Thanks ClassV, I'm going to really put my skills to the test now. Yesterday afternoon I pulled down the 600 HPS and replaced it with a 300 watt LED. It's a dimmable Full spectrum 9 band: 430~440nm, 450~460nm, 610~615nm, 620~630nm, 650~660nm, white, IR(730nm) , UV 380~400nm, 470nm (including UV(ultraviolet) and IR(infrared) using 45mil 3w Epileds chips. It's seems to be penetrating through the whole plant. My plan is to later down the road go to a higher watt light with 5 watt Cree chips in bloom and use this light for Veg.

This next image doesn't show it real well but my walls skinned with Orca Grow Film you can see every color in the spectrum. It really messes with my transitions darkening in my eyeglasses making everything green at first.

Yesterday was finally harvest day for this Jaffa Cake BX. She put the fade on fast at the end.

Happy Saturday fellow farmers, Some snow and cold here in Denver Co. Forcing me to have to cover the garden beds with so many early blooms going on already. Well after five full days of using LED the plants are responding very well with the sudden change in their sun. Changing from HPS to LED, I was able to go from two fans to one. I also had to add a oil filled radiator with the light on only. This has dropped the canopy temp from 80 to 85 degrees to 75 to 80 degrees. I get a good ten degree drop in temp when in darkness.

Here are the last three to finish for now. My rental agreement ends the first of June forcing me to shut down the bloom area in till mid June. I was hoping to buy a house, but still just don't have our ducks in a row and need to stay put for one more year renting with two dogs and two cats. It's easy to hide my veg plants during reinspection with my landlady. This morning was feeding day plus some defoliation. First our Afgan Kush the youngest of the three and should be finished in about three weeks. Staring to develop her great bubble gum smell.

Next is this Sweet Tooth on her last run. We had two of these girls going. But like the other one better and still have a cutting of it to continue with. Still a pretty frosty girl! I want to make a batch of bubble hash soon and will add her to it.

Here is this Blue OG plumping up. She has a little leaf burn on one cola but looking descent. A great time to check her soil PH number. She is a great daytime buzz for me. I guess you can call me a blue boy!:)

There were four girls in bloom this morning but one was ready for harvest. Here is Higgs Boson on day 63. Her only set back is she is a thin branched girl and always requires total support to keep her upright. So I just cage her up. This girl rocks my mind with her high and flavor.

And to finish I want to note that Jaffa Cake BX. My last harvest girl is amazing. I jarred her up this morning and after trying, Her flavor is the best I can describe a grapefruit haze mix, and a very hazy high.

Happy Spring to everyone! Orca

What an inspirational grow diary. Really makes me want to start a perpetual grow.
Gosh, Once again thank for all your kind words along with some nice chat recently. I really love perpetual growing. It just seems to be the right fit for us and needs. Plus I'm just not as happy in life when I'm not growing.
The recent blizzard here in Denver Co. allowed me to discreetly make a nice batch of bubble hash in my closely placed housing. First hash for me in a six months and very tasty. A nice mix of all of our current strains.

Here's to a Blessed Easter Sunday Too All!

Happy April everyone, A good start for us. Made a quick negotiation with the landlady to stay one more year for now before buying our own house. Now I don't have to shut down the bloom area and can just keep grow going with no interruption.
I know that I am lagging a little perpetually. My two newbie Platinum Cookies x Blue Doddy Doggs are looking like studs. So planting two more plus a Rainbow Jones fem. Here are the pretty sure males.

Here are the only three in bloom right now. We are 18 days now using the 300 watt LED light verses a 600 watt Lumitek ballast, and Hordilux bulb . A very interesting difference so far for me tending the plants. They are staying very healthy, but have slowed there metabolism down as far as feeding and finish. Check out these images showing the same plant finishing under HPS verses LED. First is this Sweet Tooth that I took back on December second at 60 days bloom and a good 10% amber trich wise. Next is a second run of the same plant in bloom right now at 63 days and trich's are just cloudy under the LED today.

Hey Mr Bee, How is the weather in Scotland?:) To answer your question. I never bought any of Barneys Cookies Kush. I ended up getting Platinum Cookies x Blue Doggy Dogg by Chronic Culture. I just planted two more seeds as out of the first three seeds. Two males and one not viable. Nice to hear from you.
Here is a quick little update. Planted five seeds yesterday. Two more Platinum Cookies x Blue Doggy Dogg's as just stated, Two Cherry Bomb Indica's, and one Rainbow Jones fem to get a little more variety going. Here is the veg area nice and full.

I've decided to double up and going to get a second LED to run side by side. I'm very impressed with the performance of this light for the price of $138.00 and free shipping. There customer service is also very good dealing direct with the dealer through Amazon marketplace. They have promptly answered all of my questions. Now I need to fill this area back up again!

lookin good orca,is it just me or do your plants look bigger now in the new spot?

Great to hear from you sixstring, I'll be in this same spot for one more year. The fixed wide angle lens on my camera can make these plants look bigger then they are sometimes. Are you still collecting maple syrup? Hope everything is going well in your life!
Hello Shire, Glad you dropped in. The brand of these LED lights is Lighttimetunnel. Galaxy Hydro offers the same light and about the same price, but not in a dimmable version like this one . After we move next year I want to use these lights in veg and like the ability to turn them down for spouts. I ordered my second light yesterday. Here is a link to the product at Amazon.

Happy Saturday to all, Just a gorgeous day in Denver this morning. Covering all of the outdoor blooms three times now during recent snow storms has really paid off. Here are a few images taken this morning.

Here is a little update and a correction to my last Monday post on the indoor garden and a exciding one for me. I'm so glad that growing has taught me patience. On Tuesday at 52 days old I discovered that the younger Platinum Cookies x Blue Doggy Dogg is a confirmed female and was up potted and put into the bloom area on Wednesday. The male went wayside into the dumpster yesterday. Here she is today on her fourth day in 12's and my first complete LED finish. My second Led light arrives on this coming Monday and looking forward to 600 watts of power.

Of the two new Platinum Cookie seeds planted only one came up. So now out of five seeds of the ten pack. One female, one male, two not viable, and one unknown. Here is the new cookie baby.

Next are the other two strains recently planted. Here are the two Cherry Bomb Indica's regs. I love the looks of the little stout one on the left.:)

This is the Rainbow Jones fem looking very nice so far.

Here is the second run of this Jaffa Cake BX up potted and in her first day of 12's

Next is this AK looking the just great in my eyes. I'm loving how dark her leaves are now under LED, and the happiest she has ever been. She has given me troubles in past grows but not all her fault.

And last is this Sweet Tooth on harvest day. 70 days and very stinky. Cut her this morning while everyone was sleeping around us. Now my great wife has the house smelling of homemade Italian tomato sauce, and is now making homemade pasta to go with it. Yum, Yum!

Yesterday my second LED light arrived and is now is use. It's amazing to add another 300 watts with no temp increase. Here is with one light on then both.
Led 1

My biggest setback using these LED lights in my cellar is the cooling fans are going to need to be cleaned on a regular basis more then in a tent or regular ceiling room. The nice thing is, there is a closet right over the plants so we are not always walking over them upstairs.

A good friend of mine wanted to show himself off yesterday while I had the camera out. This is Peter, We both share the same birthday being this Friday.

Our other cat Samantha does not like cameras so no picture of her. Hope the week is off to a smooth start for everyone!

Wow, what an inspirational and educational thread. You do a wonderful job here @Orcaman consistently putting out real top grade beautiful flowers.
I hope you plan to release beans at some point as I'd love to see what you can create!
That switch to LED has really interested me, what are they? Def piqued my interest

Anyway I look forward to the next journey, hopping on your wave for a bit

so what are the led panels, looks like mars ? i have one i been running, the 5 w diodes and it needs a good 18inches under it or i see bleaching on the tops.lookin good orca

Thank you for the very kind words Welshwizzard, I really love to share my growing experience here as well as keep learning from all of the great members to. You will have to keep me updated on your Platinum Cookies x Blue Doggy Doggs that you have going. To answer your question, The LED lights that I bought are called Lighttimetunnel and cost 139.00 dollars from Amazon. Very similar to the Galaxy Hydro brand.
They are a 300 watt, Fully dimmable, full spectrum 9 band: 430~440nm, 450~460nm, 610~615nm, 620~630nm, 650~660nm, white, IR(730nm) , UV 380~400nm, 470nm (including UV(ultraviolet) and IR(infrared) using 45mil 3w Epileds chips.
Hey sixstring, I never thought that I would say this but it seems that your 1600 watt light with 5 watt chips is almost too much concentrated light output for the plants coming out of one panel. Is it dimmable? So much to learn now for me with Led lighting and how the plants respond to it!
