Good question. ...nope... the bulb has glass...then adding glass to it makes it worse... if you have a 5x5 area and a big 1k hood.... 3 foot actually lights the surface great.... if you lower to your plants you decrease reflection. ..here 130ish plantsDoesnt it pretty much offset by being able to have them closer though?i had one barebulb and one aircooled setup like that and i didnt notice a diff.
