Mhmmm... my plan was to go with 4 in a row, 2 biulds, just for the edges of the tent (4x4), in the middle I have 2 leds (~350w), 5 would be cool but no gold... I will go with 4 and see how I will space them.

Well I'm finished drilling all the holes. I used the 1/8" bit for the holes for the cob holders and the lens holders and 19/64" for the eyebolt holes then I tapped them with the 5/16-NC18 tap. Also I typed the wrong size in the parts list it's not 3/16"-NC18 tap lol my typing sucks. The first thing I do is install the eyebolts and then the fan

Can we use self tapping #4 or #5 screws vice tapping holes

Cant tell you how much I appreciate all the info you have posted on numerous boards.
So I was thinking of doing my own DIY lights. But I have a few questions… I will be growing in a 4x4 and a 4x8 tent. I was thinking about going to a 8" x 30" heat sink to spread the cobs out a little. Running the CXB3590 v72 on HLG185h-c-700ma. Should put the cobs @ 50w and 64% efficient if I am correct… So one fixture is 16 PARw/ft^2 and two would be 32 PARw/ft^2. I know people say 30-50 watts/ft^2 but is that PARw or just watts? Also do you recommend lenses, reflectors, or neither?

There is another thread on reflectors and hte outcome was reflectors increase lumens at a target by 15% and lenses by 20%. I am working towards efficiency and wattage. Running 50W/SF veg and 45W/SF bloom.

Thanks for the Info on reflectors and lenses.
Remember Watts do not measure the amount of light your plants are getting, only consumption of energy. So don't get too caught up in watts/ft^2

Yes lumens are a better indicator than Watts but lumens still only measure visible light to the Human Eye, and a good bit of photons needed for photosynthesis are out side the spectrum for the human eye.

I already have a DIY cob light
That's 2-3070 cobs 36 volt
Running at 50 watts (100 watts total)
I want to bump up to 200 watts in my grow area BUT I don't want to deal with 4 divers.
I want to build another but with 2-3590 cobbs (I can afford 2 3590 now) and run the 3070 and 3590 off one driver till I can afford the second 3590, then move the 3070 unit into the veg cab.
Could you recommend a driver that will do that @ 200 watts???

My bloom Area has been expanded and doubled in size.
The 3070 did a good job in the smaller sized area but kinda dropped off in the bigger area.
I wa ant to bump up the lights but can only afford a 2 up 3590 at this time.
So hopefully can run the 3070 and 3590 off one driver till I can afford the next 2 up 3590 light

if alal yopur cob's are 36v, just look at Vf forward voltage. Add them up and pick the driver that can support that. i would imagine a 185H-C1400B would work great if your 3070's can handle the amps at that level. I have mixed 72v and 36v on the same driver and it works, they just create different watts based on volts and amps running. if all cobs arwe 36v you will get consistent watts from both equally. lumens may be different tho. peace.

I'm running my 3070's at 2.1A without a problem
