Please Help Identify This Discolouration

Hi fellow growers!

I am new and started two batches of seedlings currently in veg and around 3 weeks. All are relatively healthy except some that have showed signs of nute burn so i have been carefully flushing them slowly.

However, this one particular plant is displaying really strange colours and the leaves are deformed and curling only on one side always, becoming a claw. I really want to learn more about this and do my best to keep them healthy so i have spent hours researching and trying to find the answer, but to no avail. I am constantly confused between nitrogen and calcium deficiency or excess.

If someone can please help me identify this and why one side of each leaf is not growing and the really strange light green colour, it used to be much worse.

I popped 10 da-alien from pnw roots and they all looked like that, now other plants are doing it, Im thinking russet mites but I scope every day and see no bugs...

Thanks Smerb! I have this pic on my desktop for quick reference, but I still can't seem to identify the problem. It looks like nitrogen or iron deficiency but if i google pics of plants with nitro def, it doesn't look like what i have either :(

Does strain matter and have their own colours? or is this only after flowering?

Most strains stay the same green . Your temperature plays the role in color change. Your soil? Watering is a huge factor to deal with if your unsure about what's going in.... do you use tap water?

Some would say that's tmv or another virus but I don't think that's what it is. I think it's some kind of micro nutrient uptake problem, possibly boron or something..... I've seen seedings come up like that and never really come out of it so I turfed em. Could be some kind of radiation genetic damage from getting xrayed at customs.....

Im almost sure its mites, its spread to a plant that Ive been running for three years and I never remember it having this before in the multiple times Ive ran it. I still have yet to see one mite, the only thing I can think is that my ipm have kept them at bay so I havnt seen one. Or my gallon jugs of Gh micro, grow and bloom that I got from amazon are somehow causing it?

Im almost sure its mites, its spread to a plant that Ive been running for three years

You won't see broad, or cyclamen mites without a 'scope.
Use an X100 and look for eggs on the top knot and leaf bottoms

There is no such thing as tmv on cannabis. Its a diagnosis ppl give when they cant figure out the issue. Radiation poisoning? Lol new one on me

I had 10 chocolope seeds years ago. 2 of em came up like that, they kept growing but all the new leaves looked all mutey like that not even fully formed. I grew em out til they were about 2 feet tall hoping they snap out of it but they never did so I chucked em. The other seeds grew out fine, so did everything else in the room. My seeds came from Spain ,they were no doubt xrayed at customs. X-rays can cause genetic damage /mutations which is why you were a lead vest or blanket when getting X-rays- to protect parts not getting looked at. So not so much poisoning more mutating?

I've seen it happen to on cuts taken from donor plants recently sprayed w strong pesticides too so that's why I was thinking DNA damage: the clones DNA was damaged by the spray and since that's the only code that clone had to replicate from it just kept producing flawed genes. That's similar to how cancer works in people. It would explain what people call genetic drift too- cloning flawed DNA. Was just a stoner idea probably wrong. :smoking:

Thats spider mite damage, broad and russet mite damage looks different. Russet mites can make leaves curl and discolor, broad mites will make your plants look shiny and waxy and appear heat damaged. Ive had spider mites, my damage now resembles some russet damage Ive seen on the interweb.

What medium are they in and have given any nutes? Looks like sonthing def going on

Temperature is a constant 72-75. Its winter here now so it stays that low even with the 300w LED on.
Soil i first started with soil from outside my garden, then i transplanted them into "Professional Potting Soil with added coco peat and fertilizer" (found out today it has added phosphorus) .
I have filtered water at home so i water with seaweed extract. But now I have watered with pure filtered water only in case it was nute burn.

Before I transplanted I did add some calcium balance to the soil, could it be that? But my strongest plant was planted in the exact same way and same water and check the difference :O which is why this completely astounds me

Boron, interesting, that's what I thought at first as well after my research.
Hmm... as for the xray scanning I'm not sure if it will damage the seed, otherwise im sure many overseas growers would be having a hard time with the same problem haha but i think you could be right about the dna problem...i mean if animals can have genetic disorders im sure plants can too, unlucky seed i guess

That looks exactly like what i have! But do mites spread? because none of the other plants have that discoloration.

Im thinking genetics but I would check roots for mites to be safe. I have a genetic curler with leaf color variation.
