Few advantages I have seen, less time in training, less time for something to go wrong , plants seem more vigorous when smaller, saves money by shortening veg time. I'm sure i can think of some other reasons I prefer sog over trees.

Having smaller plants hasn't been working out very well for me lately but, I don't have the space for running the numbers for it to work out, I've just gotten lower yields. But, I blame some of that on the nutes I was using.
