day 77

hello,

i was out of town for a few days, and came back to overgrown clones:) they're in dwc, now with my fatman formula. i've fed a hose to a 6" stone, and 801 pump. the roots look good.

the girls are showing more hairs. i'm feeding with fatman bloom. when they start slowing down, i'll hit them with AN connoisseur/overdrive diy fert (i copied their formula).

at some point i'll shelter them from rain and stray light.

day 88

yesterday i bought a few 80L garbage pails. suffice to say i used most of a bale of promix! they just look right in the garbage pails. i drilled 6mm holes low on the sides (along the parting line), and filled the inside with hydroton to just above the holes. i moistened the promix with tap water, pH to 5.8ish.

i gave them 10L of nutes - i mix in two 20L pails. no run off. i'm afraid of waterlogging them until their roots fill out the fresh soil. i expect the roots to fill it within a couple of weeks. i'm guessing i'll have to give them around 20L to get any run off. i've stopped giving them molasses.

#1 from day 84 is more sativa like, so i'm guessing it'll taste more grape/berry. had drooping leaves - i think a pH problem.
#2 has the fewest branches, so hopefully biggest buds
#3 was first to flower, and is showing trichs (also with the leaf hopper)
#5 is the most indica looking, and also showing trichs (i think this is my keeper)

awesome... can't wait to see budporn. have you grown this indoor ?? with good conditions and the best pheno, do you think it can compete with the og's, pk's and bubba's floating around in B.C/Ontario ?? bag appeal, and potency wise ??

this is my first bj grow. i don't personally know how it does indoors, or outdoors. it's particularly well suited to indoor growing. it looks like it'll finish on or before oct 1 at 45* lattitude.

i've never had og, or real pk. my impression is that bj's stone lasts a lot longer than og. it smells grapey and piney, and has great bag appeal. pic c/o dr atomic (and the reason i got it). it's northern lights #5 - which contains haze - and blueberry. it certainly has the potential genetics to be a one hit variety. it yields much better than og. just in case, i have sensi star waiting for a future grow.

i've taken lots of cuttings, and will make a mom of the best pheno(s). i'd love an indoor grow with a 1000w over a 4x4 table.

after a few days of rain, the bottom leaves have turned yellow. i fed today with full strength nutes - 1.75 - 1.95mS. pH between 5.5-6.0 using 1.75 ml phosphoric acid. i used 175ml nutes in 20L of solution for each plant.

the next watering will be plain water with clearex (sugar water). i will mix up a batch of connie plus overdrive for the last feeding before flush and harvest. i hope we get some warm, dry weather until october. the wind has been so high, it's torn some roots, and bent over a couple of plants.

i'd say the plants smells sweet and green, but no strong odour as i'd feared. inconspicuous is good...when talking about 6' bushes in the burbs.

week 15

it's been raining fairly frequently. since the sun leaves are turning yellow, i just keep feeding them at 1.85mS. they seem pretty happy there. they're not nearly as full as i would have liked by now. i'd equate it to week 5-6 indoors.

bj1 is way behind the other three. bj3 is tight, fast and frosty. bj5 is heavier, just as fast and frosty, and has 3 branch tendencies. bj2, which i'd pinched early on, just had her top branches tied down.

i've been really busy the last week, and hopefully i can make a small greenhouse to keep them warm at night, hide them from neighbouring security lights, and add some security from spotting and/or theft. we get buzzed by low flying planes constantly. i saw one make a loop above my house :S

these are my nutes. basically a copy of AN connoisseur and overdrive. it's just a coincidence that part A looks like berry, and part B looks like tangerine :)

thanks 1080p. the farmer's almanac is calling for flurries between sept 26-30.

i should have pinched all the tops early on to get a shorter, bushier stature. 2m xmas trees look out of place in september. it looks like all of the branches are developing well, although bj2 has 4 larger-looking top colas, instead of 1.

even without flushing, the sun leaves are yellowing and dropping. i had a early girl x hash plant several years ago that was green til the end, and had colas the size of my forearm. it was in the ground and fed pure blend soil (1-4-5). i don't know whether i should raise my N, or drop it.

i have some good news and some bad news.

bad news: the wind was so high yesterday that it ripped apart bj2. i took it down and it's drying.

good news: i have a clone of bj2 if it turns out to be the best plant.

bad news: a busy body neighbour started acting funny, and we were concerned that he'd snitch.

good news: my plants are now in the care of a med patient. he can take them to full term. i'll try to get pics when i can.

bj5 is harvested, and bj3 was ripped off at 3 am yesterday. bj5 is by far the bigger, heavier, frostier, faster plant. it still sucks to lose several ounces of decent smoke...even if it was still in PK boost, and hard to light and harsh.

well, even the earliest plants could have gone to mid october...so much for a september finish! the more sativa pheno is a few weeks later.

sorry to hear about you getting ripped off . a lot of tht is going on this season. i got ripped off for 3 plants last month. Im just glad i harvested 3/4th of one plant a day before they stole them and i came away with 7 zips.. thank God.. The dummies tht did it cut down a plant that was barely 3 weeks in flowering. Shows how smart they are.. another one was infested with PM.. The one i chopped was PM resistant because they were right next to each other and it didnt spread to the good plant.. My Blue Pit is having Pups within the next week Or so, SO i will have a certified BEAST back there next season.

thanks for dropping by guys!

use my 'cloner' and enjoy it :) i was just trying to keep the root zone moist when i took the cover off. the roots love dwc...they got big and ropey quickly. i'm not sure of the reason, but some cuttings sent roots down quickly into the water. others didn't. this caused uneven aerial growth. so i raised the water level to just below the upper tray to encourage roots to grow.

no one ever accused thieves of being smart, or honest, or ethical, or have character, or have work ethic...

BJ5 came down a little early...we were a little shaken up after the rip. it should have gone with a flush for a week or so and it would have been finished. the buds are wispy - JK suggested more P earlier on in flower.

it does me good after two tokes - from a smaller joint than i'm used to. it kicks in within a few minutes, and lasts at least 1.5 hr. it really hits the eyes and head. it's a little harsh - for obvious reasons. the pine still comes through, but not so much blueberry or grape.

this is from the top bud of bj5. 11.7 g, very dry, minus a little for sampling. i'd guess i only got 4 oz from the entire plant.

i'm thinking the four surviving clones will make it to a dwc closet grow under a 400w mh...hopefully this weekend. i'll likely yield more, and higher quality bud.
