whats up guys! I was away from my garden for a few days, and was lazy about sterilizing after the last flip, and got a nasty batch of root aphids.

I was using 1:5 diluted OGBiowar tea, and where that usually works as a preventative, these guys were just enjoying the free drink of molasses. So I hit them twice with full strength tea, four days apart, and this is the result:

@stickyfing3rs do they move pretty quick or are they slow and steady? Soil mites are fast and look like they're going somewhere...root aphids just sorta wonder around slowly and look like a bunch of lost idiots.

Can't really tell what it is in your pic, what look like antenna could also be extended legs of a soil mite so its hard to say.

The larvae moves fast yeah man I may have a bunch of sick shit in my mix and I really let them get their numbers up to infestation levels

Idk if the videos came thru but it worked to an extent MOST larvae is dead they basically migrated to the bottom of the container so it takes more than one application cuz I don't have them walking my stems any more BUT ogbiowar appears to be the shit and the guys who use it are reputable members so I'd follow their lead

@Trixxi no brewing needed just add foliarpack to pH'd watr or nutrients at 1 tablespoon per gallon and drench weekly. Then when you are done flowering clean your shit up.

Cap,

So I am finishing up a room that got hit hard by Grape phylloxera, red assed. First was signs week 5, i am in aeroponics, even did the Oregon state wine studies recommendation, and flooded my channels with 130 degree water for 10 minutes. That knocked them down to finish the run but they are still around half mutated from azamax and not fully finishing stages now after two weeks of that. Would the root pack be beneficial to add to my arsenal? Or should I go straight to beauveria bassiana in the form of botanigard 22wp?

Ive since taken steps to remove all dirt faster than planned and be full aeroponics at every stage, and I want to find a failsafe better than running imid or merit in veg stage full time.

The only spray I use foliarly is Forbid by Bayer in vegetative for spidermite/leaf cruncher prevention, I got them bad a few months ago in veg and went nuclear, haven't seen one since and haven't sprayed it since, figure I'll do it twice annual and be OK if don't see any signs of them returning, I'd rather have those then these fucking phylloxera, I think I've read every study and everything possible, great French wine blight, every university study from Oregon State Ag. Dept. I want to watch theze phylloxera suffer, horribly

Thanks in advance.

Foliar Pack. Full strength (1 tablespoon per gallon). Mix well, let the talc settle completely, pour off in to the res, and water all week with it. Keep me updated. They should all go fuzzy in about 5 days.

Cap, I just applied the Foliar Pack to the soil for the first time today. I hit them with a heavy dose of Imid yesterday to clean my infected mothers before using the Foliar Pack. I plan on hitting my mothers with Imid again in about 10 days with weekly applications of Foliar Pack, does Imid kill the fungal spores of the Met in there?

Thanks homie

NOT only did this end RA's for me, I have never seen roots like this, it's like a body builder on steroids.

Seriously cap, this product is the golden ticket.

Nope. 2 applications of MErit75 and 2 of the foliar at full stength within 14 days and you will not have any more root aphids. After you wipe them out you can go back to preventative dosing/teas. How you been man? Still rockin the raw salts/oganic mix?

I've been great man, we have our commercial hemp license now for growing for CBD extraction out here in CO. Still gotta grow some kush though:)

Running Jacks 3-2-1 and Pro Mix for the hemp, has been working great for our mothers and greenhouse. I've been doing 3 gallon root maker pots and coco for the indoor kush mostly for the last few years and feeding a super simple Canna Base mix. Main reason is I am not at all the gardens everyday and it's easier for the guys that do not understand salts.

What have you been runnin brotha? I see ya on IG crushin!

So should I use merit 75 or Bauer tree and shrub? If I use merit should I use granular or liquid?

Merit 75 is soluble granular and is 75% Imid , Bayer tree and shrub is under 5% Imid. I would hit them with Merit 75 once and use the Foliar pack.

Dope thanks!! Can the merit be added to nutrient solution? Or should I just do it with the foliar pack? Also I just did azatrol about a day ago so should I wait a couple more days before using merit

Quick question, have you ever not let the talc settle and watered in the the OG Biowar Tea (Talc and all)?

@Sluice Box a kilo makes about 70 gallons of full concentrate solution. This in turn will make 700 gallons of tea.

If you have an existing infestation, you gotta go full concentrate. It's expensive, but i will save your garden and you will harvest at near 100% if you catch it in time. In that sense it always was worth it to me to hi it hard and heavy. I have done my own side my sides with flowering plants treated vs untreated and the difference was a 2# plant vs. a 1/4# one. In early veg I will use merit75 if I have to. I have used the foliar pack and merit at the same time and seen root aphids fuzz up quite nicely even with merit in the substrate. I'm no scientist but by observation the merit did not seem to have a significant effect on the beneficial fungi in the foliar pack.

After you get control you can just use the tea as a preventative. I have gotten rid of RA 5 times in 5 different spots with these 2 products. Just step your game up and be extra clean and keep the pressure on.

Such a legend, thanks for your time.

This was the result of doing two full strength drenches of OGBiowar Root and Foliar pack, four days apart. The method of application was to brew 7 grams per gallon of each pack into a tea with nothing but earthworm castings and 20ml/gal molasses. Usually I feed 1/2 - 1/5 strength tea every week, full strength when I see a problem.

after three applications of full strength tea in a 14 day period, there are no more aphids in my grow. the last colony held on pretty tight...but there were no survivors.

you can see the new roots growing in around the dead aphid in the middle of this pic...

So you didnt use the tablespoon per gallon of water of straight foilar pack to eliminate them, just the brew??
