@Wisher619 do you have any ideas on making gummies or preferably hard candies using the coconut oil i already have made? I need good consistency but they need to be stable too. I have buddies that want a bunch so i can't have them molding or spoiling or going bad. I just heard about certo and will look into that. But not sure if you knewnoff hand

to be honest in my opinion the plant is deceased

the thing I would do is consentrate on the other
since that other plant is good right now
make sure it stays that way
also I suggest a aquarium heater for the res set at 68 degrees
dont want the solution dropping below that really and nothing above 75

no I have no idea how to make gummies

that is one element of cooking I nevr learned
a pastry chef I used to work with would make them but I never bothered to watch her
to busy drooling over her to see what the hell she was actually doing

I have a couple floating around. I would get paranoid and convinced they were throwing an electric charge into the water like they were shorted. Could have been my mind.
they are meant for fish
so if fish can take the shock!!!!!!

hahahah I hear you
for some reason I have always felt the same way about them but I still have one in my res...especially because where I live and where the res is usually remains about 62 degrees so I always need something to keep it at 68

Judging by everyone's comments up to this point I'd say its unanimous that the culprit is a pathogen but the true cause of the pathogen was LACK OF DISSOLVED OXYGEN. It always is. It's the the key. Helps roots thrive and uptake nutrients, as well as providing an environment that causes pathogen populations to stay low. Just like what foodoo was saying. Without O2 it's like their immune system is compromised and the pathogen populations skyrocket. It's literally the ONLY way to prevent pathogens. No fancy product can save a plant from O2 deprivation whether it's soil, coco, or dwc.

Ya buddy wish is right those aquarium heaters work fine. I used one for compost teas I would brew in my garage in the past.

lmao! sounds like something I would do.

Sorry I know I came off a little aggressive. My bad, I guess it's my fatherly demeanor. I'm kinda the old cat here and I feel very protective over my flock you might say lol..
These guys mean a lot to me. I've talked to them more than my own family sometimes! I hope to know these guys for years... and you too hopefully...
Are you playing both roles of good cop bad cop?:cry::):)
Don't give up the fight Bro! If she dies at least you'll know you gave her everything you had. It will be an even bigger comeback than the patriots!!! I'm fighting some lockout/too high ppm issues myself so I know the struggle

Oh forgot pics. Once a plant has pytheum is additional oxygen going to help? I thought we discovered the problem wasn't lack of DO but all the airstones in the control bucket?

She maybe looks sort of a bit better?

I can tell you this. No oxygen will only accelerate the issue. Air stones aren't the only way to get O2 in the environment. They work but are not the best option. A constant waterfall in the control bucket so the surface of the water is always agitated is a good option, and making sure everything is recirculating well so nothing is stagnant. No air stones though.

She does look at tad better though!

I've taken all of them out. I just have the flow of water back into the control bucket. So I should be amply oxygenated! Also lowered the water level a bit.

there are different species of pythium and it can excelerate in different enviroments

I believe the 2 main factors that were helping your girl to the edge of the cliff

1. To cold res temps ( causes slower uptake to total lockout of both nutrients and H2O)
2. Lack of oxygen to the roots via at least a 2" air gap in each plant bucket between the base of the roots and the nutrient solution

also those air stones pump in hot air
even if the res is cool the hot oxygen will excelerate pathogen growth

I only use my stones in dwc previous to the roots hitting the water
as the bubbles pop on the surface it creates a spray effect constantly hitting the roots and media until the roots make it to the solution itself
once there the bubbles arent needed....only a constant flow as to not allow stagnation
the roots will take in oxygen via the air gap and drink from the solution

but if the crown of the roots are under water then it dosnt matter how much DO is there the plant will drown
the DO would be comparable to humans breathing through a straw
the time where DO helps growth exceleration is when all other factors are met
as in air to the roots only then can the DO help kinda like an added bonus to the roots

just my opinion

^^^^^^^^^ Yup nice explanation I completely agree with that. I'd like to add that on the if the res water temperature is too warm then the water won't hold as much DO either. Too cold and 1. happens. Gotta hit the sweet spot. What is it like 68F?
I've actually been seeing some threads where people go even higher with success. Like low 70s. But good call on the too low Rez temps. I'm already put the aquarium heater in. Shocking how productive I'm being right now.

Awesome. That makes sense and great way to break it down. Thank you :D

You know how fucked I am? I'm still convinced right now she's gonna turn around bahahahah.

So I made some changes to the soil tent. First I took my one coco girl out of the airpot and into a smart pot/root pouch with her own Saucer so I can bottom feed her. Airpots, I've determined, are awful for Coco. My $0.02 but I might just be awful at Coco. So I'm going to give this a go. It's been bothering me a while. The amazing thing is despite the abuse and neglect the Coco girl had white fuzzy roots all out the ying yang. All through the whole five gallon airpot. Which is interesting given her size.

I cleaned the tent. Bleached the floor. Shop vac it up. I thought I saw one winged black gnat looking fucker. How should I handle this? I have some bug killer stuff i believe. Panama jack and azomite and diamateious earth among other stuff. Any thoughts?

Also they all look hungry and unhappy. Just not sure if it's possible I need to be feeding the bigger girls. Maybe I vegged to long and they consumed most nutrients?

I'm gonna take a pic gimme a few.
