Awesome. Thank you guys so freaking much! And Bdubs, that is my goal. Full strength feeds always but only at the appropriate amount. That will come with experience and for sure also knowing the strains I’m working with. I have a feeling at least one of these plants will be a keeper. Maybe not some gold mine but good enough for a first timer to keep around for a little while, while also playing with new strains. I’m taking cuttings from all the plants before flipping. So it will be nice to have the data on all the plants and feed amounts I’ve been doing. I put everything I do in writing.

Rigorous note keeping is paramount. Way to be. And cuttings, cuttings, cuttings! Great plan. I have no doubt you are going to surprise yourself and succeed a bit better than you may be giving yourself credit for.
Your farming knowledge def helped a ton here. Your general understanding of the plant game placed you a bit ahead of the curve. Keep asking questions homie. Never be bashful about that. It’s better to be a proactive cultivator then the latter. 👊🏻

I just read an interesting Rutgers study on silicon amendments in soils. One of it’s cool effects is facilitating higher rates of the assimilation of nitrates for chlorophyll synthesis. As a result, it can mitigate nitrogen toxicity and other potential excesses. Cool that I ordered some of that a few days ago :)

I’m gonna make a guess that it will reduce the intensity of the yellowing phase of new leaves during rapid growth periods and shorten the time in between those bursts.

I haven’t used any pest preventative sprays. Is it highly advised to do so, at least once before flipping? I have a hepa filter on my intake fan so I’m probably fairly protected from that. But, I’m sure things hitch a ride on me everyday from my farm. I always change clothes and wash my hands before opening the tent, but lord knows there must be some pests in my house. But shit who knows, maybe not. I always have 20 trays of microgreens growing at all times. Never seen anything on them. In the early spring, I usually have like 60 full trays of various starts under lights indoors for a while and come to think of it, have only ever seen pests on the eggplant starts, every damn time in fact. Wow after typing this out I just realized I’ve been really lucky over the years!

Just look under all of the leaves from time to time. They will shows signs pretty fast if they are around. 👊🏻

Nope not in an organic soil mix. The soil is pre stacked with a bunch of buffers for just that issue.

I don’t either. I’ve been at this a looooong time though. Flushing is generally for hydro rigs. Or coco. 👊🏻

nice man good to see a few of us long term growers around :)
ive been testing a few things whereas they "claim" this does this. my PH perfect 3 part nute is ment to lock its PH but it doesnt at all, though i do enjoy how my plants respond to it though. only really learnt about ec levels with my past 2 grows never really had any issues. i think if you set the right enviroment and setting than you might not need a bunch of buffers but each to their own off course

I’m not sure what P deficiency looks like. Hopefully I won’t be finding out anytime soon. I did have a of a magnesium deficiency but transplanting and increasing the calmag too care of that.

Pretty sure all we’re lookin’ at is some overfeeding of nitrogen for now.

yeah honestly delivers great performance but when i add my silica and 1x a week cal/mag she drops down to 4.8ph but a tiny bit of biocarb soda and boom 6.5 :D but i have to use 2 diffferent ph testers someone adviced me to move up to the 2part and step away from the 3 part. what do you find ?? i do see you posts and answers, im a fan of your art :D

Hey I appreciate that bud! Are you mixing the cal mag and silica separately? You could just apply at different times of your feed day. That way soil buffers can take care of the wacky swing, from the silica and calmag then apply the three part later in the day, that way it’s on point in the nutrients and ph end of things. Of coarse this is only if you mix them all together…..

my current problem would make alot of people happy haha

my damn buds are going to make my branches snap :( there only 4w 3d in will have to test a scrog net out

Does silica reduce pH that intensely? I’m gonna be using some in the next day or two for my plants for the first time.

I had to do this. I used Mammoth Silica throughout my next grow to give birth to those stems.

Silica will affect Ph. Because is is a liquid form it is acidic. Silicon is the thing you want but in liquid form it is called Silica.
