Hows the Florida Strawberry growin? SSgrower
Lucky dude, won it in a raffleI like the tent too..I'm eyeballing a 2x2 cus I might have too many plants for a 4x2...What height is the tent?. nice solid looking light, what strain? medium? im in for the show mate
If I get another 2 x 2 I'll probably use the white light LED in there and replace the 2 boards I have in their now with a bar style light for better coverage. Maybe the ViparSpectra KS5000? If the build quality is comparable to the 1500Pro then it warrants a serious look over.
How hard would it be to even out the edges of your bar light where you get a more even par edge to edge so that you don't get the hot spot in the center? Obviously, bar lights are a big improvement in terms of coverage than a board style light but I'm wondering if you were able to run lower wattage or less diodes in the middle where you typically see hot spots to even out the number of photons emanating from your light? I'm sure there is some physics involved prohibiting this otherwise this would have already been done. BTW I like the light spread of KS5000. It seems your engineers are getting closer to even light spread across the canopy. The KS5000 is a great bar light perfect for a 4x4 ft tent. The larger frame on the KS5000 helps spread more light out to the edges and corners. We also concentrate the diodes toward the ends of each bar. Even intensity across your plants results in healthier, more balanced growth. And the removable driver can reduce the heat from the tent, which is good for growing in summer.

Yea, that terpine level is what I am chasing as I want flavor! Maybe keep the same design but have the edge bars detachable so that you can place them closer to the canopy increasing the PAR values in those areas that typically get less par. Basically an outer frame of detachable bars to light all 4 walls that can be hung off of the light frame independently of the center bars with the inner set of bars that can be hung higher to even out par across the canopy. As long as the overall output stays in the 1000+ ppfd range for the CO2 guys it should be more than enough light for pretty much any style grow.
I'd also like to see your foldable frames be able to fold beyond flat to at least 30* so that I can angle the edge bars lower than the center bars along with angling the light direction. I've been looking into side lighting and I could see how having a frame like this would help in getting more light to the lower canopy where it needs more penetration than LED's are able to provide. I'd like to see canopy penetration comparable to HID/HPS if that is possible. I get that they are two different types of light source, HID/HPS being omnidirectional and LED being unidirectional, but with lenses like the one you have on the XS1500Pro your engineers should be able to achieve this.
I could see four XS1500Pros daisy chained in a square pattern with four 4 ft full spectrum/60w light bars hung 6" below at the edges to even out the par across the canopy in a 5 x 5 as a good setup with more than enough wattage to power any grow. I was checking out the XS1500Pro with my rudimentary light meter app and it's not showing any real hot spots which is good. I've even thought of experimenting with side lighting where the bars are mostly far red/700 - 750 nm and I could program them separately to turn on before the main lights do an hour before and an hour after they go off. I would do this on a 14/10 flower schedule. I'd place them on the wall of the tent slightly above the canopy line angled down to mimic sunrise and sunset. Not sure if this would do much in regards to overall dry weight but I do know that it would improve terpene and cannabanoid production.
I took some advice from @Stonemason7767 and tried different levels of Lotus cure. He uses an old wine fridge.Yea, that terpine level is what I am chasing as I want flavor! SSgrower
Yup! Cold will preserve terpenes from gassing out.I took some advice from @Stonemason7767 and tried different levels of Lotus cure. He uses an old wine fridge.
Basically putting branches in paper bags after harvest. I have three jars, each was in the refrigerator for different lengths of time. Longest was just over two weeks. Still burping but smells amazing. Taste of the first jar is better too.
Really slows down the drying though, in my case. Jar two is still at 75% RH.
XS1500 Pro is the full spectrum light, is suitable for both veg and flower stages, please adjust the brightness, hanging height and the using time to meet the need of plants in flower stage.Yup! Cold will preserve terpenes from gassing out.

Flowers are starting to fill out nicely!! I may need to start thinking about supports as these flowers are starting to fatten up pretty good!!! Surprised at how much light the light puts out!!

One of my concerns with this light was whether it was powerful enough to optimize flower production. Pretty much any LED can veg but flower takes power.
This light definitely has power. I'm in a 2 x 2 but even something a little bigger, up to 3 x 3 could probably benefit from this light. 3 x 3 may be stretching it but I'm not too far off. Maybe 30" x 30" would be the practical limit. Of course, again, the daisy chain function allows me the freedom to expand if I wanted to use the XS1500Pro in a larger tent.
I could see a setup of 4 of these in a 4 x 4 easily. Maybe even a 5 x 5 with some side bars framing the 4 lights if you wanted to go wall to wall scrog! They don't have any hotspots that I could find which is a definite plus when you're trying to get an even dispersal of photons over the canopy.
Been lost in translation for a bit bud and hope all is well with ya. Nice work on the light raffle and ladies look nice and danky from here man. Whatever you doin keep at it![]()
