Perpetual Grow in Alaska V3

Today is day 30 of flower for CM2 (pics 1/2/3) and LCS (pic 6); and day 8 of flower for SupaTerp G (pic 4) and E (pic 5).

I’m really stoked on how the monkey is growing this time. It’s a tad yellow down low, but I’m good at chasing that to the end. At least I can see that she’s using her available resources, and that it’s definitely showing up top!! Oh, and no pollen pods or nanners spotted anywhere.

LCS bush-lady is starting to go lime green on some fans. Good thing I gave her a taste of cal-mag last week! More this week, too. Some nanners coming in just on the tops right under the light which may be light stress from before I moved my light up. I keep the light pretty close (elbow to fingertips away) until the buds start to chunk and then I take it further away.

You might be able to see a couple small LCS clone plants turning yellow in the background. I threw those in there just to fill space and I’m really thinking about eliminating them to open up two more spaces. I’m only expecting to yield around 20 grams since they’re in 1 gallon of scrap dirt and 24” tall.

On 2/11, I tossed a couple partners in with my CM and LCS. They are SupaTerp G & E, the more leggy phenotypes out of that seed pop. I used Kyle Kushman’s “Plant Chiropractic” training and clipped the fans to create symmetry as well as control the height during veg (see my high ass post about 2 or 3 posts back for method). No nutes so far, no tomato cage either. I might throw some poles up if I need to. They will get some cal mag and hi-brix for the next feeding, I’d like to avoid an early fade as I’m testing these to find a keeper.

Yeah, for sure, you really don’t need a bunch of runners up. It’s like you said, just need to have those different stages in veg.

I actually had to shut down for a while because I brought in some spiders and thrips off clones from a mom outside. It’s extremely detrimental to a perpetual grow because there’s always fresh material for pests to thrive on. And they will find their way there no matter how much neem oil and dish soap you use.

I run bottled nutes but damn, it’s a hassle. So I’m thinking that’s a good idea… I did use a product from Jobe’s, it was a mycorrhizal granular feed and I loved it almost as much as my plants did. But I can’t find that exact one anymore. I think I might look into that Jack’s. Never used it but I’ve seen a lot of people mention it online.

I use an organic spray called Trifecta. It’s some amazing stuff be the problem mites or even PM. The ladies love it, safe to use up until the last two weeks of flower.
If and that’s a strong if I take a clone from someone they go through at least four preventative sprays prior to being allowed into any of my grows. I have had two problems in 12 years of an indoor grow, both caused by “gifted” clone’s.

Vegetation Station:
Let’s start off with this, my revegetated bud. The pot is full of (an experiment) living soil, I have sea shells from all over Alaska in there, there are several worms, mycorrhiza enriched fertilizers (layered), used organic soil from old grows, aquarium gravel, and a PNW wildflower mix used as cover crop. This is a bagseed from what my ex-gf purchased as “Candyland”. Assuming it’s from Ken Estes, there are definitely some physical characteristics that point to that. I took this cut from a nice plant that I cropped last round but I blew it on the cure. Pure hay. Rookie fucking move. I’m still disappointed.

This next picture is of a seedling that has gotten some of my fan leaf cut training. I really don’t even know what this is. It popped up around day 42 of flower of my last crop. It’s been slow going, I can’t even tell you all what day I first saw it. I haven’t looked for signs of sex. The soil is the same soil as the reveg lady, but no sea shells.

Picture 3 is a clone from LCS bush lady, set aside to be a mother for a while and then flowered once I feel she has the right shape. I’m going to keep her 20-30” away from the light and go for another bush. Topping may be necessary but I’ll try to do it without.

Here is the next round for flower. In one corner, we have SupaTerp A (pic 4) and in the other corner we have SupaTerp D (pic 5). To be honest, I like the structure on ST(d) the most and ST(g) would come in second for me. This summer I’ll light dep my favorite ST boy to those girls and see what we get. They stand around 38-40” tall right now. Plenty of room to go to the light and everything not producing has been removed from down low. I also used the fan leaf cutting and plant chiropractic on them. It will be roughly 3 weeks until they enter the flowering chamber.

Last but not least, the three clones of LCS in the same shit dirt as the flowering clones. I’m waiting for them to get bone dry so I can break up those roots and get that shit out of there. I have a contractors trash can of nice dirt ready to go. I don’t even care what it does to the plants. I shouldn’t have put them in that junk to begin with… clone dome in the background, I am having issues dialing it in this space. But still producing clones.

My RH is ~ 30% and I have no clue how to bring that up. My plants grow slow because of it. I spray them once a week or maybe longer if I forget. My temps are consistent and go from 65 to 75 during winter time.

Thanks for the tip!! I’ve always wondered how to take care of clones from other people. I don’t get cuts from anybody and the few times I’ve taken in other peoples’ plants, it was bad, bad, bad!

Thanks, I enjoy posting here on the farm. A lot more than bugging my friends and family on social media with all my gardening stuff. Haha.

Today is the 34th day of flower (CM & LCS) and the 12th day of flower (SupaTerps).

The SupaTerps are shown in the first two pics. I fed the nutes in the 3rd pic to them. 1 tbsp of hi-Brix and 1 tsp of microblast (per gallon).

The last pic is what I used on CM & LCS. 1 tbsp hi-brix, 1/2 tsp microblast, 2 tbsp Buddha bloom, 2 tsp Trinity, 1 tsp Cal-mag, and 1 tbsp of hpk (per gallon).

Good morning from the last frontier. A snow storm rolled through yesterday and gave us about a foot of snow. I took some bud shots.

In the first three slides, it shows LCS. I’m getting some earth tones and ripe fruit aromas but she’s really not throwing too heavy of a scent right now. I stressed her out with the light and got some bananas up top, I’ll keep my distance next time. Feeding a little hi-brix (3/4 tbsp/gal) with every watering.

In the next four slides, you see the CM. All punchy sour gummy smells here. I think I like this better than my last CM mother. Feeding a little more of the hi-brix (1 tbsp/gal).

Last, but definitely not least, SupaTerp G, the better of the two SupaTerp stretchy phenos. I canted my light to allow for this extra height that I wasn’t expecting.

Transplants today.

The first five pictures are of the transplant process for SupaTerp A & D. 2 gal to 5 gal. These are the last two girls out of my SupaTerp hunt. The taller one had a better root base and more uniform node/branch growth. But the smaller one has caught my eye with tighter internodal spacing, as well as a more dense and level canopy. They both have a textbook Christmas tree shape when grown this way. I used 1/4 cup of this premium gold fertilizer fortified with some myco, stirred I nto the dirt at the bottom. They’re going into flower once I get some more room in there. 2 weeks or so until crop time.

I also transplanted (3x) LCS clones with the same stuff. Just 1 gal to 2 gal.

The 6th, 7th, & 8th pictures are of my mystery bean that popped up during another plant’s flowering cycle. I grew this plant super squat so far, clipping the new growth tops every time I see them. It popped up on the edge of the pot, which I don’t like. So instead of trying to move it I bent it 90° and twisted the stalk so all of the nodes are in line. It’s going to take some repetitive twisting to maintain that. Probably every day or every two days. I still don’t have any solid plans for this plant. Probably throw it into flower after snagging a few cuts.

The last photo is my LCS mother. I didn’t do anything with her today but she’ll get a small transplant once she gets root bound. I like to let the moms go ~ within reason.

The seventh picture in my last post is obviously not what I said it was. This is my batch of SupaTerp clones (plus one Cake Monkey clone). Growing slow and ready for my final selections at the end of flower. I have all three males and all four females but I think I’ll take the one with the same structure as SupaTerp D and work that cross. The other males were super lanky and (probably) not what I want. I think I’ll roll the dice and feed them to the rabbits.

I figured I’d put the best plant first, Cake monkey. Today is the 51st day of flower, and I’m feeling impatient for this one to finish already. 50/50 white and yellowing hairs. I didn’t bother with a trich inspection and I probably won’t bother until I see some brown hairs.

This second picture is the mystery seed. I still haven’t got a clue what this plant may be. I’ve been having fun twisting the trunk to align all of the nodes, and I bent it down at a 90° before sticking a tomato cage on top. Just playing around with this one.

Here is my clone tray, SupaTerp 1-7 waiting for final selections and Cake Monkey.

Yesterday I threw my last couple SupaTerp’s into flower. They’re up to my elbow and I’m sure I’ll have to move the light up. I trimmed the tops again. Keeping on with that technique to direct some growth outward but retain a single cola.

I’m excited for these lime chem skunk buds, too. They’re pushing out some foxtails on the top, I got way too close with the light during mid flower. (Pic 4)

Just getting to the end of the cycle on some of these. The Lime Chem Skunk and the SupaTerp are both from Mount Zion Seed Cooperative. They broke me off super fat when I bought seeds. I couldn’t believe how many they sent me.

Day 62 chop for Cake monkey. No amber. Keeping this cut on deck for a while. Who knows, might last a few years.

This is a close up of lime chem skunk. I’m so excited for this one! I’d like to try a long term sativa one day. But for now I’ll get my practice on 70/80 day hybrid sativas.

I’m plugging along. The first pic is a clone from Ken Estes’ candy land, I’m pretty sure at least. I’ve done more extensive training on this; Monster-cropping to begin its life as a new plant, then plenty of plant chiropractic, and super cropping. I just went through and topped 80% of the canopy.

The next two pics are one of the two cake monkey top buds. 7 days drying time. I need to get more hormex and start pumping out the clones. This shit is the bomb.

(pic 1) Three of my surviving seedlings. I killed four of them by planting too deep. Oops. And three SupaTerp males, I made a selection but I’m considering open pollination with all of the boys and girls.

(Pic 2, 3, 4, 5, 6) Lime Chem Skunk harvested at 69 days. Around 80% milky and the rest are clear-ish.

(Pic 7) On the left is my Cake monkey mother. Topped a month ago and re-topped today. On the right is my random seed plant. She’s really pushing for the light right now. I topped every branch, I have the main stem tied down still and I’ll probably release it once a new canopy gets established. This is a really dense bush, with tons of bud sites. I got so lucky with this random... The structure is badass.

I’ve got some fungus forming on these. I like to sprinkle dead leaves over them.

I got to work on the deep purple seeds. I found out I got 25 in a 15 pack. They’re way tiny, I put 20 into a paper towel to germ and now they’re sitting in the fridge for a few days. My intent is open pollination. I want fresh stock, and eventually I’ll make selections for inbreeding.
