had to scroll back to page 87 before i even got a glimpse of what could possibly be going wrong.

madnalaman, what are all those tubes and do you have a picture of your system right before you put plants into it?

Hah! Yeah we definitely chat it up in here :D thanks for taking the time to scroll back.

So I have five airstones in the control bucket. I moved one to the left bucket last night. The other are just my pH probe and TDS stick.

Gimme a second to look for picture.

I had to rewrite my post. My first translation wasn't quite as refined.. but I know I'm one of the older cats here so I tried to lay my paw paw comforting hand on the thread...

Oh.... All right. I climb back inside my hole... we all know he has fucked this up 9 times from Sunday... but so did I and many others. Nothing to be ashamed of...Everyone will get better with time. Most of the boys on this thread are looking for thier first harvest.

I love these guys! They put the hard earned money on the line and sometimes in my hands with the advice I give. I'm very appreciative of their trust and I try to always give it to them straight. ..

I was just giving you hell brother... we want here what you say tho. It could save another victim from drowning. All the other stuff on this thread is to help grow too... grow the mind, personality, and promote healing internally. ... Glad to see you visit Mandala thread. ..

Sorry I know I came off a little aggressive. My bad, I guess it's my fatherly demeanor. I'm kinda the old cat here and I feel very protective over my flock you might say lol..
These guys mean a lot to me. I've talked to them more than my own family sometimes! I hope to know these guys for years... and you too hopefully...

@FooDoo come back brother.. You have to much wisdom to not be a part of this thread. I've read many of your posts. Your good dude! This thread would be insulted if you didn't become a part of it!
Don't let me and my deranged personality change anything.. you got 30th more pages to read and that should give you insight into me and my VERY comical personality. .. :)

See you on the other side of them 30 pages :)

Making mistakes is the best way to learn. in both his case and my own. ive made the mistake of publicly giving advice backed with links and quotes to scientific studies to only have the entire thread turn into some personal insult slinging competition.

now i take it to PM.

ill point out the obvious however, i successfully got 16 massive trees in 105 gallons of water eith zero airstones and zero air pumps, he has 2 plants in a few gallons of water with a massive airpump and 5 air stones.

this alone killed his plant. the rest of what i discussed with him in PM would have only ruined quality and yield.

heres a simple example i used.

humans have a ton of bacteria on them always (life is actually very disgusting and the more you learn the less human you start to feel).

"The bacteria cells in our body outnumber human cells 10 to 1, she says, but because they are much smaller than human cells, they account for only about 1 to 2 percent of our body mass—though they do make up about half of our body's waste."

http://www.popsci.com/science/article/2011-09/fyi-how-much-bacteria-do-people-carry-around

so say you look down at your arm, what you cant see is theres actually more bacteria than skin there lol but you dont get a rash unless that specific bacteria is allowed to grow above a certain population number. this could happen by not washing and letting it reproduce, or a weakened immune system that cant fight it off.

thats what happened to his roots. and eventhorizen you even pointed out the root rot days ago but he slightly shrugged it off. there is always root rot causing pathogens in the air and water, but they are under a population number to do any harm. his air pump was shoving massive amounts of the pathogen from the air into his water and even with his cold water the roots couldnt fight it off. plus my hypothesis is the cold water was also hurting the root health which was making it even more difficult to fight off root rot just like a weakened immune system on a person

correct
root rot is always there pythium
many factors can cause it to grow
usually it is at bay do to low #'s of the population
but things like higher water temps
massive amounts of heated oxygen
res temp fluctuation etc.
one of the reasons why I always use hydroguard
maybe it is only anecdotal (sugar pill)
or maybe it does keep the "Bad pop" at bay

but I stand by you 100

I dont run undercurrent or dwc for my cannabis
but in my res I only use a circulation pump
no air stones.....to me it serves no purpose
found out the hard way with stones when my res started foaming after a warm 75degree res day when I didnt have my shit under control

in my dwc system for lettuce I only run the airstones until the roots hit the water
then it is Kratky raft method from there...no stones no nothing
as long as there is a seperation gap allowing the plant to intake oxygen
