Thanks for pics! Those guys are fat and I can't imagine you getting less than your pound. Just won't happen with fatties like that! 16 of them too, and a really even canopy! Great Diary!

These plants are at Day 30 and one post at Day 18 and on the very right you can see some of my newest transplant :)

Other_Plants.JPG

Here are my newest additions, these plants are monsters!! and their roots were gigantic! Im going to have to tie them down in multi spots and try and get them to take up less room. they should be interesting to say the least. btw there are 3 in one post, and 4 in another.

...and here we are back with the original 16:

Here is a pic, I tried to get only one plant in the picture there is one upper cola in the back that doesn't belong to the plant, otherwise i'm pretty sure its all her. ;)

My sorry attempt at macro shots... lol this was the best out of alot. lol dunno if its me not being steady, lighting, the camera, or what but my macros never do my plants justice :(... anyone know where I can read a tutorial? hehe. there should be a photography help forum lol.

Hope ya'll enjoyed :) might be cutting down in a week, starting flush in a few days prolly.

Hey there buddy! I'd find it hard to imagine me not getting a pound but you never know. In the beginning in my head I always over estimate, then near harvest I always under estimate lol. it's always a better feeling to get more than you told yourself you would ;) because I've assumed I was going to get "x" amount before, and its very disappointing if it's not reached.

there are a couple who won't be a oz, but like i said most will or will be much bigger than an oz ;)

Thanks for the kind words! :passingjoint:

Wow, Im so glad Ur on the farm :) this is a great read! lots of great pictures that expand and have good details too. It must feel really great to of made custom grow style ebb and flow posts, and have them perform so well!! I loved your DIY btw, Id love to build me some posts but on a smaller closet scale. I like the idea of no hydroton to clean have you ever made posts with a bigger than 2" hole? ever consider a 4" that way you can get your hand in every whole? or would that mess up the structural integrity of the posts?

I agree, I think you will definitely hit you lb goal... and then some! some of those tops look close to an oz themselves, if not most of them in the high teens-twenties of dried grams. Too bad your last journal didn't really finish, I think it stopped at around the mid 30's of bloom? Im very happy to see this StarDust-13 finish!! I remember reading a few journals years ago and she was amazing looking!

Keep up the good work, this journal is very impressive, thanks!! Ill be sticking around for as long as you update for.

Reason for editing:

Just thought I'd add that my idea of gorilla tape and bamboo was good in the beginning, held stroung for a while. but every day I go in there I need to move and re-tape alot of bamboo as the plants are very heavy and keep wanting to tip over, I have bamboo stakes up everywhere to support from multi angles but still some stakes come loose everyday!

Im thinking of more permanent stakes that are hot glued to the outside of the posts, instead of taped.

Thanks for the very kind words CasualEncounter! :) 4" netpots and insets are much more expensive, thats the only reason I use 2" is for price. and I'v come to learn that I dont need to get in the posts while the plants are growing, but to clean it sure would be easier but its not that hard to clean these posts.

yea, my last journal... lots of things all happened at once at work, at home and in the garden even camera problems lol. Things didn't turn out half bad that time tho, but this time things are MUCH better :)

They were dense last time, but they are hard as rocks this time and some are really girthy to-boot. I'm excited to have harvest around the corner. than around that corner too! yay for perpetual! hehe, finally all the hard work will start being evident :)

Catch Ya'llz later!

-Mystre.Pharmer

Awesome pictorial update Bro! I love how dense they are getting, looks like you could knock someone out with one of those main colas. there's that one in-particular that im refering too thats in a few pictures ;) looks like they did more branching than you originally expected, but you managed their size well. looks like no popcorn buds at all! congrates on a job well done! cant wait to hear the finale harvest numbers and see harvest pictures :)!

Thanks for posting, its cool to see an actual perpetual grow. They are harder in real life to pull off then they appear on paper lol. eventually you'll get into the "swing of things" and everything will happen like clock work, that is if you can keep a schedule, but it looks to me like you can..

How long will you flush for?

I'm diggin' the perpetual harvests Mystre.Pharmer! Those are some killer colas especially for the cleanup trim at the flip... :cool

Just wondering how cloudy your trichomes are when you begin the flush? :wondering Seems like you've got a lot of plump white pistils and maybe the original 16 could go longer or take small PK boost...

P.S. Your photos are nice and big...

hey whats up shady! as far as how cloudy my trichomes were when i started flushing, they were mostly cloudy (maybe like ~70% cloudy) maybe ~15% clear and same ~10% were amber. when I let this strain get even like ~50% amber it just knocks you out lol. I'll let one or two plants go a little extra long (like only 2-3 more days maybe i dunno) so that I have some that is GREAT for the night time, insomnia and pain. She can get very couch locky if i let her, she's almost too much indica lol, if thats possible ;) . dont get me wroung, I love a good stroung indica, just not all day EVERYday.

Im shooting to harvest them when they are like ~25-35% amber

I have a lot to fine tune when it comes to nutrients. right now im just using lucas formula. its not the best but gets the job done easily. Im ready to put in the work and take the proper notes to dial in my nutrients so my plants are always happy, but I wanna switch nutrient brands before all that. once I do though, it'll be alot of fun because by then I should have this timing thing down with my perpetual stuff and should be good fun :)

ill post updates later :) im transplanting a new post of 9 plants today. and hopefully 4 new posts of 9 a week from now. perpetual is much more challenging (in a good way) :)

pics to come, the original 16 are REALLY frosty now tho, I wish i had a better camera and lighting. maybe after they finally get chopped and dryed/cured they will take good pictures, under diff light, see if i can't get some worthy close up nug shots of how frosty she is :) i can't wait to cut em down :) yay!

Day 51-52ish? lol honestly somethings off in my notes lol..

Greetings fellow Pharmers!

Here is a small photo update, not really tho, just some random shots lol.

These are a pic of a branch that fell! :( Oh, so I added a post same on the original 16's day 51 and I hot glued bamboo stakes to the outside of my posts (alternating sides with the stakes) then after they dried, I put a piece of gorilla tape to cover the glued area. they are definitely attached to the posts lol. much better than the current setup with the stakes just taped to the outside lol, i have to re-tape and stand up some plants everyday. I think i fixed the problem tho. :)

the leaves look darker in these pics for whatever reason than they really where under diff light out of the garden.

resin_closeup.jpg

thats all for now, I have plants at Day 51ish, 41ish, 28, 12 and one post at Day 1. some are "ish" because there is something not adding up in my notes. also the camera i use was never set to the correct date and time lol, so their tags are useless. so i dunno, I won't chop done until they tell me to ;) or i have to. also, ill be putting in one post in less than a week, and after that ill be putting in 5-6 posts of 9. we'll see, currently I have 69 clones rooted that just got some fresh ph'ed nutes the other day so they should take off :)

Thanks for stopping by!

great update mystre! those pics are really swell ;) i like that we can click the little plus sign emblem on em and make em even bigger! its like Im all up in the plants grill, or in the room with ya! haha. the hairs are starting to turn fast it seems. how many more days you thinking? enjoy ur harvest bro! you earned it (and have another harvest just around the corner too! haha great! you lucky dog you)

P.S. they're looking really frosty! good job bro.

great show you got go'in mp. got a few q's for you about your water-cooled sealed room since i'm in a situation where a set-up like yours will be the solution for me. hope you don't mind.

how do you keep the outer room of your sealed room cool with your 2k ballast & 1 hp out there ?

whats the exact make and model pump you are using with the chiller ?

you think one 6" 449 cfm vortex blower with a 6 to 8 reducer be okay for one 8" icebox ?

did you use the red and blue hose hydro innovation sells ?

with proper installation, do you think i can maintain temps at 75F-77F with these equipment in a sealed room
1 - 1000 hps
2 - 600 hps
2 - 40 pint dehuey = 250 watts each
propane electronic co2 gen (non hydrogen)

4 - 8" icebox
1 - 1hp jbj artica

thanks ahead for your help and any tips.

ps. sorry for all the q's

Thanks for the kind words 420Blunts :) i dont mind questions at all, if someone can learn one thing from my posts (even if its what NOT to do lol) than its all worth it.

how do you keep the outer room of your sealed room cool with your 2k ballast & 1 hp out there ?

Well, i actually dont have to worry about the outter room heating up. It gets to maybe 80-82 max where the chiller is. I just crack a window (the grow is in the basement) also my lights turn on at night. so even if it was 90 degrees during the day, the night temps around here are in the mid 50's. so a cracked window actually does alot with those temps ;) im just lucky tho, Its not a problem, but definetly something to consider when building a new room is where the heat will go (its gotta go somewhere)

whats the exact make and model pump you are using with the chiller ?

oh umm, honestly last time i looked was when i set it up. but its just one of those ECO or whatever my hydro store sells, its the max GPH that the chiller manual recommended. however if I were to get a new pump I would get one of those cast iron pumps from watercooledgardens.com they are pricey but will probably last forever! you don't want your chiller pump to fail! that could be horrible (although i read that new JBJ chillers have a flow sensor and will shut off if water flow stops! now that's cool!! because they will never freeze themselves and destroy themselves either, cool new feature)

you think one 6" 449 cfm vortex blower with a 6 to 8 reducer be okay for one 8" icebox ?

I use a one 440 for TWO 1k lights ducted together and ONE 6" Icebox. i may be wroung but i believe I've read that the 8" Icebox has like twice the surface area, which means its cooling capacity is greatly enhanced over the 6". eventually ill make the upgrades to 8" :)

did you use the red and blue hose hydro innovation sells ?

Sure didn't, although that tubing (basically just heavy duty tubing) doesn't kink or anything like that. I use mostly PVC and hardly any tubing and my tubing and pvc is wrapped in insulation aswell.

ps. sorry for all the q's

The 1hp jbj chiller can cool 12,000BTU/hr and 1,000watts is about 3,500btu/hr

1,000+1,200+500= 2,700watts

2.7 x 3500= 9450 BTU

leaving your chiller and extra 2550BTU/hr of cooling capacity. honestly tho your dehumidifiers wont be on 24/7 so even more cooling is left from the chiller. so even though you burn CO2 you should be fine. It's a little close, but this is the math i based my set up off of.

not sure how you're setting up your lights or room but with 4 8" IB you should be fine, im guessing one is for room A/C? and each light gets one? you could probably get away with the 2 600's on one IB together. hell, I use one 6" for 2,000watts of lights i bet if you wanted to you could duct all your lights together, maybe a bigger fan if you do that tho. unless you already bought all your stuff? in which case i think you'd be fine, but i bet you might beable to get away with less equipment if you had time to experiment.

with a sealed room you can keep slightly high temps than normal too because of the CO2. i let my room max out at 81.5F I've seen people run a room with CO2 at like 88F, thats warmer than I would like but i've seen it done with good results.

I hope I helped :)

as for my update, no pics right now. things are hanging and drying been real busy with work and the harvest and just the regular work that needs to be done for the grow. adding trimming to the list of stuff makes my days seem real long lol. but totally worth it. I take some curing shots when they are in their jars. the nuggs looks great :) im very happy and harvest looks like it'll be a nice size. ill know more later though :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Lots of good info Mystre.Pharmer! Thx for the details... I'm gonna need to upgrade eventually to a 1kW in my bedroom and still run my 600W in the bathroom. I've been struggling on ideas for the chiller location since the 1kW will heat up the Under Current 6 and the UC will need to be chilled. I saw that Hydro Innovations makes a cooling coil for the res, but I'm really not sure I can have a huge chiller just outside the bedroom or somehow fit it through a 28" x 28" fixed pane window opening... Should I just go with a 1/10 hp chiller, get a window ac, and ditch my watercooled dreams? :icon_dizzy:

I'm swimming in that same river shady! I think that I am gonna have to go traditional and can RDWC to make things simple for a while. I don't have room in my 3x3 tent, but I called CCH20 and hope they can help me fit it. I can't fit a 4x4 tent as my 2nd grow area, it's just too big for my kitchen. Thanks for your research!

Congrats on your harvest MP! Looks tasty!
