Mark- Good to hear that they were just overreacting and you get to keep your baby!! Im a loyal APBT owner and probably always will be. They are truly wonderful dogs. I too had one get out several years ago, get into a scuffle and get unjustly shot and killed by LEO. It was a big deal since they didn't follow any procedure, but being a APBT there was no justice- so IMVHO - never put down a pit for BS unless you are absolutely forced to. As far as im concerned they'd have to drag my dog away outta cold fucking dead hands. Period. And believe me, i havent hesitated to let pit bull haters hear that/including leo. And i feel ya, there are other dogs that just LOVE to harass a bigger dog and start shit...still means nothing other than the other dog is a dick.
Seamaiden- come of your high horse. You obviously dont know anything about pit bulls and are making generalized statements about dogs, aggression and caring. And frankly, if I was mark id be jumpin your ass for even accusing of not taking care of a dog 'well enough'. You don't know shit about his situation and must not have seen the lives that half of the poor pit bulls (and any dog for that matter) have to endure. To the statement this one has a caring owner, place to sleep, food, and land to move around on says a shit ton more than a lot of dogs Ive seen in my days. Spend some time in the hood and Mark will look like a saint of dog owner. To jump a dude while he is down, is just distasteful and disrespectful. Im sure he didn't start this thread about possibly losing his dog, to be told he didn't even need to have one. Be constructive or shut up IMO-especially when someone might lose a "child"...
And no, if a pit bull gets in a fight unless you have a break stick, no one is probably breakin it up. Most pit bulls in a fight won't stop on command either. They can be dog aggressive, its in the breed. Does it mean they were trained wrong, are aggressive overall or have bad tendencies? Absolutely not. Its all situational and is indicative of absolutely nothing. I've seen teh best behaved/trained pits get in horrible scuffles and still be laying with small dogs, cats and children later. Fights do no mean shit. Every dog does it, but people freak out when its a pit and think it will be continual. Get over it, it wont. Hell both of my pits have grown up around small dogs, cats, and little ankle biting dogs...
And for the record, maybe if actual statistics were out folks would know that Golden retrievers, labs and chihuahuas account for more human dog bites/attacks a year than any of the "aggressive breeds" people wouldnt be so naive. Look it up...CDC even came out and laughed at the statistics being used, put out the actual statistics and said none of those dogs were any more aggressive. In fact there are more ER visits from cat injuries a year.
Did you even say anything remotely comforting, helpful or insightful to the original post? No. You started off by telling them what is wrong with them. Like you do in just about every thread you get involved in. That is why you have 3000+ posts in 6 months. You think you are a know it all. You bust into many threads the same "I am right you are wrong" way. If you had all those posts and they were"hey dude nice grow" or "How did you do that" or were asking questions that would be cool. We both know that isn't what you do. You use this site like your own Rush Limbaugh show. I only have 1800+ posts in over 3 years. Half of them are trying to make people laugh or feel better. The other half are about my own grows or commenting on other people's grows.
I tried to get along with you. The fact is though I don't like you and I never did. You have rubbed me the wrong way many times. Times I was never involved in, never responded to, things you say and do to other people. The sad part is you do have alot to offer and can be very useful and helpful. That's why I tried to burry the hatchet with you. Well I dug the hatchet up again and now I want to stick it in your head.
You angered me because you didn't try to help the original poster. You just wanted to reprimand him and tell him how much he did wrong.
Then when we were both kinda holding to a truce instead of saying "Hey I don't know if I agree with what you said there" you said "That's a load of BS". You suck at diplomacy. It actually interferes with you being able to help people and share what knowledge you do have. Get some insight.
My message to Mark was don't give up. Work harder to make his outdoor grow a nice one and change his luck. Words of encouragement. Your message just makes people want to walk away from you.
Tobor- Fucking right on, know you're around bout as much as i am for that shit. Folks don't realize Staffies helped win the war. Its like hemp- who'd they turn to in time of war? AM Staffs. They were the most reliable, dependent and strong dogs for the job. They are the get it done dogs of america, that are now chastised because of a bunch of mis-info and ignorance. A lotta shit folks don't realize about the AmStaff and Pits. Its a shame cuz they are absolutely amazing dogs....
