Hello. Edi here. Welcome in Piña Colada episodes growing soap opera

I do like to take photos of every stage of cannabis plant growing. Not a newcomer in grow but first time I will be growing with LED, also first time I will FIMing and then super cropping instead of topping and mainlining as usual. I will gladly take advice doing so.

I said Au revoir to HPS set up with my last grow (minute of silence) and decided to go for LED adventure. Thought I might document it :P
After all we do learn more from mistakes, not necessarily our own ones :P and we can laugh together.
I enjoy watching cannabis growing! Growing weed is very addictive for passionate gardeners!

Strain: Pineapple Express. Seeds are from Barney's Farm- photo, feminized.

Have time and I am not in the hurry so I will enjoy this grow learning as much as I can :D
6-8 weeks in veg minimum- 3X3 and then flower in 5X5. I plan to drop some autos in a smaller tent later. Fingers crossed :D

Set up for veg tent: HOMEbox Ambient Q100 3X3 with HLG 100 4000K on timer, heat mat- Mars Hydro with thermostat, extract 4” – AC Infinity Cloudline pro S4, passive intake, one circulating fan at the bottom- AC Infinity Cloudray S6 - both on controller 69, humidifier - AC Infinity Cloudforge T3

Two first weeks in a pill

Seeds were soaked 24h in solution of cold extracted seaweed. Transferred to wet paper towel and zip lock bag next day. Open zip lock went between ceramic plates. Plates landed on top of cardboard on top of heat mat with thermostat set to 25-26 inside the press. They produced 1,5 cm roots in 12 h.

I packed sprouted seeds into propagator plugs (half Plagron seeding and cutting mix/half perlite/plugs soaked 1h before in seaweed, fungus & bacteria delicious brew) and drop them under the dome, put the girls back on the heat mat in the press and started to assemble vegetation tent.

In less than 24h they sprouted up like crazy :D not that I complain, they just legged so fast I wasn't able to put them under lights fast enough.

Covered dome landed under 100W LED (so far around 80cm above seedlings) with loads of humidity inside until ladies dropped their seeds and were ready to tango.

4th day dome is off, legs are getting darker and stronger on them.

6th day- girls are transferred from plugs into pre-soaked in brew and seaweed baby pots. Lights are lowered to 65 cm.

They enjoying company of raising like crazy sunflowers I enjoyed sunflowers in the tent. They were keeping humidity up nicely and very tough seedlings- very springy.

day 8

day 9

12th day- I prepared 1 galon early veg pots (Biobizz light mix 75%/perlite 25%) and warmed them up in the tent for the night, I gave plants sip of baby rocket fuel as they looked hungry poor darlings and I could see the roots so they should handle mild nutes now.

day 12

Had some f&*k%p with PH as I didn't run the solution before I gave it to the babies and next day I did run it just for fun and it was 8 (wtf? ).
Used PH Perfect range and bottled water.
In rerun I am switching to my tap one (dechloramined and dechlorified by Neutralise) and with PH- in and I will be running before/after and run off at the end :P fool me once....
One of the seedlings reacted to the PH mess already by discoloration but it will recover.
I'm prepared to discard two of them in the process anyway to be honest ;) I know life lol

The sluggish and anemic one after PH bubu

Moment later the humidifier crapped itself bringing my tent to 90% and shutting down all ventilation on the controller. Loads of cleaning, reorganizing, and venting full on. I have a bit of OCD which is very handy in grow :P
Seedlings and prepared pots were on a tray so they did not drink from the puddle of water but I have noticed the fussy one that reacted badly on PH mess up is even worse after humidity mess up. Oh well.

day 14

Pots with 6 (for now) graces were soaked in mushroom, bacteria and seaweed brew for 12 hours at night (250ml per one lady) and fed 12 hours later from the top with baby rocket fuel (also 250ml on the edges). Lights lowered to 60cm

so ;)
week one: 18/6 light schedule/temp by day 23C tent/25.5C root area/ temp by night 19C tent/21C root area, humidity kept at around 75-80%, VPD in range 0,5-0,7/no nutrients except brew and seaweed
week two: 18/6 light schedule/temp by day 24C tent/24C root area/ temp by night 20C tent/21C root area, humidity kept at around 65-70%, VPD in range 0,7-0,9/nutes last 3 days in baby proportions

plus one day of Humid Armageddon but they stand strong

Will give them a moment to recover (reach to my pocket to solve environmental issues- I need a humidifier as there will be infrared/convection heater in play in the grow area instead of heating mat) and I think it's time to start vegetation properly!

Greetings fellow growers

Bonjour. all inmates survived the transport Underdog is catching up. Weakest one have some small necrotic spots and looks hungry all the time so I introduced yesterday calcium and magnesium foliar. I think this grow I will stay with those two fed by leaves every two weeks and I do regret that I didn't do it night of the transplant. doh...

now serious question to more experienced growers if any stumble here I am reading last few days and finding different levels recommended.

Will I FIM after 3rd, 4th or 5th?

greets

And here we are. Tomorrow 3 weeks from seed.
I have passed on the idea of buying a new humidifier (the feral one still waits for the supplier to answer) and helped myself to 65%RH with the old trick - wet bath towel.
Cold temperatures here now, windy and shitty
Without a humidifier I can't use the heater so they sit in 22C during the day and 18C at night but it seems to suit them.
Overall atmosphere in the tent is lovely- all that busy multiplication.

From 6 seeds I have 3 types of girls

Why you shouldn't throw away seedlings too early- this Streaky Betty after traumatic childhood went up in very short, chunky indica form. It grows similar to the auto version from Barneys that I had before. Still covered in scars but getting there

Just like Cheech and Chong here- short, compact. Me gusta Cheech is fatter. Chong ripped his pants.

Then there's those two. Medium size, purplish stalks, reaching differently. both little fussy but one that produced some spots as a baby seems to be over it

And this hungry giraffe Will have to FIM her first as she's two steps ahead of everybody.

So far so good

week three- 18/6 light schedule, temperature 22C/day 18C/night, humidity 60-65%, VPD 8-9 ish, they are on tap water treated with Ecothrive Neutralise, PH 6,2 ish, watered twice- once with just water, once with baby fuel, foliar from seaweed on night before feeding (Ecothrive Flourish), light 60cm from girls

baby rocket fuel recipe on 1L

Advanced Nutrients Connoisseur Grow A 2 mL
Advanced Nutrients Connoisseur Grow B 2 mL
Advanced Nutrients B-52 2 mL
Advanced Nutrients Bud Candy 2 mL
Advanced Nutrients Sensizym 2 mL
Vitalink Silicon Max 0,5 ml

Greetings

Bitchin grow there, very enjoyable read. Best of luck, i'm in the USA Oregon growing outdoors currently it's just starting to feel like summer. Your plants look great to me i'm an older lady grower 40+yrs been at it. Only 5yrs of indoor tent use, still learning. Looking forward to watching your grow.

Thank you :) Yes- it's a small personal lady grow
I would even say it's going too fast. Today on check up I have noticed peekabooing roots

Was hoping for more time in those 1 galon pots
Still committed to FIMing them in those and transplant later. Hope they will not get too tight there...

Good evening. Two nice hours spent in the garden. Weather sucks so we can at least do some chores.
Had to make some executive decisions here in Weird Bunch Associated
I have one more tent 5X5 but starting with LED I have to overall buy three LED-s (including one that hangs.) Au . And from my own observations so far- there's pluses and minuses of LED, I am sure more to think about and add to the list will follow with flower, harvest and smoke of this first LED grow
Besides what I am noticing more and more there's problems with PPFD overload in grows so my decision what to buy and what watts change every day.

I accidentally got this stupid blonde idea so to keep them all in this 3X3 as I am already emotionally attached and this will allow me to experiment more with less cost attached. I will invest in 5X5 for autos later. Autos that I have to order and decide on, as the only seeds from auto that left in my stash are those, and I'm not in the mood for big bush now

I put my "big boy" pants on and took a closer look
Weird Bunch Associated can't be treated identically, was my conclusion.
Not only that they grow differently but to fit them in 3X3 juicing the space to the end I can't shape them all in the same way, oh no.

I dried them out last few days on purpose- crunchy crunchy and today 3 hours before nighty time I fed them with half adult strength baby rocket fuel (666ml each more or less ).
Left them enjoy it for half an hour. Yam yam.
Cleaned my trim scissors and FIMed three of them - biggest one and two in similar chunky type

I have decided to keep this one to top it in few days. The most symmetry asks for something divided by two

I will observe Lettuce Cheech- maybe I will leave her untouched as Christmas tree and last one was bit trim pinched and I will shape her in one line like Jewish candle holder so she will fit between the fatties.

Sorted. Let's just hope all the crew will be alright and that I FIM them right

hope your afternoon is going well
took a peek into garden after 1,5 day.
I am already convinced I fucked up one on three FIMings.
Think I did those two right

and this one over 20% cut. ups

Oh well. What will happen I have no idea but also I am very interested

Made some changes in set up- positioned light in the middle and raised it to almost 70 cm (I think I have week, week and a half on this light left and it's time to slowly make a decision towards full spectrum covering all area), removed restrains and gave girls more space for second part of veg
This is how set up looks right now

Talking about all that FIMing challenges and possible plants behaviour with my friend (crazy geek botanist - the kind that measures how cauliflower grows on classical music) I was advised to give something extra to my grow - so James- if you ever stumble here - that's for you

See you in two days girls when I will be back to top one- she's almost ready. just waiting for 4th node to properly develop

If you want to make God laugh, tell him about your plans....

So my plants basically told me that I can take my FIM and put it where sun does not shine
They did not stun, just accelerated, shock was not observed - especially Giraffe.
Think I was afraid to cut too low

I did left two of them FIMed as there's something weird going on in the middle (I would suspect more or less proper FIM but I won't hold my breath)

And what I have done here

I FIMed the FIM obviously so I will leave it for now.
Later I will remove those side upper fan leaves that I butchered to slow down the top and I will top her in next two nodes. She have strong lower floor this one and is bigger than others almost by half. I might top her twice

Now as this is all experiment and learning curve I have decided to experiment further.
I ditched the scissors (I don't know why I grabbed them, too many instruction videos watched online prior perhaps as for years to defoliate, top and maintain I am using my fingers and nails) and pinched by hand remaining three tops in three different ways

one like I would FIM

one like I would miss the FIM but lower this time

and last one - normal 5th node topping

What will happen- time will tell. We live and learn

Few cents about LED at the end as I have few problems and starting to have mixed feelings about them.

Last few days I am changing and altering the set up.
I positioned board exactly in the middle to give it best footprint and started to raise it as I noticed plants behaving like they have overload.

Now- I am an HPS girl, burns are not strange to me. Was growing under 1000W, burned this and that not once, not twice - but under LED-s leaves are behaving differently and I can't put my finger on it
If I would have to compare it with something- it would be electrical burn. There's noticeable trouble in even chlorophyll distribution comparing to the HPS
It's also harder to get plants in right prayer position - like this light from LED is too flat for plant to behave naturally.
Or maybe LED light spreads in closed tent differently- I have a feeling LED would work better in open space.

What I have also noticed - how each of the hybrids take this light vary. Some of them get over it and react only in new grow. Some like Lettuce Indica style doesn't like it at all. She actually really truly hates it

Right now I am on 80cm which is over 30" and I am getting some healthier responses from plants
Makes me dread to put something stronger in that tent to be honest as I am now only on 100W of blue spectrum and I was thinking about setting up full spectrum in 3X3 with Phlizon PH-B6 320W and now I am thinking that maybe panel with sunrise and sunset option would make that artificial light more natural for them and ease it up?

Apart from that weird bunch grows nicely, fans are bigger than my pinching hand, girls are very hungry drying on me nicely in 3-4 days and they push forward
They are now in lower humidity around 60% and regulating themselves. I won't be helping with RH anymore. Time to grow up!

Will be back with results of butchering
Enjoy your day

Guten Morgen
As naturally curious person and passionate gardener I am starting to like this Pineapple FIMing butchering experimenta
You can read thousand forums, movies and ask everybody but until you will see with your own eyes on your own plants you know nothing John Snow

While first batch of butchered girls still doing something weird in the middle that I am not able asses fully but fortunately I can be patient, second batch got over hand FIMing fast

One that was FIMed short but (probably ) properly

one that was FIMed like I would miss it lower producing now on two I think

and topping and backing off light made wonders for this runt of the litter. Lettuce is also the only one with green stalks
