The rest of my house is my lung room in essence. I have a bedroom claimed as my groom and the door is always open, my flower tent is near the door and the exhaust is pointed straight out and I have a 4" duct fan drawing air into the tent at floor level so, basically, it's pushing heat out to the rest of the house up top while drawing cooler air in at the bottom.
It's always worked out pretty well for me. Having the rest of the house to spread the heat out to helps out with heating in winter. :ninja:

No because the temp will be the same as the incoming air. So it’s coming. In and going out so fast but stays at the incoming temp.

In my case if let’s say in the summer I’m pulling hot air in the groom stays hot
If your CONSTANTLY pulling cold air it will constantly be cold.

If your pulling warm air and have an ac it all gets exhausted and the temp stays the same as incoming air. Which is the warm outside air.
Make sense?
I gotcha, my ac is my intake so im thinking differently. I have it set up like that basically already. It takes in air from outside the groom , pumps cold to the room and exhausts upstairs.

But could you accomplish that with maybe a bigger exhaust fan? Pulling air from a cooler room with no ac at all?
Cuz pulling the air out with the ac on is counterproductive. It works but def not efficient. The ac has to work so hard.

See what I’m saying? In the end it’s kinda like go with co2 and an ac that can handle it or get enough air exchange that it’s going out as fast as it comes in from a cooler room then you eliminate the ac.

Also if your ac is your only intake be careful to look for mildew and stuff when your runnin thag monocrop in a full room. If the ac is constantly running you’re probably good but when it’s not you’re not getting fresh air. Unless it’s different from mine.

Hell ya that’s the way to do it. If mine was inside I would use the exhaust to warm my house.
I think passive intake like that is the simplest most effective and efficient way to do it if you can cool it enough.

I misunderstood what you were saying lol, my bad. Im 8 hours into a 10 hour shift lol. So dont air cool the lung room, just pull cool air from it . Its possible but i think with the 2k in an 8x4x8 it would be a good size fan. Im running an 8" 745 cfm fan and at full blast it still gets in the 80's without ac. I do have a passive intake too but it doesnt really pull feom there after i added the ac. It still can no problem tho.

Yea. Basically that’s the dilemma lol. If the lung room is cool enough you can do it without ac it’s just more economical and you have constant fresh air.
If it can’t tho it’s smarter to just seal it up and run co2 so you can have slightly higher temps and also the ac won’t work as hard as it is more trapped in the room not getting exhausted out the sec it comes in. Lol

Yeah, the flower never gets above 82f +/- a degree or two at canopy level and my veg runs a few degrees cooler than that.

Im just throwing a hail mary to finish this grow strong but theres no way i can leave it like this for next run. Anotger problem im having is the ac is outside the room so the temp the unit is reading is from outside the room. I have to guestimate the setting. It doesnt allow complete conteol like i want but its getting me by for now. And it was free on loan from a growmie.

Hell ya for sure bro. Hahah

You know I bet you could cool that room using the ac and it would barely have to run. Then use that as your lung room.
So instead of actually running your ac to your room just cool the lung room
You may need a bigger intake fan but I bet if you had a good 8” or a 10” and the lung room is cool you can cool it with a passive

That’s only if the ac can cool it with a lot less work. Then you’re saving. If it’s still running all the time you might as well just keep using it how you are. Lol

Thats actually my backup plan. Im gonna try it after thus fun is down to see. Its a basenent and its a good size room. I think i stat around 68° ambient in there.

I think having the unit in the lung room will be more efficient becasue the thermostat will be in the same room its cooling. Right now its running about 60% of lights on. Im getting some really nice color anyway.

Maybe tomorrow morning I’ll give ya a call n you can beak down the co2 for my remedial ass. Haha

How was the lake? Fish count?
I caught a few walleyes and a cpl perch

What's wrong with the can fans? Been running a 6" can fan in my flower tent for a long while now and I love it, plenty of power, smooth and quiet. Just a matter of that particular kind of set up? Seems great for a tent. ???
Nothin wrong w that pops. But, ac is game changing
Also would love to switch to DE if I went that way but, I can't afford any upgrading right now, not to mention the boost to my power bill from going to DE. That's one great thing about my ballast anyway, it'll run SE or DE.

De pulls same power and runs a lil hotter. Nothin crazy tho

Good morning men.

Yes efficient but you don't get the benefit of higher co2.

Well you better hurry up and move back. Its trendy to live in Detroit now. Get some hipster threads, raise some chickens in a burned out house and fear for your life every day.
So you are in MI also. I can't keep up with all of us in the mitten lol.

plus the added benefit of co2 more precise control of your environment is huge game changer...
