Mini update:

My mate and I spent this afternoon building the new flower room and fitting the new area out for amazing ventilation. Neither of us had any decent weed, and after a couple of hours wrestling with ducting I made a couple of calls and went out to go score.

On the way up there I was behind a car doing about 30mph. All of a sudden the car brakes HARD and from out of nowhere. I brake hard. The car's rear end is getting closer. I brake harder still and lose the front and go down. Bike lands on my leg. Major ouch. Broken tibia. Ambulance. Nitrous Oxide. X-Rays. More Nitrous. Discharged.

Am now at home wearing a below the knee plaster and on crutches for the next few weeks. They almost kept me in overnight because it looked like a broken ankle (and therefore would need an op to set it with nails etc) and all I could think about through all the pain was "FUCK WHAT ABOUT MY PLANTS". Thank goodness it's tibia not ankle and I was sent home.

The good news is that the flower room is SO nearly complete. The vents are cut in the walls and both input and output fans installed, with ducting and that fuckoff MAHOOOSIVE phat filter (6"). Also cut down one side of the new DR120 by hacksawing off 2cm, and it worked a treat. Also cut holes in the back of the tent for rear venting straight out the wall....loads of duct tape and it's lightproof. Gonna be v. v. sexy but now I have to get a fan controller because it's going to be too cold.

Anyhow, I better go water the plants and get my leg up pronto. Going to give them a quick drink of pH water to save me the hassle and time of mixing nutes.

The fucked up thing is I desperately need to get my girls into flower. Fingers crossed my mate is going to come over tomorrow and do it all for me because I can't!!

Crazy...I overcame the space obstacle, then the power obstacle, then the money obstacle....and STILL I managed to break my leg before the mission was accomplished (and ironically going to score). Life eh?!

Damn FF......I'm really sorry to hear about the leg man! Ouch isn't the word for it. It IS good that you have a good friend that can help out with the girls though. You'll be "golden" soon. :)

Hey man, sorry to hear about the injury, but Im sure that you will be able to still tend to the garden somewhat... Hanging around in the growroom is the best medicine I know of...Well other than what comes outta the garden :D

I can't wait till you get these ladies into flower either FF! Im about to flip mine to 12/12 as well, so it looks like we may be harvesting around the same time!

Good luck with the injury and your garden my friend!

Fuck that sucks. Cars are your worst enemy on a bike. Could be worse, but who wants to deal with a broken leg. Sorry to hear man. How's the bike?

Thanks for the kind words guys...

Rocky - "nice scripts" - LOL! This is the British National Heath Service we're talking about. After over an hour of writhing in pain on a bed with no-one attending to me I shouted out "will someone PLEASE help me with this pain" - only to have the nurse shout back "shouting about it won't help - be quiet and be brave". I waited over 2 hours with a fractured tibia before I got any pain relief beyond bloody nitrous. I very nearly dialled 999 to ask for help from a hospital!!! Trust me, you don't ever want to have an accident in the UK...9/10 you get worse than you were going in...

Hererisssh - bike is looking messy...lots of plastic damage and lights/indicators out. I can't afford to fix it and I'm only 3rd party insured. Might be time to get rid of it and get a 2nd hand smaller engine...like a cheapo 125 or something...

TA-DAAAAAH! Sticks and stones (and bikes) may break my bones but this farmer will never surrender - WE DID IT!!

Flower room is up and fully functional \o/

Photos below. The only real issues atm are:

- temps: need a fan controller bigtime - the 6" fan is a bit meaty and because the input is outside it's a tad cold in there (70f). Have got the 4" input off for the time being. Also, it's 77% rh....

- light leaks: the DR120 tent is very nice but the zips are very leaky and not covered at all. Bit of a pain in the ass but not much I can do

So...this is Day 1 of 60-something. In the tent are 3x Violator Kush (2 indoor, 1 outdoor) and 1x White Widow (which I'm fairly sure is a boy but was the best of a bad bunch). Not bothering to keep a mother, just going for it.

Details:

EC: 1.5 (canna coco, hygro, rhizo)
pH: 5.8
temps: to be confirmed :)

That's the input but it's off atm...but I hear you....first thing to get after the fan controller are some trays or saucers. I take my plants out to water so it should be fine if they're in trays.

"be quiet and be brave" - not quite Florence Nightingale was she

fuck the plastics, may be time to go streetfighter. Downgrading sucks but nothing there's wrong with 125's, just ask valentino rossi ;)

I like the parabolic approach, people grow real trees that way.

I'm smoking one for you FF, I'm sure your pain and mood will improve considerably after 30 days of 12/12 and the flowers are blooming

Thanks man...I had exactly the same thinking about the expensive plastics...going naked rather than streetfighter. I may have no option...need to check out the forks. 125s rock - I started out on Vespas and Runners.

I broke both my arms at the same time on a yz125. Doing things i wasnt capable of doing lol. I cant belive they didnt perscribe you any meds. Maybe go see a orthopedic doctor. When i broke my arms i felt absolutely no pain when it happened. I was wearing a jersey which had long sleves. I sat down on a dirt hill, rolled up the sleves and saw there was obviously someting wrong. I guess it had to do with shock, i started feeling very nauseus then finally the pain started setting in. I was only 16 or 17 at the time, and the closest hospital was a childrens hospital, so i went there. Guess what they gave me for pain. 2 fucking advils and a glass of water. I went to an orthopedic doctor the day after next i think, he set my arms which was painful and put me in full arm casts =[. But i did get some nice meds after all.

Hey your plants look sexy tho!

Cheers...I've ordered a fan controller to arrive tomorrow. I noticed it was 60f this morning, which means it will have been 40-50 in my tent...chilly plants :( The only good news I can think is that this is 1st week of 12/12 so the shock might do them some good?

My wife called NHS Direct yesterday and went and picked me up some tramadol and co-dydramol for the pain. The co-dydramol don't do a whole lot, but the tramadol are knock out drops. I got about 4 hours sleep last night for the first time since Sunday. And thank bob I've got some green...it really does work for pain! I don't know what I've had done without it. If anything else it helps divert attention away from the pain. I can't wait for the day they stick a vape in my mouth in A&E instead of nitrous! :)

Am off to see a specialist today at 1.45pm...they'll sort me out....

I'm going into hospital tomorrow afternoon to have the bottom of my leg pinned, which means I'm going to be in overnight and then at home with my leg up. This is bad news for watering the plants.

My plan is to feed everyone today whilst I still can, then fill 2 x 20l buckets and mix up some nutes (light veg for the kids, flower for the girls) so that my wife can feed them. I don't expect her to be able to lug out 11l litre pots from the tent (she's v. pregnant) so I'm going to tell her to use the watering can and water until she can see drips. I figured anything she can do will be better than nothing. That should keep the plants covered for 24-48 hours and by then I should be able to be mobile enough to do it myself, or mix up another batch. My mate is back from Spain on Saturday, so he can help then.

Man FF, I really feel bad for you. I had pins in my knee, and in my ankle (same time....shattered knee, is why) and I truly DO know how you feel. Keep that chin up as best ya can though and you'll be back on your feet soon. Just be SURE to take it easy as you recover. My doctor said the majority of his patients didn't listen to orders, then complained when the bones wouldn't heal correctly. I listened and now have NO PAIN in my knee.

Anyhow, just wanted to wish you the best in your recovery bro!

Cheers PGW. The doctor insisted that I didn't wait for the pain to hit by taking strong narcotic based analgesia, so I'm following his instructions. It's not such a hardship :) (but in all seriousness, the effect of MJ is 100% better/nicer and if anything makes the strong stuff work better)

Mini update - will try and shoot photos tomorrow:

Mrs FF kept my plants alive whilst in hospital the past 4 days. In order to keep things simple and quick for her, she gave my veg plants Formulex, Hygro, Rhizo @ 5.8 instead of Coco A+B. The big girls outside in flower got proper late veg juice - should be okay but not been able to get out there yet to check. And sod's law it's bloody hot here again...and heat + coco + not watering = bad (albeit temporary and these girls are only in week 1 of 12/12).

Prop Room: all plants are about 8-12 inches tall and I reckon some could be ready for flowering. Need to take photos to ask/check..maybe a week or two more. Keeping them in the prop tent under the fluoros.

Veg Room: 2 x female lowryders budding very nicely. Changed the 400 MH out for a 400 HPS that was delivered whilst in hospital...so they're now getting 18/6 of HPS, which should add to their weight. I've been adding some Boost into a modified mix because the LRs are touchy for nutes, and are relatively small...so went with light veg schedule adding in small amount of boost. Gotta try to maximise what I can get off these two.

Also, the last outdoor LR turned out to be male. Big balls. He's dead now :)

Flower Room: no idea...will check tomorrow...3 x Vio and 1 x WW....should be okay....

Some toys that arrived: LED panel (red+blue for cabinet clone room), 750x750mm black perspex sheet for top of small budbox, to make table/work space (need to cut out vent hole), primair fan controller. Will get them sorted asafp....

Photos tomorrow or later if I can stand up for long enough

Totally unrelated to my grow but thought I'd chuck in here anyway.

Finally got the clone LED box setup (30 quid ebay, red+blue, 30x30cm) and put it into the drawers. My clones have also rooted and so I've put them in there on a 12/12 to determine the sex of the outside plants. Covered with blackout material and duct tape.
