Ok,now I want to set myself up for a summer grow, so I’m plan on growing a sativa dominant strain known as Slymer x Wilson. I’m choosing a sativa dominant strain because I have a feeling this summer is going to be a hot one.
I have luckily had no mold or Pm issues in my tent ever, is it absolutely necessary to wipe the tent down? Last time I wiped it down, I diluted h2O2 with water and wiped all surfaces down. I would do the same this time, I’m just feeling lazy about it at the moment.
I’d also like to add that I plan on trying Royal Gold Tupur mix, as I already have enough for a grow. For nutes I plan on trying Jacks 321 as I have a decent amount of it already as well.

Any thoughts tips or suggestions?

This morning I added the 3rd light bar to the setup. Got it running, now I plan on wiping most of the interior Down with h2o2 and tap water. End of this week I’ll probably germinate 6 -8 of the slymer x wilson seeds. Should be getting the sex testing kits this week also and get them in time to use them.

Should I start a new thread for that one or continue in this thread here?

OK! Starting the germination on some more plants last night, Slymer x Wilson, soaked 8 seeds in URB Natural for 45 min, then put the into a soaked and squeezed paper towel. The idea is to get at least 4 females, I’m going to be using the farmer freeman’s ez xy testing kits to determine Sex at an early age so I’m not wasting anything on males. If I have more females than I can handle, I might post those up later!
Ok this run will be grown in Royal Gold Tupur mix, with Jacks 321 for nutrients. I’ve never used URB, so I’m trying it out, I’ll probably alternate microbes between URB and recharge once a week. Mostly because I still have a bunch of recharge.
I think I have the seedling thing down, just needed to see it grow firsthand (last grow), so I might have better luck this time with Jack’s.

Any questions comments or constructive criticisms, please let me know!!

The Plan:
Medium:Royal Gold Tupur coco mix
Nutrients: Jacks 3-2-1
Strain: Slymer x Wilson
Tap water

Allllllright!!!! So after about 48 hours +/- soaking in a paper towel I had 6/8 showing taproots, so I decided to plant them in their solo cups this morning, not sure when I’d get home from work so I did it sooner. I figure since people plant directly into mediums that I’m not going to worry about the two not showing roots. So I ph’d some water to 5.8 and sprayed them down a bit and put some ziplock bags on for humidity, I’ll take them off as they start to poke out of the coco.
Wish me luck, last time I tried coco I killed seedlings, hoping I get it right this time. If I can guide someone who’s never done it to success, I should be able to do it too, right? Lol

Thinking now, I didn’t initially soak the cups before planting, but I did saturate them pretty well, just having a oaranoid moment of being too dry

So, woke up this morning and saw 4/8 popping up out of the coco, I’m taking this as a good sign. Going to start with some Jacks this week at some point. I want them to grow a little more first but I want to get it wet with some food too!!

I do large batch Pheno testing And have a little trick about finding males. I have an independent to buy to 10tAnd have a little trick about finding males. I have an independent 2x2 tent set up for it on 12/12. I will take a cutting off of each plant and put it in a solo cup with some light nute solution. I can fit a lot in there at once. After about a week, they start transitioning and walla i know definitively what sex they are. If I was only doing a few plants here and there I wouldn't do that but since I do a lot at once, I need to know quickly

Yeah if I had room for another tent, I’d have mother plants :p lol
I was thinking of doing something similar on a smaller scale for 2-4 plants and a cfl bulb or two and just have they on 12/12 until it shows.
But I have these sex testing kits I want to try and already have, so, we will see how this goes!

sweet..
seedlings don’t need any nutrients until the two small round cotyledon leaves yellow and die, a sign that the seedling has used up the food to start life..
trying to push a marijuana plant at any stage with food, light.. etc will only cause problems and affect yield big time..

Woohoo! So, next day, two more little seedlings pop their heads out of the coco!!!
So that is 6/8 seeds popping u now, hoping the other two will be right behind them, as when I was germinating them there were 2 they had not cracked yet, so I’ll keep up with them for the next week or two and see if they pop, I’m just watering when I notice them looking dry on top of the coco.
Also under GNick’s advice I probably won’t feed them for a little while, I’d rather not wait till they show deficiency though, so maybe when they get to a certain height. Not trying to force them, just give them what they need when they start needing it. Those who I’ve followed and guided using these nutes in coco have started from as early as seedling to finish with no big issues plus with my last run, the cotyledon’s didn’t turn yellow before fan leaves for showing signs of deficiency, BUT, different strain, so different needs!

@GNick55, I’ve been reading all over the net and finding that almost every coco based site or info says to feed the seedlings after the first serrated leaf has grown in, is that correct or should I wait another 5-7 days before hand? Just been using Ph’d water.

Have had ziplocks over them for humidity reasons and they all look good! 7/8 seeds popping isn’t too bad considering. I’ve been putting the bags on before lights out and taking them off when they pop back on/ when I get home. Nothings dying yet!!!!

Here is a little
Video from this morning. Last watered was saturday (with a super low ppm amount of nutes (480ppm)
They look decent except the last one, which is the last one that popped and immediately was stressed, like it got woken up lol
I have a heavily variegated Plant also, hoping it will grow out of that one. Waiting to check @ lights on to see if I need to water again right now. Or tomorrow. Lifting says water, I just don’t want to OVER water like I’ve done in the past with coco

Here we are this morning. Have a few mutations and short bus rejects in the mix lol.
So far they have gotten 2-3 fertigation a with light nutes and have responded well I think. Despite the individuals mutations/ issues they are starting to grow every day.
