I have some seedlings that are about 3 weeks old and.i transplanted to larger container and they look sickly now. Day 3 in New pots. I'm looking for suggestions as to what is going on. Fresh soil (bas) and under 200 watts of light. Temps.74 and.humidity 58 pct. Started looking funny on day 2

you need pics of these plants are no one will help you

How well draining is the new soil? Did you saturate the entire pot after transplanting? How many days before the transplant was the last watering? What kind of light and how close? Increasing humidity and temp a little while decreasing light intensity will help the plants. Pictures will help us help you.

Low light (low lumens or ppfd), Keep the water content of the soil moist but not wet. Test with you finger p to the first knuckle, and make sure your inflow nutrient mix is on the light side. Around half to one quarter of the recommended dose. Set you temp around 26 celcius and your humidity around 75% (spraying will help if you cant control the fans extracting moisture). Should pick up in no time. Like our friends here state pictures in white light would help us diagnose better.

need to see what you have going on, you should aim for around 100-250/300 ppfd around the seedling stage. dont increase until transfer shock is over

You're over watering. Wait, no, you're under watering. Wait, no, you have pests. Wait, no, you have lockout. Wait, no, you have a pH imbalance.

Is it MG or is it over-watering? If the OP is growing in a well balanced professionally mixed soil, the MG should already be in there. Peat based soil and over-watering leads directly to acidic soil in the root zone. MG is absorbed best with a soil pH above 6.0.

@moguy to know for sure, we need to see the whole plant profile as well as the close-up pictures of the leaves showing the issue.

does look like magnesium deficiency to me aswell. whats soil are you using? any ammendments added?

You posted pictures of your problems, not whole plant profile. That means top AND side views.

If you want help, you need to provide what has been asked of you. Otherwise, all you get is speculations about what could be your problems. Ultimately, that can cause more harm than good. Based on what your pictures show ... the curling at the lower leaves, you're over-watering your plant. It's not a lack of MG. It's lack of proper care. Correct your bad habits and your leaves will green up again. Guaranteed.

are you using tap water bro, and what soil? something maybe blocking nutrient uptake plant is so young to have take up nutrients in that size pot

Over-watering is causing your issues. Now, let me define over-watering. It is not using too much water when you water. It's not allowing enough time between waterings for the soil to dry out. For the roots to remain healthy, it must go through a cycle of wet/dry/wet etc. Young seedlings might be going 7 days between waterings before they need it again. Once the root structure has set hold, watering will likely be in the every 3-4 day range in soil. Use an inexpensive analogue moisture meter to determine when to water. I've been growing for years and I still use one on my indoor plants.

I marked up your picture. The discolored clawing lower leaves tells me that your plant is not getting enough oxygen in the root zone due to being overly saturated with not enough time to dry out.

Some classic signs of over watering


Because your plant can't move nutrients through the roots, its robbing leaves to get its MG for new growth. If this isn't corrected, it will get really bad. Soil that never dries causes acidification in the root zone due to wet muck and root rot. This in turn locks out crucial elements like Mg and CA. It's there in the mix but the plant can't use it.

Fix: Let your soil dry out until the pot is light before re-watering. Once the plant begins to return to health, cut the damaged leaves from the plant. They will never heal.

The cup/ curl does indicate improper watering.

Buildasoil 3.0 with some rice hulls added. I'm thinking I overwatered when I was setting up the pots to initially moisten the soil.

good job on adding some rice hulls bro, gonna be good, just let the girls dry a little, if they go too dry she will tell you by slight yellowing of bottom fan leaves
