Those are some clones I have going in the same tray. My understanding is that it reduces transpiration. The clones don't have roots to take water in yet but still transpire through the leaves. So trimming them reduces the surface area that let's water off. I'd love for a more seasoned grower to chime in tho as I know there are several other reasons people from the clone leaves.

I'd say that was a good explanation. Reduces transpiration and slows photosynthesis. Since there are no roots the clones can't support a huge amount of leaves so we gotta reduce the amount of surface area. It also helps with fitting more clones in a tray and who doesn't want MORE CLONES?!

I had terrible germ rates starting up. Now I get 100%. I hope that continues. I soak in water and h202 until I see a taproot, then into rapid rooter, soil, coco whatever I'm growing in.
