Cool thank you. Not much hardwood left near by but a few still in provincial parks North.

River goes through one with horses riding through once in a while. Stables beside the park.

Dark earth and lots of hills. One of the few places I know you can find wild trillium.

Haven’t seen one since I was a teenager. Uncle loved roses but had one. Don’t think I’ve seen one since.

Leaves remind me of tulips.

Common to grow in oak roots?

You guys are about a month ahead of us. We’ve had 4 weekend storm in a row now(?).

About 12” left in most places but so much wind drifts everywhere.

We usually try the bluffs first at Lake Ontario. Then North when most trails aren’t soup.

My bouvier Bear loved that park but passed 2019 week before lockdown. Haven’t been back.

Wonder if they have truffles there too. Lots of pine water and raised clearings.

Used to find pea size a lot as a kid. Never new what they were. They don’t look very appetizing.

I have never found one but I think they are around. Hard to find stuff buried in the ground.

Beside the house as a kid we used to find peanuts. And once in a while these strange hard’ish pea sized dirty balls. When squished they would sometimes be a bit damp but more often crumbly. Dark outside and whiteish inside with light purple(?).

They didn’t look like something to eat that’s for sure. Wasn’t until I saw a to show about it i finaly new what they were.

We had lots of lilac in that yard too. White and purple. No luck with them here, only a few km away. And rhubarb!

I fried some up like chicken tenders for three or four buddies one time. They we're blown away that a mushroom could taste like that.

I sure do! When I was a teenager in WI my friends and I used to carp fish. Canned corn worked the best!
Nice carp!
I'm in VT now so I am limited in species unlike in WI. Mostly bass and trout fishing now.
