Had a little Sun Conure from a Lil ugly beak with coffee stirers all the way up to its untimely passing due to a live in exgirlfriend baby sitting a "cute little, likes ta hide stuff n tha like, fuzzy, soft, mischievous, stinking, evil, predatious, foul, good fer nuthin, heart breaking, best friend stealing, murdering varmint called a ferret. Which brought me enjoyment fer a time that spanned a measly 19 yrs of my life. Not that I hold any resentments or anything. Like she said when I got home that night," That bird was loud anyway and it only like you. And it always tried to bite me, once." And "it's not my fault, they never told me it ate meat in nature. I didn't think I needed to check with you. Quit being such a dick. It's like you care about that bird more than me. " Wat the hell was my problem? Really? How stupid of me ta pay a whole summer of lawn mowing back when I was 14 to buy a couple of days old bird that I hand fed, trained to mimic words, let me be its own personal tree, go to every hempfest I'd ever been to, was a best buddy, took my drives test with, sat on my shoulder as I got my highschool diploma. Yeah. WHY SHOULD I HAVE BEEN UPSET? That critter saved me from many more years of friendship and enjoyment. Plus it hid the carcass up in the attic deep in the rafters so I wouldn't have to deal with the burden of burying her for tha relief of closure. Yeah no resentments at all! Named tha chicken Dennis the Menace until she laid an egg in my hoodie pocket. Then it became Denise. Man I miss that Lil chicken! It was a shame that next night when that ferret got in my Congo African Grey's cage. And that bird decided to be a meanie and pierce that no good rats eyeball. I was just heartbroken. I wasn't surprised either when it's owner expected me to buy them another one. After my mean old parrot murdered that sweet Lil harmless ferret.

You've gotta hook up with women with more brains than that. She couldn't see the damn thing's teeth and see it's a fucking carnivore? Good for that African Grey! If it was like my father-i

That's just in dollar bills. @GrowGod Thar ain't a price tag on tha piece of your soul they take the minute your eyes meet for tha 1st time. How much does unconditional love cost? Better yet how much would you pay for someone to unconditionally love you? How much did it cost, fer tha hours of sleep you lose thru out yer life worrying bout em, an takin care of em, an nursing them back to health when they sick? I don't think ya can cost that stuff ota inta dollars. If ya could, Well Hell! I done gone an spent MILLIONS! I want my money back damn it! At least a return on my vestment.

LoL no pun intended but I enjoy being able to take my wife places and slap her ass around the beach without the financial struggles of kids and changing their stinky ass diapers. the only way you will get your money back on this one is if you live long enough to where they have to wipe your stinking ass lol

embarassing tha piss outta em on special occasions like first dates and first parties. First hangovers really kick ass too. Tha old wake'em with vintage headbangers ball at six am an tell'em "drink a whole bunch of water. Cures it right up" puts a smile on yer face. An their green ass face is priceless. Thought I'd git my oldest with tha whole spoiling grandkids then send'em home without a nap and a Dirty diaper bit but she chickened out like a wussie an done gone gay on me. Said she never having kids after watching wat I gone through. That's alright though I got six more behind her ta pay back. And I think acting like a male shovanist homophobic when her and her guygirl friend come over is pretty fun too. I honestly don't mind one bit. Love her unconditionallI I cant say I didn't see it coming. never liked dolls or fu fu stuff. Rather hang out hunting n fishin an tinkerin in tha shop. my twelve yr olds nuts ar bout to drop so I got my sights set on new pray. Can't wait till he tries ta take tha old man on. Keep tellin him ta exercise more. He's gonna need it. Lol

@showmegreen -- look into the dwarf Africans. Just as hardy (I have found that, on the whole, African cichlids out of the three major rift lakes, those being Malawi, Tanganyika and Victoria, are the hardiest of fishes to keep) as their full-size mbuna brethren.

Ok, that's a new genus since I've worked the biz. My African cichlid ID bible I bet is no longer relevant.

Nice snake! Do you whack the feeders before you give them to it, or does it need them to be moving to want to eat?

No I buy them pre frozen . I just defrost it first . I have to heat the rats up for some of the pythons as they have heat sensing "pits" around theyr mouth and will only go for it if it looks alive to it . but I don't have the heart to give them live prey plus rats bite and i don't want my pets injured . That one in the pic has only just started feeding again . That's the first thing it's ate since November . Every year they stop eating at winter . It's supposed to be theyr mating season or so i was told.

Yes rats can definatly do damage to your snake if he doesn't get ate first. And then if the snakes it hungry you have to keep the rat alive.
Nice looking snake by the way

Hey SM, look in the tanganyika book they should be there. I like the diversity of the tangs! Mbuna are some violent little shits if the tank isn't balanced right. If you want color mbuna and peacocks/haps are the way to go:)

So tangs are a type of African cichlid, not just a salt water dwelling purty fish with poison barbs on its sides? Interesting. Kind of like bluegill and sun perch and crappie and bass are all cichlids?

Ah, I whack 'em. Gotta whack 'em hard and knock 'em out the first time. I remember trying to train the Tran bros on how to whack a mouse or a rat, it was simultaneously hilarious and sad to watch them. We were bringing in all wild-caught snakes that would *not* take something dead, let alone something that had been frozen.

I can't recall how often I've mentioned, but I had to get work in the aquatic ornamental/exotic import/export trade to pay for my own saltwater habit. I got to meet a LOT of people, some of them now showing up on programs like Tanked (ugh). I've had to ship some giganto Naso tangs, and, well...

Let's just say that despite being herbivores, if you put too many in a system, do not be surprised if you come back to a buncha shredded fish. Shipping Nasos means double-bagging with newsprint *and* black plastic liners.

Pufferfish are easier!
