Have you got a link to a reliable chart with all the best EC levels for each stage of growth?
there're some charts around the internet, but EC is not written in stone, it will vary a lot depending on media used, style of grow, how many irrigations events per day/week, environment conditions, co2 or not, how much light, genetics, phenotypes..........
But with your media and setup what i posted will attend you well.
With a little time and experience you will learn to read your plants to what they need and when :-)

Yeah thinking about it there's lots of variables when it comes to EC and it's a complex business. I'm sure that in time I'll know what to do. When I decide what EC level to use do I need to take into consideration the nutrients already in my medium?

yes you need to take it in consideration for sure, a hot amended organic soil may not need anything for 2-4months for example.

If youre gonna be measuring ec and ph you should do your next grow in coco, you’ll get much bigger plants. Even when i used liquid ferts in soil, i never measured ec. I would start on lower end and read the plants to see if i needed to feed more or throttle back. Your plants are looking just fine. You should be transferring over to a bloom nutrient in a week or 2

I think i should just shut up because it looks like you have a good mentor with trash. Keep listening to him, agree with everything he has said thus far.

nah, i think you should give your inputs too tho
its a forum, otherwise i would be talking in PM's with him
there's a lot of ways of achieving great plants and learn, im always learning too.
Other points of view are truly important to evolve.

Thanks for the advice but growing in coco doesn't appeal to me at all and I have no intention of doing that for the time being. It doesn't seem like a natural way of doing things to me.

No please give your advice too if you want to because some of it has been sound and it's good to get input from as many people as possible. Everybody's advice is welcome.

it's always good to get advice, but on the contrary, there can be some downsides, nutrients, etc react differently, etc, 1 of the reasons I don't want to get involved in these discussions, I have been doing things my way, pretty soon you will be too, it's not hard to grow1 of the easiest things to grow, why it's called weed

These were taken this morning, which is their 16th twelve hour light cycle. They've only grown a couple of inches in this time. Is that normal for the "stretch" period? The light is at 22" from the canopies and they're getting 480 PPFD around the edges and 550 in the centre. Should I lower the light and/or increase the intensity? They were watered yesterday, which they're needing every 3 days now, and the environment is at optimum levels continuously. The second trellis net serves very little purpose because all of the main bud sites are at the same height so I see no need to train the stems any further, but maybe I should bend all of the tallest ones so they're a bit lower and maybe then the shorter bud sites will grow to the same height? The shorter ones have grown very little during stretch.

They look great! 2 inches in 2 weeks? I would lower the light to 24” and check daily to maintain that distance until it is done stretching at which they will halt anyways and you can stop adjusting. That’s how I do it. Less light less unpacking, less growth.

Unless you have some powerful dimmable LEDs more light will come from reducing the distance. If you had high powered dimmable lights and were not 100% intensity, you could turn intensity up to do that. But all in all, more light more growth. But temperature comes with reduced light distance or increasing intensity. So be ready to monitor temps at the tops.

I just read you are 22”. You can get closer, but these things are reasons people like to buy the best lights possible. You will risk light burn or heat stress if you are too close in the attempt to gain better ppfd with lights that may max out anyways at a certain distance.

Most like 900ppfd but want the light distance further when in flower. Too much light can stress but once stretch is over. That’s all you get. Also, if it’s an indica, they will naturally want to stay low.

So likewise, if you are getting that same amount of light, so too will your yield and production post stretch take a hit.

I wouldn't increase light intensity yet, let em finish the stretch 3-4weeks 12/12.
The net will serve it's proposes when the buds start getting weight and leaning sideways hehehe.

You can tuck the stems under the net for the whole stretch phase as you see fit, the idea is to spread opening light to more bud sites and fill the trellis the fullest and best you can.

Too little stretch can be genetics and/or light intensity is high enough for this phase.

Could be a nutrient lockout but it's not the case here they look good my friend!

Keep doing what you doing that you gonna get a great ammount of buds to smoke pretty soon ;-)

Ok cool, I'll have a look to see if there's anything I can do with them today.

You think the distance they've stretched is quite normal?

Cheers. A big part of that is down to you. It's a shame we won't be able to meet up and roll some fat ones so you can try it out. I think you live in America? Give me a shout if you ever come to Thailand.

more of a blue spectrum during stretch will help keep plants compact as compared to more of a red spectrum

I'm currently on day 18 of my first grow. I'm growing 2 Hindu Kush and 1 Northern Lights. I started in plastic cups but the Hindu Kush plants became root bound so I transferred all of the plants 3 days ago to 5 gallon pots. My plants look quite healthy but the problem I have is that they don't seem to have got any taller in the last week. If you look at the close up photos you'll see that the Hindu Kush plants have a whole bunch of nodes in the same place which I can't understand. Also, the Northern Lights plant seems so small compared to the others even though this is also an Indica strain. What am I doing wrong? I was thinking that I might need to top the two Hindu Kush plants because this is causing the problem with the node bunching but aren't they a little small to be topped now?

I'm using a Mars Hydro FC-E4800 at 24" and 50% power. 18 and 6 hours. The temperature and RH is constantly 76 to 80 Fahrenheit and 50% to 70% respectively. I've got three fans on constantly. Two oscillating fans, and a 6" Spider Farmer exhaust fan on speed 3. Everybody says it's better to underwater than overwater but I think I may have underwatered too much and this has stunted their growth? I've been using molasses and liquid seaweed to feed them and I've just given them about 2 litres of water each. I've just ordered the Fox Farm nutrients trio and some Cal Mag and they should be delivered in the next few days so I'll start using them as soon as they come. Why do my plants look like this or are they normal at this stage and I just need to be patient?
Check under your leafs for bugs, after a transplant they will be slightly shocked for a few days when they are that small all I feed is water to molasses shouldn't even be fed until flowering i wouldnt give it any nutes yet and I would advise you use fox farm ocean forest soil it will hold your ph stable and already has nutes in it to get it started
