next time you use ripen give her 4ml ltr then after that just finish off with a couple of plain waterings. try let her go 9.5 or 10 weeks as she will put on a bit more weight i would of thought also pack more of a punch

ive just found a picture of the mom in this cross bro. dr loads purple rhino grown by foe20 the breeder of this cross uv-3 (purplerhino x bluemoonrocks)
looks like the plant you got is very purple rhino dominate.
are you going to reveg her or just grow out the clones youve already took.

Oh yes, thats her alright :-) I'm going to get some better shots today OH. Shes back under 18/6 -ish! I'll reveg her, take my cuts then maybe reflower later just to see what she can do second time round.

I also have a very strong healthy MALE of this strain sitting in the shed! I'm thinking of saving the pollen but never done that before....what do I need do OH? I'll grab a shot of HIM too! One thing I know, I'm not going to lose this strain, from 3 gifted seeds I think I got very lucky :-) Thanks mate.

re the pollen collection - I 've been experimenting with using 6-8" squares of baking paper, folded into a large powder wrap, then unfolded and attached to the plant stem with clothes pegs (so the paper forms a shallow 'Vee' under the pollen heads). I sometimes put the paper on a warm surface to dry for a couple of minutes first.

Leave a couple of days, pick out the bits, brush the pollen to the centre and fold up. Baking paper is greaseproof so the pollen doesn't stick. The Tescos stuff is unbleached, which might be a better wrap than some papers.

I put the envelope in a labelled ziplock, then into a plastic box in the fridge. I put dried rice in the box to suck up moisture. After 5 days or so it can be frozen, but I understand it can last 12 months or more in the fridge.

ive never stored pollen but from what ive seen you gather the pollen and let it air dry for a few days and then seal it in a dark air tight container ie film canister and then put in the fridge.
if i was you bro id make a cross with this and the bubba o kush you love so much, that would be an awesome cross.
has the male you got in the shed opened any flowers yet or has it gone back into veg???

Hi mate,

No need to repot or re soil, just gradually flush out the flowering nutes as she revegges with plain PH'd water and nature does the rest! They just respond to the changing light cycles, theyre coming out of 600watts HPS 12/12 to 250 watts enviros 18/6, takes less than 3 weeks before you see new stems starting. After 6 weeks you can reflower if you wish, no loss of quality or yield.....well worth a go wityh a special plant.

The Kush is amazing stuff, I love the sweetness of the bud and the hit is special.

I just assumed the they would get rootbound where they are going for double the time, pot bound or whatever its called, i suppose if you was just doing it to get the cuts from it again after 3 weeks it would be ok, but surely if you're gonna take it through its full cycle again it would need some sort of re-pot or root trim and fresh soil?

I've run them through 2nd/third cycles in the same bucket/soil! 2nd harvest is always denser buds with fat swollen calyx (sp?) dunno why but I guess its the plant gaining maturity? I think if I could I would maybe repot as you suggest SP but that 11ltr bucket is the biggest practical size for me. The only time I tried to repot and trimmed the roots I lost it :-( was a Skunk Special my very last one with a nice apple/pear taste too. I'll dig out some pics of it revegging then re flowering second time, I lost it 3rd time round.

Just got back from watching the Morris Men in the village today OH :wacko:...pissing down with rain again. I'll have a close look at the male later but those balls are in clusters now.

is the male getting 12/12 lighting ?
most males will drop pollen about 2 weeks into flowering.
if pollen drops within the next week or so id dust the bubba o kush clone and the purple rhino cross straight away on the lower bud sites. that way you can cut the main colas at 9 weeks but leave the lower bud sites what have been pollenated an extra couple of weeks for the seeds to mature.
its a shame im 2 hours away m8 other wise id pop down more often and i could help you out.
