it was like a damn natural disaster in there:rain! the water pipe was pressurized and the size of the crack made it spray like a fucking jet.
The roof even caved in(just the drywall).:)

But my quantum products are the only thing still working, thats got to say something about quality!

Dang it! Brand new Quantum 1000w only worked a week....ordered off the web too...

That sucks must got a bad one. Between me and a few friends we have about 15 of them no issues.

Send it back, or call Quantum and find the rep for your area. You should be able to take it back to any shop that carries them and get it switched out for a new one.

Yeah, what ya gonna do, probably get another one...webstore guys said they get plenty of Quantums sent back...

No distributors in Hawaii, so just gonna send it back. Gotta buy another one first.....I did call and talk to the Quantum guys about the fuse in the ballast...nice guys...

Thats crazy good thing they have a kick ass warranty. Ive been lucky havnt had a single ballast failure but always used magnectics before. knocks on wood

I had two go out on me right away. Both of them had older hortilux bulbs in them. The bulbs blew, and so did the ballasts. Just fizzed out and stopped, fan and all, even with a new fuze. Got them replaced and updated my bulbs to ones rated for higher frequencies, and they've been running great ever since.

I'd recommend GGL Global Greenhouse, which I have seen in the Islands. Then you can return to your local shop. GGL's are #1 here in Humboldt, btw. I have many 600's they are solid and been around for at least 5 years.

Greners....they recommend Lumatek(I don't like purple)......I really wanted to buy my ballast on island but they run around $450 at least.....I think I will go get the GGL locally, too much hassle and time consumption using the web......

I always try and buy from my local hydro shop, the UPS folks in my town fuckin break everything, they ain't worth a fuck.

I actually talk with folks from greners, will you post up your correspondence with them, Im going to call them out on customer service.

Oh Yeah, all I do is surf.....North Shore Oahu...

We got some good hydro shops, but if its half price online....

This was my first experience with Greners, was OK, not sure I can remember too much of what we said exactly...probably gonna stick to local stores for the important stuff from now on....

Shit I miss hawaii, I loved surfing at Off The Wall, you ever make it over 7th hole?
I couldnt ever find any good work north shore, had to live townside.
always surfed bowls(nothing like surfing at the heart of the alapoop canal)

Yep, surfed just about everywhere, 7th hole, ricebowls, kahuku point(big fish out there)- I grew up around DH in town, rode my shitty bike everywhere..can't go to town anymore, I hurt my neck looking at all the chicks...

is the quantum still not working? for seome reason they have some sort of shut off that can last up to 30 mins. not saying this is the case for u but could be worth checking

I have two dimmable quantum 1000w ballasts. They work great, fans are quiet. Restrike is fast. much better then the lumatek ballasts i had. that one was a POS. somehow the connection for the ac cord became loose it just started to fall apart, kinda became a fire hazard.

Thanks for all the help guys, been dicking with this thing for two days now, drove all over the island fruitlessly looking for a 15a 250v 5 x 20mm fuse...
Bummers, I like the best stuff so thats why I got the orangey...just my lucky day I guess....thinking about getting a different sealed one though to combat the high humidity and salt here...
