Hey fellas,

To get the thread back on topic... Here's my latest harvest.

Purple Cindy (Purple Oregon Thai x C99) from seed (Highgrade) in 5 gal Smartpots under 600w.

Last is an Afghan Kush starting week 7 today.

Damn Jack! That looks mighty fine...nice work. What is the purple oregon thai a cross of?

I only use molasses in my Actively Aerated Compost Tea (AACT) during the veg. cycle.

Sugars are only beneficial to feed bacteria . When trying to produce buds, you should cut back/off on sugars (to lower bacteria) and add more Humic Acid to increase fungal development. A high fungal colony helps uptake Phos. Good for fruits and flowers.

I'm afraid most of the information about sugars helping to increase bud size and sweetness is unconfirmed rumors. I'm sure I'll get flamed for this.

This is based on my experience with organic soil, and my limited soil microbiology knowledge. YMMV.
From what I have gathered...Molasses is three way goodness..a cheleating(sp) agent, a carb, and provides good levels of phosphorous, but it is interesting to hear that less bacteria and more fungal is a positive, so providing them with sugar is self defeating...I wonder is this applies to coir as well...

mountainman- Purple Oregon Thai is a cross between a first generation land-race Chocolate Thai and a first generation land-race Oaxaca Gold (according to the breeder).
The C99 is Jack Herer x Shiva Skunk.

I'm not sure about coco. I have heard people who use bottled nutes in soilless mediums, have tremendous results when they incorporate molasses, due to the chelating effect. It helps uptake much of what you are feeding roots.

My experience is organic soil (which I am changing my soil mix, again) and I try to keep things in the bacterial/fungal stages (i.e. bacterial - veg./ fungal - bloom). This works well for my method. Coco is a different animal, which I have limited experience. My next soil mix will include Sunshine Organic Growers mix, which has coco, peat, etc.
The difference being I will amend with seed meal, humus, Earthworm Castings, fish meal, etc. to feed bacteria and fungal colonies. We may be comparing apples to oranges.
How ever you do it keep growing, and kill it.

Looking awesome Baked.

I have had the chance to see Baked Reality's grow show. It is one of the cleanest, well organized rooms I have ever seen. Very efficient and ever adapting.

This is why he produces buds like that.
