dirt bag but roots looked fuzzy white & healthy. Shortly after the transplant she went into 12/12 flower room under 1000k HPS & got her bloom nutes. These are the pics of her right after we got her home.:harvest:

24 hrs. later

First pic is from last night. The others are from tonight, 24 hrs. later. She looks so much happier. Notice:rasta: the color in the stem. This should be a keeper.

How's that? My sources up here in the PNW assure me it's Mendo Purp crossed Bubba Kush. That's more likely from the looks & smell of mine.

yeah, its supposed to be from hawaii, but really its a kenyan landrace.

While growing, it offers promise and hope of big yields, but all it does is waste your time, cost you money, control your life and :sign0055: You in the end.

Obama week 5

Yeah I've got some leaf burn from my lights being a bit too close but here it is at week 5 of 12/12. She is showing some promise and hope still. I'm thinking she's gonna be some nice smoke.

I have seen that cut floating around in Portland a few times. I never grew it out though. Westcoast did the best job I have seen anyone grow the strain. Rob'z is looking pretty good also.

Robz, how'd it turn out? Not bad for $20.
Just to get it straight tho... Mendo Purp x Bubba Kush. Right?

The Bush-Cheney Kush was completely unsmokable. Wouldn't touch that again, not sure of my opinion on the Obama. I'd prefer something else, but there's no honest strains left.

I honestly hate it when strains those kind of names. The worst are strain names like Ice, Chrystal, LSD, Opium, et cetera. Try telling your boy you have one of those strains via text!

Charlie Sheen, The White, Green Tea come to mind as some more bad names (the last two of which I'm growing).

Sometimes the breeders just didn't consider the communication problems created from choosing an inappropriate strain name.

I haven't grown Mendo or Bubba, but I can say that it's doen't looklike The SFV plant's I've seen

I would have to say that it is probably a pretty shitty tasting, low yeilding, rip off strain. But with pics like that, it looks bomb as hell. Never heard of it, though.

obama kush

I have it in my garden right now. So far its doing awesome. Smells very kushy. Never ran the mendo purps so idk, but it doesn't resemble my bubba at all. Definitely not slow growing like the bubba. The fingers on her look sativa-ish. Thin, and the biggest ones dont get any longer than about 6''. My bubbas get almost a ft long and hella wide. So far the obama seems cool. Very vigorous growth. Growing like a xmas tree.:harvest:

Look, I'll give you the truth about the Obama bush, which is its original name. The strain was birthed in nor cal. And genetically it is master kush, and cindarella 99. I'm sure of it, I know the person that made the strian.

LOL @bigreb... While yer right about it being bred in NorCal...your genetic claims are way off...as well as the name Obama Bush being erroneous...and...I don't think you know me.

It's entertaining (slightly) reading threads like these...the misinformation is far to often ridiculous.

I made the hybrid Mendocino Purple Kush (Mendo Purple x Bubba Kush) back around 2006...my boi up in Portland scored a big bag of trim off me from the run those seeds were made and found a handful of viable seeds in the bag...he cracked 'em and named his two favorite phenotypes George W. Kush & Obama Kush...no hearsay here, no empty rhetoric, just the straight up facts. :cigar:

For the record...I'm personally not a fan of the name but I really don't care about the politics associated with it either...if it bothers ya just call the bitch "O". :jimlad:
